Kahan looked at Manny before looking at the two people kneeling beside him: his girlfriend and his sister whose hands he tightly held in each of his own.
Gradually, Kahan stretched out his right hand to his side towards the closest guard to him, demanding for his gun. The second the gun landed on the palm of his hand, Kahan aimed and shot a bullet watching it dig into the skull of his target until his body lay unmoving on the floor.
Xener the CEO of Mano company was dead and Kahan had every intention of going after the rest of the company until it belonged to him.
At that point Manny, Kahan's assistant was still shaking from head to toe as he further squeezed the hands of his family members out of worry.
He knew his boss and he knew exactly what he was capable of.
"I had to. They were going to kill both of them if I so much as told you they contacted me. They had me bugged… I had no choice," Manny began to plead, tears filling his eyes to the brim as he finally lifted his gaze up to meet that of his boss whom he had been with for more than five years.
Kahan simply nodded as he listened to Manny profusely plead for his life as he stared at his pathetic appearance with his eyes through the holes in his mask.
"I just have one questionn…"
"Is their lives more important than mine?" Kahan asked in a cold and deadly tone that made even Lario who stood not too far away from him want to run away and flee. Kahan was a good boss and his temper was rarely seen which was why it was all the more dangerous to whosoever he directed it at.
"Is their lives much more important than mine that you decided to betray me?"
"Boss, yoo…you would have survived," Manny managed to say despite the glares he was getting from everyone around him especially Kahan who he knew was seconds away from ending his life,
"You are strong enough by yourself, you can survive anything," Kahan heard him say and he too would have believed his words if a useless hotel attendant hadn't saved his life some hours ago.
"Even after you pulled away half of the security that was supposed to be there? I trusted you but now I'm glad I didn't trust you enough," Kahan slowly said right before he raised the gun pointing it straight at Manny, with a devilish glint in his eyes and a cruel smile that was hidden from everyone there,
"Unfortunately for you, I survived. Now you get to pick one of the two people beside you who would do the same. If you don't, I'll pick for you" Kahan patiently informed him delighted to watch his entire face turn completely pale in an instant,
"K-K…" Manny unknowingly screamed the moment he head Kahan's words, right before he crawled forward towards him on both knees leaving his sister and girlfriend behind, bending his head in front of Kahan until his forehead grazed the well tiled floor.
"Kill me instead," he begged,
"For all the years I've honestly served you, I ask that you Kill me instead and spare the both of them. They are innocent,"
At that point his girlfriend and sister also began to silently wail for their lives, with it increasing until their loud cries became the only thing that could be heard echoing through the walls of the empty building they were all in.
"Please forgive Manny, he didn't mean to cross you," Manny's sister begged,
"Please don't hurt me, I'm innocent," Julia his girlfriend begged with tears in her eyes, staring up at Kahan with obvious fear in her eyes,
"You have ten seconds," was all Kahan said, cocking the gun in front of him before going ahead to wait in silence watching the instant drama he knew was bound to unfold.
For effect, Lario began counting without a shred of mercy in his eyes,
"Ten"
He had just spoken in a deep and ethereal voice that echoed in the lobby when Julia, Manny's girlfriend threw herself on him,
"Manny, please pick me. Please pick me," she openly begged not sparing a single look at his sister who equally stared at her brother with tears in her eyes and an expression of worry,
"Nine"
"You know how much I love you. How caring I am towards you. I swear to never leave you,"
"Eight"
"You would never find a prettier and more loyal girlfriend than me," she cried going as far as to pull his clothes, and turning his head back towards her the second he even tried to look at his sister,
"Sisterr…" Manny tried to call out the moment he noticed the way his sister looked at him with doubtful expressions on her face, not trying to beg or call out to him.
"I can't pick between the two of you," Manny suddenly yelled trying to get her attention,
"Five"
"Aaaahh… you hate me. What do you mean you can't pick between the both of us. Do you hate me that much? Is that how little I mean to you, " Julia screamed, her heart thumping hard in her chest, threatening to bust as she listened to the loud but continuous countdown.
"Four"
"Tell me you love me, tell me you love me goddamn itt…" she cried, weeping on his chest and allowing him to console her right before looking back up to stare into his eyes.
"I love you Julia, you know that butt…"
"But what? We-We're going to make a family together aren't we? A girl and a boy. W-We can even make it two boys iff…if that's what you want or do you think I'm that replaceable?" She cried tears streaming down her face as she openly begged him.
"One"
"Please Mannyy…please save my life,"
"Times up Manny, I don't have all day. Make your choice. Keep in mind that there's a high chance you won't be leaving here either," Kahan impatiently said just as Lario was about to speak again.
