Chapter 12 - Fool

"W-wha…" Teran stammered struggling to pull away from the strong hold around his waist only to find himself being pulled back even further until he found himself sitting right beside Kahan who had made space for him by shifting even closer to Araya who didn't seem to mind in the slightest as she felt Kahan's thigh against hers.

"Is this the best day of my life or what?" Araya thought, making sure to spread herself even more to create the illusion of there being little or no space left for her to move to.

"Hah…Kahan has always been like this," Erio explained when he saw the surprised expressions Teran was silently throwing at Kahan,

"He hates other people touching things he fancies…Ahah" Erio said chuckling as he talked before breaking into a cough when he felt Kahan's hot gaze on him.

"He doesn't fancy me he just enjoys toying with me," Teran thought, doing his best to make sure that no part of his body brushed Kahan's own, sensitive to every single movement of Kahan's thigh closing in on his own under the table.

"We might as well discuss the movie. It's your regular kind of action movie. The kind you prefer being starred in. With guns and everything," Erio began summarizing the movie in the best way he knew how.

"And just like every movie, love is important which is where Araya comes in. She 's the most likely person for the female lead in the movie who you fall for after she rescues you from dying from your injuries. The movie sounds so dreamy and…"

"Urgh…get to it Erio, I have other places to be," Kahan groaned cutting in and interrupting Erio before he went further talking about unnecessary things like he usually did,

"Oh…didn't I tell you? You're the male lead so you need to stay for the party happening this evening to meet the directors and other actors," Erio said gasping with a completely fake expression of shock on his face,

"Erio you know…"

"I know you don't like such things but this time around do it for your manager," Erio publicly begged placing both hands in front of him in a praying position not at all caring that they were in public.

Before he met him, Kahan was changing managers every month and the only reason he had been able to stick around for so long was his cute attitude which he didn't mind displaying whenever he needed to.

"Teran…please won't you stay too. You're part of the family too," Erio said speaking to Teran, who couldn't stop himself from smiling as he also found Erio's attitude to be quite endearing as he sent puppy eyes in Kahan's direction.

"For a few minutes…just a while Erio. After that don't ask me for anything more," Kahan sighed knowing what Erio was capable of if he continued to stubbornly refuse.

Once, he had even gone as far as hanging on to his legs pleading with him with tears running down his face as he struggled to escape.

Tears were his only strong weapons.

"That's great. The party is at five and it would be starting in about ten minutes. It's in the event hall on the fifth floor. I'll meet you there when you're done eating."

"I have to go meet some people," Erio said getting on his feet, moving closer to Kahan to whisper the rest of his words in his ears,

"In the meantime try and build chemistry with Araya. You're great at acting action scenes but your love scenes are still lacking," Erio said fleeing the moment he was done without looking back, already aware of the kind of expression Kahan was bound to have on his face.

Erik adjusted the black suit he was wearing which he had worn specifically for the evening dinner that the main directors of GMT were hosting as a way for other people in the industry to suck up to them and impress before hosting the main auditions.

The moment Erio left, Teran got up and sat on Erio's side of the table facing Kahan who also stared back at him with a look of annoyance on his face, half demanding to know why he got up.

Teran simply looked away, trying to hide the unsettling feeling he felt in his body.

Araya did nothing but sit with him not at all trying to start a conversation with him, his reputation of him snubbing women was too much for Araya to make such a rookie mistake.

But unknown to the three of them, a woman sat two tables away from them, intently staring at Kahan through the side of her menu, which she had been holding up for the past thirty minutes, paying no mind to what was written on it.

She wore a very noticeable sun yellow gown that got to her knees, with shoulder-length black hair, and big nerdy glasses on the bridge of her nose as she continued to concentrate, trying to glean every word she could from the interaction between the three people she was staring at.

"Why is he sitting beside that witch?"

"How dare she try to steal my man?" she thought with a look of fury in her eyes, biting her lips in apprehension at not being fully able to hear every word that was spoken,

"I'll have to teach her a lesson today but that also means that I can no longer let him continue doing whatever he wants," she muttered to herself, staring straight at Kahan who still wore his regular clothes, now on the phone ordering for someone to bring clothes that he and Teran could change into.

"But isn't it too soon to make him my husband? Still, what choice do I have? If I don't other women like her would surround him like flies," she thought and she continued to obsessively stare so much that she wasn't aware that a waiter was standing beside her until he spoke,

"Miss Riya," the waiter said, recognizing her as one of the regulars and also a famous top-tier actress regardless of the big glasses she wore even if he couldn't understand why she wore them in the first place.

"What would you like to order?" he asked watching her visibly jerk forward in her chair, completely stunned and surprised as he began apologizing for scaring her,

"Oh…I'm sorry, my mind was somewhere else," Riya replied in a soft and quiet tone looking down as she did so in a demure way that instantly adhered the waiter to her, without her really trying to,

"It's my fault, Miss Riya. I should have spoken more softly,"

"I haven't made up my mind to order yet since I just heard that there's a party upstairs. The wine alone is fine," she said continuing to speak in a soft and tiny voice finally looking up at the waiter to give him a soft smile that she was sure he wouldn't be able to resist.

Seeing his cheeks redden the second she did so.

"Oh…I understand," he replied, returning her smile and leaving as quickly as his legs could carry him, his heart thumping slightly in his chest,

"Fool. All men but my future husband are fools. But darling, today, I'm going to need to be one too," she whispered under her breath, picking her glass of wine and toying with it as she watched Araya, her sworn enemy slowly talk to Kahan with a pissed-off expression on her face.
