Unexpectedly the more they proceeded into the path they both thought was a way out, It got darker and the darkness kept getting thicker.
"Oh My God! I think this was a bad idea." Kayla mumbled underneath her breath, scared to her wits. She pulled out her phone from her trousers pocket. "F*ck it, no connection." She cursed. Kayla turned on the lights using her phone. Luckily she still had enough battery power left which made a sigh of relief escape her lips.
"Oh God be my guide." She prayed silently before slowly following the passage.
* * *
Alvira was getting more scared by the minute, every single step she took felt like a ticking time bomb to her. The gun shots had already ceased, couple with the numerous footsteps, but she didn't know if they were out of the danger zone yet. They both just had to find a way to leave this place. Safe.
The pathway leading was a rocky one, added with tough complexity, she was utterly confused of which to take. She earlier thought that both pathways they took will somehow lead them out of this complex alley. Little did she know that the one she chose to go with was the wrong one. She didn't know this. "I hope Kayla isn't facing the same thing." She whispered to herself.
The confusion was deep in root, she didn't know what way to go with, though hers wasn't clouded in darkness, infact candle lits were placed on the wall illuminating brightly. So she was able to see clearly.
She just couldn't wait to leave this place, for her it was good idea she and Kayla decided to go separate ways. Imagine both of them not getting the right path and being stuck together in one place, it won't be the best. Atleast now the one who comes out successfully shall surely come back for the other one after finding a way out.
"Arghh!"
Alvira halted and her eyes widen in fright, 'Did I just hear something?' She was so scared to even whisper to herself that she mentally asked. She blinked numerously to get herself together and just go with the conclusion that she was just imagining things.
"Urgh!" There it goes again, for sure she heard it this time. At this point Alvira felt like shading tears because scared was an understatement of what she was feeling like now.
The sound came again. 'It sounds like someone groaning out in pain." She told herself.
The voice kept echoing in pain. She slowly followed where the sound was coming from with her hearts in her throat. "Help me Lord." She murmured and moved on.
When she reached where the voice was coming from, it completely died down as if it had sensed her presence. But she persistently followed her instinct, she didn't know but something was drawing her there.
A Tall slender man was lying on the ground with his back leaned on the wall for support, His white shirt was bloody and torn like he was in some sort of fight. When she remembered the gun shots from earlier her eyes widen in realization. "Could he be the one they were talking about earlier that time?"
Without delay she rushed up towards him, she couldn't see his face because his head was down all the while, but it was clear he had a brownish hair colour and from the mode of his dressing, he looked like someone influential and important to the country.
The Man was till breathing but it was difficult for him.
"Mr?, Mr? are you okay Mr?" Alvira kept calling out to him but he didn't reply. She raised her hands up to lift his hair aside but her hands was stopped in the middle making her flinch a little by his unexpected movement. Her eyes stretched more out of fear.
His grip on her hand was so tight that she did not even had the courage to struggle out of his hold. He lifted his head up slowly. She could swear she saw his eyes change color.
"Leave!" He groaned to her.
"But..but Mr you are hurt." She persisted.
"I said leave!." This time it came out like a little roar to her, she could tell he was restraining himself or something. But Alvira being Alvira and as stubborn as she is, she outrageously refused. "Mr! You are badly injured, and need to be treated."
"Little girl... Get the hell out of here right now!" He bellowed, his voice getting scarier by every warning.
No doubt she was scared but leaving an injured person Alone without help was not part of her lifestyle, she knew if Kayla was here she would have sure dragged her and ran away but unfortunately it's otherwise.
"Mr, I don't know who you are or what you are doing here infact that isn't just my concern right now, if you know a way out of here could you please share so I could help you get to the hospital. Look you are dieing." Alvira worriedly mentioned gazing at the deep cut on his chest that was made with something like a knife and was bleeding profusely.
The young man was about to open his mouth to say something but Alvira hastenedly shut him up. "No sir, I'm not gonna leave you this way. Nothing you say can stop me."
The young man looked helpless after giving her a dangerous look and saw that it wasn't working with her. He sighed and leaned his head against the wall, breathing harshly. A smirk appeared on his thin lips before he released the arm he was holding. He pointed at a direction on a far end corner.
Alvira trailed her eyes following his stretched out hand pointing at a direction. The place he pointed didn't even look like an escape root and somehow she was doubting him. She turned to him and saw him staring daringly at her with a smug smile on his face, she didn't look away but got her eyes stuck on him as if she was reading something from that smile he portrayed.
