When the voice had ended it felt like the room they were in had been compressed in on itself as their surroundings changed to a starry wonderland and quickly to that of a simple town. Where all the participants had appeared outside of the gates.
This modest village wasn't modest in size at all as they couldn't see where it's borders ended standing at the gates.
Suddenly a loud male voice came from the gates, "All labyrinth participants quickly enter the gates once inside we will explain to you how to undergo your training and all of you will receive your rations for the month as well as you living quarters." When he finished speaking the gates that had an odd maze design on them opened up and the participants walked through.
After about an hour all the participants had entered the town, on the inside of the gates they were greeted by another high tech city sight. However that was the surroundings. Directly past the gate was an area large enough to fit 10 times the number of participants there currently was in front of them was a large screen on the side of a building that was about 600yds wide and 400yds tall.
Once all participants entered the gates to the town closed behind them as the large screen lit up and a man appeared on the screen.
"Welcome to the labyrinth where it's possible that your dreams can come true or your road could end. Inside the building this screen is located there are 50 floors each floor has 1,000 representatives that will give you your rations and assign you your living quarters."
"However before that I like to tell the new people a few things, I'm sure there are some of you here that actually have no idea what the labyrinth is, and I know there probably even more that don't want to risk their life in the first trial. So I am here to explain a few things that the labyrinth's will won't tell you."
"The trials aren't mandatory and you have the option to participate in them or not, after you've passed a trial you can also move freely back in forward in the labyrinth you just can't participate in the same trial twice."
"As far as the first trial goes it is optional upon the condition you forfeit your natural rights and become strictly an employee for the newby village of the labyrinth. By the way my name is Abaddon the first ranked explorer, good luck in your travels in the labyrinth grow strong and join a good faction. The grand prize of the labryinth would grant its winner a single wish what is there to lose if there's the chance to gain the world!" With this the screen displaying the handsome devilish figure of Abaddon went black as the chatter of the contestants rose to its peak while many doors on the side of the building automatically began to open.
The contestants flooded into the building to recieved their rations and instructions from this newbie village staff.
Van and his group were in the back of the crowd so they would end up having to wait a bit longer before getting inside, however they too talked about the number one ranked person in the labyrinth addressing everyone.
"What do you guys think about what he said will you all participate or call it quits and become an employee." Lucia asked not really knowing the temperaments of the people she was in a group with yet.
"I will win no matter what." Van said while still looking at the screen and clenching his fist. This surprised his group because none of them had expected this response from each other. But it also lit a fire in them to make them want to participate.
Every odd was stacked against him yet instead of laying down and just participating for rewards he was determined to win, they didn't know if he was a mad man or what was going on in his head. All they knew was they wanted to see what he was capable of.
