Chapter 7 - Truth

Doing nothing but watching TV with a bowl of popcorn since she had no work today. The boredom she was experiencing was clearly etched on her face, the TV she was watching did no justice to her lack of interest.

Alvira got up from the couch and picked up her bowl of popcorn and headed for kitchen. She was in the middle of doing the dishes when the news coming from the the TV hit her.

"At an abandoned alley, The abduction of the CEO of the Li empire took place. From the arrested criminals, they planned to kill him which came the firing of gun shot during that time. But due to police investigations, the CEO has not been found yet and the criminals have been taken into custody for further investigation till the CEO is found." The voice of the newscaster slowly faded after those particular words she spouted was getting sunk inside her head.

Alvira felt like she was at the peak of ignorance and was brutally splashed a bucket of ice chilled water. Holding on to the counter she desperately tried to balance herself. "CEO of...Li... The Li Empire?" She sputtered. Shocked from the new discovery.

She was still trying to put her head on the matter when her mobile rang bringing her back to reality. On the phone it was Kayla. She knew why Kayla will be calling her, but she picked it up. "Hello?"

Before her 'hello' could go across, Kayla had already beaten her to it. "Al? Did you see the news?" She mused in little whispers.

"Yes..I did Kay." Alvira responded, her surprised state not diminishing one bit.

"I didn't know he was the mysterious Heir of the Li." Kayla said with surprised trails in her tone.

"I..I am as surprised as you are kay." Alvira said looking so lost.

"I..I think I will get back to you later. Bye." Saying this, she ended the call. She needed time to think.

It was obvious right from time that he wasn't just a normal person. For God's sake he was someone way passed her league, she could tell from his dressing and looks, What made her to think otherwise?. She didn't know. What bothers her most was the fact that she! gave him porridge this morning, encouraging him that it will make him feel better. Something that was not even as enrich as the one sold in classy restaurants his type. No wonder the look he gave her, he must have eaten meals more better than that, Gush!! she wants to pull at her hair right now!!. And exactly that she did.

"How could you be so foolish Alvira!!, it was right in front of you! Urghh!" She shrieked at herself madly.

"Calm down, calm down, calm down." She kept saying like a mantra, Seeking inner peace. "But that was so embarrassing." Alvira muttered in a hush voice. She had an expression as if she was going to cry any minute now. Her behavior was in contrast to what she looked like previously.

_______

"Boss, the news had reached the HQ and most of them thinks it's accurate and are having a plan concerning you. Your absence for a week had boost their courage and they have decided to go on with their plans." The report was laid immediately they parked in front of the HQ.

"All of them?"

"No Boss, Majority of them are unaware of the situation."

"It's that so huh? Then I think today it's not the day to make my entrance. What do you say we watch this show for a while?" He said with a smile, more like a sinister smirk to be precise. The men understood that look. Something evilly inhumane danced In those dark iris making them glitter with deviousness.

_______

"Hey! why does it look like you are sulking?" Kayla asked Alvira who had her head on the bed, buried in beneath the pillow.

She had just gotten in, back from work. Then coming in to see her room mate looking all lazy, sluggish and sulky.

"You won't understand Kay" Alvira replied her, her voice barely audible.

"Mmm okay Anytime you say that it means you did something that you are embarrassed about, spill it." Kayla took a seat beside her on the bed. Well knowing Alvira for almost forever now of course she knows when something is up with her, for instance, Now!.

"The news!" Alvira whined childishly.

Kayla had a thinking expression before it clicked. "Oh you mean the News this morning? About the mysterious Heir of the Li's?. Come on why should that bother you. We saved him, took him to the hospital, nothing to worry about. We have no business with him anymore so?" Kayla said without concern.

"Like I said, you wouldn't understand."

"Like you always say I won't understand then spill b*tch!"

Alvira slowly brought her gaze to Kayla, raising it from the pillow. Her lips were pouted and eyes droopy. Eliciting a shock expression from Kayla, her mouth literally dropped open. "Please don't tell me you were crying?" Kayla whispered unbelievingly.

"It's utterly embarrassing."
