Chapter 4 - The Start of A New Life

"Whew, I almost thought you were going to deny my request for gravity magic for a second." Said Brandon as he felt relieved that his request was accepted by God.

[I thought about it, but it's not that serious of a situation. Plus, you could've asked for worse like time magic or chaos magic. So I'm content.]

...

"Those were options?" Asked Brandon in a perplexed manner.

[Not at all. They would've been rejected the moment you asked.]

"Figures."

[Lets now start on your physical features before I finish this up. How would you want your new self to look, and what name do you want in your next life? You can keep everything the same if you wish though.]

"Just make me look similar to you except with red eyes. Also, I want a new name so let me think for a bit."

[You want my face?] asked God in a confused manner.

(What is this child up to? Every request out of his mouth becomes more strange than the last.)

"Sure, you're handsome enough, and I'm not here to enjoy myself. I have a mission and that's to be the strongest and win this contest. Why should I care about appearances too much?"

[A logical point, I can find no reason to argue so we will go with this. And for your name?]

"Michael Corvinus"

[Thats actually a very fine name. You honestly keep impressing me child.]

[Well everything important is done now so this is our time for small talk. The world you're entering is a version of Earth that has the same continent system as your old Earth. One important aspect to remember, different races inhabit this world as well as humans.]

God pauses his next statement so he can gauge Michael's facial gestures. To his surprise, Michael just nods his head waiting on the next part.

[Aren't you excited about the experience of running into Elves, dragons, devils, and vampires? Almost every other champion in the past would lose their composure at this point.]

"I'm only here to beat every opponent I face, those races don't exist in my mind. They're nothing more than obstacles." Said Michael with a stoic expression

[Child, you have to learn to enjoy your new life. I know your last life was more than fulfilling but that's the past, do not let it shape your future.]

"Then would you prefer I indulge myself, my lord?"

[*Sigh* just forget it and let's continue our conversation.]

[You will be assigned a familiar whose sole job is to assist you. All champions require a familiar so don't think you're special because of this. Your familiar is your guide and your support, so treat them well.]

[I know I'm not giving a lot of information but that'll be your familiar's task, I'm bound by an oath to reveal as little as possible. You have my apologies but this is how the competition is designed.]

[Im about to ready to send you off, when you wake you'll wake up on your twelfth birthday in a new body and a new life. Have fun and show me how much better you are than your competitors. I'm looking forward to how you use your gifts in this new life. Any last words?]

"Is godhood truly a prize for defeating everyone else?" Asked Brandon, he has a glint cross his eyes and many thoughts flood across his brain

[Yes, and since you won't ask I'll answer your unasked question that's been on your mind. If you can ascend to godhood then you can visit your old world, and family.]

"Then I have nothing left for me here, I'm ready to start this!" Michael was hoping that if he won then he could go back and make sure that they're alright. He didn't care for a grand entrance and dramatic reunion. He just needed to confirm that they were safe and alright. And since he got the answer he was hoping for, he was ready to start right away.

"This world will be fun." Said Michael as he was starting to get excited the more he thought about his new adventure.
