Chapter 3 - He'll do

The following day went well for Teran and the day after was the third day of Teran's new employment.

He was even more excited about the fact that he had been given the night shift, which meant that during the day he could relax and simply take care of his grandmother without having to do menial jobs.

By nine in the evening, he had already arrived on his floor, walking over to the Attendant hall at the uttermost left section of the floor.

But before he got there, Rasher the floor supervisor was already walking towards him wearing their usual black and white uniform with a serious expression on her face,

"Aaah…Teran right. Right on time," she said to him gesturing for him to quickly follow her as she continued walking at her usual pace.

"Yes ma'am," Teran replied, prepared to be given the dirtiest room they had for him to clean. He had even gone as far as watching YouTube cleaning videos to improve his efficiency, which was why he was shocked to hear what Rasher told him next.

"There's an important customer. I'm in charge of leading him in. You'll be in charge of taking care of his needs," she said, a slight frown on her face as she recalled how every one of her attendants had strangely disappeared the second they heard that particular customer was coming.

"Me-me?" Teran instantly stuttered shocked to be attending to an elite customer so soon.

"Don't I get a three-week trial and training period?" Teran asked since he wasn't particularly trained and knew enough about how particular rich people were when it came to hotel services.

"No, you don't. Moreover, you'll be fine. Everything you'll need or the customer could possibly ask for, is there. All you have to do is give it to him or pour him whatever drink he wants," Rasher replied, hastening her pace since she had been informed that he would soon be arriving.

"Look, just patiently wait in room 105 until I arrive with him," Rasher pointed out the moment they got to the room door, expecting Teran to wait behind while she hurried off.

Teran did as he was told. He used his card to enter the room to wait inside.

Looking around it, he was even more shocked to see the extent to which the floor supervisor had gone to make the room look more lavish than it had previously been.

"I wonder who the elite customer is…" Teran thought to himself as he continued standing a few steps away from the door, inside the room ready to receive whosoever stepped in.

He was still waiting when his phone suddenly rang.

He quickly picked it up, recognizing the strange number that kept on calling the moment he did,

"I need that favor today,"

"today?"

"Yes. I'll call you again, some hours from now to give you more instructions," the deep voice on the other end said and even before Teran got a chance to agree or give an excuse, the person on the other end cut the call.

"hello…"

"Hello…" Teran called out into his phone that was still placed against his ears as he tried to make out whether or not the person actually hung up on him.

"Rude. Continue like this and next time maybe I'll cut the call on you," he muttered back under his breath as he placed his phone back in his pocket.

He was still looking down, when the door suddenly jerked open from the other side with Teran doing all he could to fall back into a docile and welcoming position, with his head slightly lowered to greet the new guest.

Only to slightly stutter when he raised his head just enough to see the face of the guest, only to find himself staring straight at a dark mask,

"We-Wel…Welcome sir," he said, moving his gaze behind the guest and straight at Rasher who was standing a few steps behind him, wondering what next he was to do.

Rasher on the other hand saw an opportunity, she had been waiting and even hoping for. One she instantly jumped at the moment she saw Teran fumble,

"If you would like me to attend to you I would gladly do so Mr. K," Rasher immediately said offering her services, with a demure smile on her face,

"Teran is new. There are a lot of things he doesn't know yet," she informed him trying to hide the eagerness she felt from her tone,

Teran on the other hand didn't mind and simply wanted nothing more than to leave. Coupled with the fact that he had a favor to return, being inside the room with a tall, broad-shouldered masked man was the last thing he wanted.

"If that is what the…"

"He'll do," Mr. K said, interrupting Teran before he was done, and gesturing for Rasher to close the door behind her when she left, as he walked into the room and past Teran who had a slightly shocked expression on his face.

The door slammed shut behind him with Rasher leaving the room making Teran even more extra aware of the only other person in the room.

"Eeemm…I can wait outside. If you need anything you can call the attendant desk," Teran said the moment he saw the tall masked man standing a few steps away from him gently sit on the closest sofa, before turning all his attention on him.

"I don't want to be a bother," Teran told him staring at the man's dark eyes, while wondering what kind of face was behind it and why he needed to wear a mask in the first place

"So soon?" Mr. K responded with a discernible smirk on his face as he intently watched every one of Teran's actions.

"Pour me a glass of wine. Tonight is supposed to be interesting and I can't help but wonder what your role is," K said, leaning his chin on his left hand, while his elbow laid on the arm of the chair.
