Chapter 8 - In Black

The room was booming with hysterical laughter, coming from no one else but Kayla. "Wait, wait let me get this straight, you forced him to eat the food you made? Al really?" Her words weren't even spoken completely because of the laughter broken in between a couple of sentences.

The sulking Alvira did nothing but stare and pout at her friend who was obviously throwing a mock at her. "Not like I forced him! it was literally for his own good." She opposed.

"Oh really? Oh come on don't make me laugh more." Kayla told her, trying to keep her laughter at bay. "Anything Cooking, or rather cooked maybe?"

"Suit yourself." Alvira whined before getting up and moving out of the room. Making more laughter to erupt from Kayla. "Throwing tantrums now huh? why being so childish." Kayla continued to mock without an utterance of resignation.

She followed Alvira into the leaving room. "Don't take it to heart okay?" She just couldn't stop there, the mischief in her eyes continued. "It wasn't my fault you forced an heir of a multi-billion company to have porridge." And there comes the series of laughter.

"You are so annoying Kayla!!" Alvira growled in annoyance.

"I'm sorry I can't help it."

Alvira fired her a glare of warning and threats. "Ok, ok I swear I'll stop. Happy Now?" Kayla gave a retort.

Alvira looked away. "How was work?"

Giving a smile Kayla hurriedly replied. "It was alright, except for Mr Fu's load of work, I guess I managed just fine. So you didn't go to work today, aren't you afraid that...you know Mrs bossy won't get mad at you?" Kayla asked worriedly.

"That's her business, I got Kathy to squat in for me." Alvira replied.

"Okay, that's great but I know she asked for something in return right?" Kayla asked with an amused expression.

"Of course, come on you know her don't you?"

"Of course I do, I didn't expect anything less."

They both laughed in agreement.

"I'm hungry Al!!" Kayla said shaking Alvira by the arm.

"No food for you." Alvira feigned anger.

"Please Darling!" Kayla said blinking her eyes trying to imitate a doll.

"It dosen't suit you."

"Please!!" Laying ignorance to Alvira disapproval she continued with her act.

"Fine, just this once."

"I love you." Kayla shrieked happily.

Towards the twilight hours, the three girls made their way holding hands on the street. The smell from all the street food coming from all centers got them distracted.

"Oh my, which do we start from?" Kathy the foodie amongst them said with joy.

"You know if you pay like you eat, it would have been a lot better." Kayla gave a contemptuous tsked.

"Hey! I wasn't talking to you okay. Al was the one who offered me dinner out, I don't even know what you are doing here." Kathy said muttering the last line.

"You imp." Kayla directed at Kathy.

Kathy stuck out her tongue, acting all childish to Kayla.

"You guys should just quit it!." Alvira was already fed up with their noise. "Look kath, the is a stand over there, you love roasted pork and lamb right. Let's go over there." Alvira curbed the situation.

"Sure! wait, they are gonna be some drinks right?" Kathy asked.

Rolling her eyes Kayla moved further without them to the pointed direction, waiting for them to get their selves sorted.

"Ahh sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Kayla apologized immediately.

"It's alright." The Person who she came in contact with said to her.

"I really didn't see you coming....I....I'm really sorry." Kayla tried her Best to salvage the situation. She was just about going to the stand she and the girls talked about when she accidentally bumped into someone, A man in black. He was akin to a professional guard. She apologized with haste knowing it was her wrong.

"It's fine." The man said to her seeing how delirious she was getting.

Kayla thought he was not accepting her apology because of how stiff he had his countenance, Abruptly he was in a haste and she could see him darting his eyes right above her shoulders like he was in search for someone—Or rather chasing someone.

"I have to go now. Bye." He muttered before sprinting off in a race. She did nothing but watch him run off till he disappeared from her sight.

"Wow!" She muttered absentmindedly.

"Kay! What's up? Who was that?" Alvira asked, having a thought in mind that Kayla might have gotten into some sorts of trouble with the stranger she saw her with less than a minute ago.

Kayla shrugged, giving them the 'nothing' look.

"Let's go get some street food!!" Kathy shrilled dragging them both along with her as they headed for the food stand.
