Hearing Lario's answer, Kahan no longer saw a reason to continue having a conversation with him.
"Take care of the hotel attendant. I'll contact you when I find Manny," Kahan replied, pointing at Teran whose shoulder had been wrapped up with Kahan's black jacket, right before he fixed his fallen mask back over his face and got up to leave the room.
"Should I send backup with you?" Lario asked, wondering where K was going especially since they had no idea where Manny was,
"I'll take some people with me," Kahan replied, walking out of the room and taking some of the guards standing at the entrance with him.
There were a lot of dead bodies at the entrance and regardless Kahan found it a little strange how no one in the hotel management was aware of it. It almost seemed like the floor they were on was completely off from the rest of the hotel.
It was already close to midnight when he made it out of the hotel. He got into his car with five other guards following behind him in another car as he made his way straight to the Mano company.
Kahan knew that If there was anyone behind it all it was most likely the Mano company.
He parked directly in front of the company and had just gotten down from his car, walking towards the entrance, with the footsteps of his guards echoing loudly in the empty area when a few people suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Mr. K," said their obvious leader as he stood in front of the other two men holding rifles spoke, holding a gun in his hand and a nasty smile on his face that showed that he didn't feel threatened by Kahan's presence in any way,
"It's so nice that you could finally join us, the rest are waiting upstairs," The man spoke, going as far as to point his gun at Kahan's head from the distance of about three feet between them. Making it obvious that it wasn't an invitation.
"Is Manny up there?" was all Kahan asked in return, in a cool tone as he stared at the backing dog in front of him that had been sent out by his masters.
"And why would I tell you that?" Zora replied, staring back at the masked man in front of him called K, someone whom everyone in the underworld was terrified of. Someone who he felt he could kill right then with a single shot to the head.
"Stop asking and just follow me if you cherish your life," but Zora had barely finished speaking when the five bodyguards behind Kahan, stepped forward to his side pointing their guns straight at Zora who instantly became furious at their actions.
He instantly raised his hand, sending a warning gaze in Kahan's direction,
"You should quietly follow me and leave your bodyguards here if you want to see your friend alive. Also, it would be sad for me to have to tell the snipers to kill them all," Zora said pointing at the men guarding Kahan.
Without blinking his eyes, which were the only visible part of his face, he walked forward and past Zora and the other two men by his side, gesturing towards his underlings to wait for him there.
Unable to protest, they watched as their boss walked into the dark and deserted-looking building alone, yet there was a blinding faith in his strength that was visible in their eyes.
"Fancy meeting the Great K here. I've heard so much about you. It's almost a shock to actually meet you here," Kahan heard a voice the second he stepped into the lobby right before the lights came on, with him looking around to identify where it came from until his eyes landed on Xener, a middle-aged man who was the CEO of the Mano company. The main reason why he was there.
"Was the attack at the hotel your doing?" Kahan went ahead to ask even though he knew the answer but he still wanted to hear the words directly from Xener.
"Are you stupid or something? After you asked me to pay 300billion to the Dangs to make up for the project I didn't finish paying them for, what did you think was going to happen?"
"I even promised to give you a cut and you went ahead to shove it in my face," Xener said with a sneer on his face signaling to the guards standing all around him to bring forward a gift he had already prepared.
"I should specially thank your assistant. If not, I wouldn't have been able to know every detail relating to your security team," Xener continued to speak with a big smile on his face as his guards dragged out three people in front of him with Manny, Kahan's assistant, being among them.
He was bruised all over from head to toe, yet he didn't dare to meet Kahan's gaze who stared at no one else but him.
"After I kill himm…his girlfriend and I finish you then I'll be able to take over from you and run the entire city of London," Xener went ahead to say in a loud voice, and he had barely finished speaking when his guards understanding what he meant, pointed all their guns straight at Kahan who stood alone in the center of the lobby.
He still wore his three-piece suit, his shiny leather shoes with no part of his appearance out of place.
Looking around him, he noticed Manny trying to protect two of the other people that had also been made to kneel on the floor beside him, with the last one having a similar facial structure that made it clear that she was Manny's family member.
"Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?" Was the first thing Kahan said the second he decided to speak, a hidden smirk on his face, as he stood looking at Xener without a care in the world.
"If you had any chance of killing me, you should have taken it," Kahan said, delighted to hear the sudden sounds of gunfire that erupted around them even as he spoke, watching the terrified expressions that appeared on Xener and the people surrounding him.
Doors were bashed in with glass spraying everywhere and amidst it, all Kahan did not even see the need to duck, as he stood calmly with his shoulders high.
In minutes, all of Xener's men were wiped out and he had just lifted up the gun in his hand to point it at Kahan when it was instantly kicked out of his hand.
The gun landed on the floor and Xener followed some seconds after as Lario, Kahan's number two in his underworld business appeared and personally shoved him hard against the floor, until blood poured from his forehead.
"Right now, I'm sure you can see how your life is worth more than the three hundred billion dollars you needed to pay," Kahan calmly said, right before he turned his gaze to Manny, his assistant who was the reason he had crossed paths with death a few hours ago.
