Chapter 5 - A Face Reveal

"I won't ask you again?" Kahan loudly swore. The muffled sounds of bullets still echoing in both their ears,

"I'm here to do my job," Teran softly whispered back, not knowing what else to say, completely aware of the gun the masked man held in his right hand.

He was on the verge of saying more, and even going into more details about his life, when the sounds of the bedroom door being smashed in was heard from the toilet where they were,

Teran's eyes bulged in fear and Kahan instantly stepped away, peeping into the keyhole of the toilet door to see how many people he had to deal with,

"W-we can call the police," Teran whispered from his position by the wall, listening to the new footsteps, out in the bedroom and the low voices that came with them.

"Suree…we'll just patiently wait for them while the attackers wait with us," Kahan replied back in an extremely sarcastic tone, turning his entire attention away from the attendant behind him as he concentrated on taking out all the attackers on his own.

From his kneeling position on the floor, he could see that there were four attackers in total, and regardless of the fact that he was outnumbered, there was no obvious change of expression on his face.

He had experienced worse.

Seconds more went by with the four attackers stepping fully into the room, with each of them checking every corner of it as they made it obvious that they were looking for someone in particular.

Two of them had just stepped closer to the bathroom door, with the aim of checking it to make sure that it wasn't empty when Kahan raised the gun in his hand up and took aim.

Teran's eyes further widened in shock, watching Kahan's actions, and seeing him point the gun in his hand at the door in front of him, when he suddenly felt an aura of impending doom.

"Paa…paa,"

Two gunshot wounds went off with Kahan instantly flying out of the bathroom door, leaving Teran clutching his ears tightly, bent close to the ground, and fearfully leaning his back on the wall.

Kahan didn't hesitate. He had done much worse to people for lesser things.

For people trying to kill him, Kahan felt that an instant death was too lenient a punishment for them.

The second he jumped out, he aimed the gun in his hand straight at the remaining two people dressed from head to toe in black, taking one out with a shot to the head, while shooting the last one twice.

His arm and stomach were instantly covered in blood as he dropped his gun and fell to the ground.

By then, Teran had gathered all the courage he could to step out of the bathroom, looking anywhere else but at the dead corpses in front of it.

"You're out? I was convinced you were going to lock yourself until the police arrived,"

"I-I didn't want you to have to fight alone," Teran said, feeling a little bad at being unable to do anything but be a burden when he might actually be connected to why they attacked the room in the first place. It was his fault for owing such a person connected to assassins a favor.

"I would advise you to go back to the bathroom," Kahan honestly replied, taking his phone out to again try and contact Manny, his assistant.

He didn't trust Teran completely yet but at the same time, from how pale he looked, he didn't think watching him torture the remaining assassin for information would improve his complexion.

"No," Teran bravely replied, while looking straight at Kahan, not daring to look anyway else lest he look at the bodies on the floor as he walked closer to him.

"It's safer if we stay together until the police arrive," Teran continued to confidently speak, convinced that the hotel would definitely be already aware of what had happened, when out of his eye he caught the black-clothed assassin who Kahan had taken down but hadn't killed pull another gun out of his shirt.

Kahan was still staring at his phone, typing and continuously dialing Manny's number with a furious look on his face, when he suddenly felt someone crash into him, right before a loud gunshot sound rang out a few steps away from him.

"Boom!"

Kahan crashed to the floor, the mask on his face slipping off, but still, he reacted instantly, pointing the gun in his hand in the direction of where the gunshot came from, pulling the trigger twice, even before he had fully aimed at the target.

The assassin was dead in seconds.

Kahan had just turned back to look at the heavy weight lying on him, ready to yell out the annoyance he felt.

"What iss…" he began pushing Teran roughly away from him when he noticed the deep gunshot wound below his collar bone, as he bled profusely from it.

"Kahan Pelzer??" Teran's voice suddenly echoed in the room, out of pain and shock as he laid his eyes on Kahan's now bare face, right before he fainted when he noticed the gunshot wound below his shoulder.

"SHITT…" Kahan cursed under his breath as the entire situation suddenly became extremely clear to him. He didn't see the attacker, and if the assassin had properly aimed without the hotel attendant pushing him out of the way, he would have been dead.

"Boss" A deep voice sounded from the doorway as multiple people suddenly stood at the entrance facing away from the room, with only one of them going in and moving close enough to Kahan until he knelt a few steps away from him,

"I should have known they would send more people. I took care of the ones by the elevator but some had already been hiding in the neighboring rooms" the young and dark-haired man kneeling in front of Kahan quickly informed him but Kahan no longer seemed to care about the assassins.

"He needs a doctor, ASAP, and where the hell is Manny?" Kahan asked the frustration he felt overwhelming enough for him to no longer care about keeping a calm expression on his face, especially when he noticed that he was no longer wearing a mask.

A little glad that Lario, his number two was smart enough to make the rest wait outside.

"Manny? I can't reach him K,"Lario replied the second the question was asked knowing how impatient his boss seemed at the moment.
