" You seem so happy about that," Kontas grinned.
"Of course I am. You know how much I truly want to see outside Begtuok, but whenever I ask you to take me, you always say no '' she said, pouting her mouth.
She didn't know how adorable she was at that moment.
"Whatever, I hope you will stop bothering me after these?"
"Of course, I promise"Madison snickered, lifting her pinky finger in a childish manner which made Kontas laugh.
Nazim was taken aback by Kontas's laughter.
He scarcely sees him laugh, he was used to Kontas's authoritarian and gloomy face and not the cheerful Kontas he was seeing.
And the fact that it was Madison that made him laugh added fuel to the fire.
Nazim didn't appreciate that one bit, and she didn't even notice him. She was just being all cozy with him, and it was not in any way impressive to him.
"Seems like your wounds are all healed up now?" Prince Nazim asked taking her attention away from Kontas.
Madison smiled dazzlingly when she saw prince Nazim. She can't believe how she didn't notice him at first.
Perhaps it was because she was so optimistic after hearing she was going outside the palace.
Moving away from Kontas she slightly bowed.
"Prince Nazim. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there"
"It's ok. You seemed over-excited, so it's understandable, "Prince Nazim answered.
Prince Nazim has promptly turned out to be one of Madison's favorite people in the palace.
He was always helping her, and Madison was grateful for that.
Everything was going all smoothly until prince Nazim decided to ruin it with his question,
"Ah, Madison, don't you think it is a terrible idea to go outside the palace"
"And why is that?" Madison asked, the smile that was on her face already gone.
She didn't like the direction their conversation was heading, and it was all apparent on her face, but prince Nazim was too unsophisticated to notice.
"You know, the fact that you are human makes you more of a prey when you are outside. You have no powers, and you will be defenseless outside the walls". He has pissed off Madison.
He should have just kept quiet and kept his disagreement inside.
"So it is only you gods that are allowed to go outside the walls, right" Madison chuckled, but not a friendly type.
She hates it when someone looks down on her.
Kontas instantly noticed how Madison's expression changed.
'What a gull Nazim was, if he likes someone, can't he at least do his assignment? He is such a fool. You're supposed to be scared of her instead you are looking down on her' Kontas thought as he went to where Madison was standing with a crushing fist and pulled her to his chest.
"Nazim, let me tell you one thing you would like to stop doing if you don't want Madison to hate you, you should refrain from downgrading her, she doesn't like that "he whispered to Nazim as he telepath Lydian to bring his horse to the main gate.
"Let's go, we don't want to be late". Prince Kontas said as he teleported them out of there.
" Am never going to get used to this teleportation of her thing," Madison said, immediately they appeared in front of a big gate that was the height of a tower or maybe higher. She was feeling all dizzy.
"This is begtuok Madison, and you should know by now that you can't go anywhere without teleporting"
"Even though we could have just walked," she complained.
"So you can complain to me how exhausted you are throughout? No, thanks," he replied.
"But who are we waiting for?"
"Lydian"
"Is he coming with us?"
"No, he's not, he Is just bringing our horse"
"We are going on a horse?" Madison asked, sounding not too happy about it.
"Why are you looking like that?"
"Because I have never ridden a horse before, and I don't think I can," she responded.
"I know, you never liked riding one bit. I'm always the one forcing you to ride, still you didn't learn it. What a stubborn girl" he whispered absently.
"What are you whispering about?"
"Nothing, Lydian is here". He needs to be more careful or else she would find out.
"Can't we just walk? It will be nice, you know" she begged.
"If I hear one more complaint from you again, you won't be following me"Kontas threatened, making Madison quickly shut up.
"My prince"Lydian bowed as he handed him over to his horse.
"Thank you, and also, keep your eyes on the guys and make sure they don't miss any of their training"
"Yes sir. See you when you return" he bowed again as prince Kontas put Madison on the horse and climbed behind her and they took off.
"Your guards are thrilled to have you as their leader" Madison grinned immediately after they left Begtuok.
"Someone once told me that if you want to be respected, you need to be a good leader"
"That person is wise. Where are we now?"
" We are in Azalea, the land of the elves" he answered.
"Elves?" she asked, surprised." nobody has told me they were elves"
"You never ask"
"So if I ask you a question, will you answer?"
"It depends"
"The necklace that you are always putting on, who gave it to you?".
For months now Madison has been seeing him with the necklace since he never takes it off. She wondered if it was his mother who gave it to him.
"It belongs to someone special. I have also been meaning to ask you, what is this mark that is sparkling below your neck region?" Kontas asked.
Since they left Begtuok, he has been seeing it. And the further they go from Begtuok the brighter it becomes.
" Mark?" Madison asked, confused until she remembered the mysterious mark that she has had since birth.
She thought it has gone because for a long while now, she hasn't seen it.
"I thought something was wrong with it. I haven't seen it for a while now".
When she saw the questioning look on his face, she explained,
"that mark only shows when am in some sort of trouble, but I thought something was wrong with it since it hasn't appeared for a while"
"And why do you think something was wrong with it"
"The time you nearly killed me with your pain, it didn't come out to indicate that I was in trouble and many other times you were hard on me"
"That's because it knows I will never hurt" he whispered.
"What? You know for some time now, you always say some weird and strange things"
"You are weird yourself. I knew they were up to something" he sighed.
"I wonder what trouble is about to befall us for this mark to be…."
"Go down" Kontas shouted, pushing Madison down and off the horse with him as an arrow flew past their head.
What was happening? Madison didn't bargain for any of these.
"What's happening?"Madison screamed.
"We are under attack,"Kontas replied, getting himself ready for battle.
"What? Why?"
"This is not the time for asking questions, I just need you to keep calm. Can you do that Catelyn?" he asked, wrapping the tears that were already falling from her eyes.
He never wanted her to see him fight someone, but he had no option. He had to fight.
"You are the strongest person I have ever seen Katelyn, you made me who I am today and I will protect you as I promised".
What was he saying? Madison was confused, he was acting like they have known each other forever.
As she was about to ask him what he meant by that, he was out of her sight before she knew it. Leaving only her in God knows where
