The pair of purplish-silver eyes stared at the view of the city below from a height of sixty floors. The morning dawned so that the sky was no longer dark, but red.
He had just returned from the brothel. Like most of his free days; it was what always filled his time: Women, and must be humans, for they were more attractive in Rohan's eyes than other races. Yes, although humans were usually very weak because they were born without superpowers - they could only rely on intelligence to survive and continue to multiply in order to liven up the various planets in the galaxy.
Helomus was a race with an innate superpower. History said that they were ordinary humans who were affected by a scientific chemical test explosion millions of years ago.
At that time, the impact that changed their DNA was too tiny to be completely invisible. But hundreds of years later, the impact manifested itself so that many humans had superpowers.
The too-length of time when the impact appeared meant that they were no longer able to research how to fix the impact of the test. Humans had spread to various planets.
Feeling superior, the Helomus people decided to become a pure race. They didn't want to produce offspring with other races so that not everyone could have superpowers.
Unfortunately, it was rather difficult for the Helomus to have children, so their numbers were very far from humans.
The Helomus race was divided into two. One chose the path of goodness and the other chose the path of evil. The good became superheroes and the bad became villains. And in their between were humans, who were tasked with building a civilization to become their playground.
The Egoxar clan was a Helomus race who from the start, chose to be the villain. Their family tree was not extensive until Lady Jenzigh was born and became the leader.
Unlike other Helomus women, Jenzigh had no trouble conceiving. She used the ability to enlarge her clan and made it the strongest in the solar system.
Rohan Egoxar was Lady Jenzigh's fourth child. He had seven brothers and three fathers. His family was indeed big, but he didn't really feel like he had a place to come home to.
"Where have you been all this time, Rohan?"
The two eyes darted to stare at the shadow of a woman who had just entered his room. The silver-haired woman who had that same colour for her eyes put her hands on her waist. It was her worst, annoying pose to Rohan's eyes.
"I'm sure that's not what you care about," Rohan replied.
"We were all looking for you. You always appeared on television but never answered our calls. You know there's an important mission coming up soon and we have to prepare for it." Jenzigh said.
Rohan pulled his body away from the glass walls that surrounded half of the spacious room. He walked over to the dining table without a single glance at his mother, and sat there. Then he played with the holographic screen that appeared on the surface of the white, marble table.
"Are you listening to me, Rohan?"
"How can I not hear your loud voice? It even hurts my poor ears." Rohan said indifferently.
"Indeed. You're looking for me because you need me. Seeing you this angry makes me wonder what kind of mess things got when you guys prepared everything without me." He chuckled.
"Watch your manners, Rohan! I am your mother and the leader of this clan." Jenzigh hissed.
"Well.. You're kind of right. That should always be the first point that comes to my brain. So, what does your son have to hear, the cruellest woman in the universe, Lady Jenzigh?" Rohan replied with his eyes wide, eyebrows rose high and a big, mocking smile.
"Cut your childish humour, Rohan!" Jenzigh growled.
"Bardahon will arrive in two days. The mission material should be finished by tomorrow at the maximum."
"I know. That's why I came back here today. You'd better write that down on your list of favours to me." Rohan said.
At the same time, the table surface opened and another surface rose from inside with all the food that Rohan had previously chosen. He began to eat the food even though his appetite had decreased because of his mother's arrival.
"Please stop playing around, Rohan." Jenzigh sat in another dining chair with a desperate face. "How could you leave when you were most needed? I've told you a hundred times, Rohan; Put the family's goals."
"Family's goals, huh? I don't even understand what 'Family' word means because I don't even think I have one!" Rohan stared intently at the pair of silver eyes.
"Geez! You're bringing that up again, aren't you?" Jenzigh pretended to massage her forehead.
"I am. Then what are you going to say?" Rohan replied as he raised his one long, sharp eyebrow.
Jenzigh narrowed her eyes at her son. "I think you should be mature enough to understand this, Rohan. We are the villain. The form of our concern for the family is different from the people out there. We don't give warm hugs and wet kisses. We love each other with money. Where do you think all the fancy food you eat comes from? The buildings we live in and all of our luxury vehicles? Those are all forms of our care, because they are what we exactly need."
"Then what's the point of all this if everyone here is acting like a stranger? We do have luxuries. But everyone enjoys it individually as if it is a personal achievement, not a family achievement. Basically, we only work for you to have this all. You make it seem like this is what we want and need. And I'm not even sure if this is what I really want!" His purple eyes trembled with anger.
"Rohan!" The mother snapped as she rose from her seat.
Her face looked angry and disappointed. Her heart throbbed at the words of her strongest, but also the most rebellious son.
"Why do you keep being like this, Rohan? Why do you always stand against this family principle? This is why you weren't strong enough until this time. You look exactly like your grandfather. Don't you realize that the contents of your mind are something good people have?" She asked heavily.
Rohan glanced at Jenzigh disapprovingly. "I'm not a good person. I am the cruellest and strongest. Standing up for my opinion is not a weakness. Don't paint everything like I'm not bad enough to be the strongest. You think I didn't realize that you are just trying to take advantage of me?"
Since his biological father's death, Rohan had grown to hate Jenzigh, his own mother.
Gedron Nothorn was the second of Jenzigh's three husbands. But Gedron's life did not last long after their nine-year-old of marriage which produced only one son. He died on a dangerous mission which -of course- was created by Jenzigh.
Gedron's death gave a heavy blow to Rohan, who idolized his father so much.
The disappointment in Rohan's heart swelled even more after he saw how his mother behaved after his father's death. Jenzigh acted as if nothing had happened. She continued to carry out her mission with her remaining husbands.
