Chapter 35 - Registering a Faction

After what seemed like an hour of waiting it was finally Van and the groups turn to receive their living quarters.

They decided to all go at once to see if they could get their living quarters located in relatively the same area. They we're surprised to find out there were many different types of living orders as they talked to the staff member that assigned living quarters.

"We offer our services to best accommodate the participants of the labyrinth, first there are two sections for living quarters, for those that will become true labyrinth champions and participate in the first trial, and for those that were unfortunate enough to come here and decide not to participate in the first trial."

"Mind you this is you one and only opportunity to decline participation in the first trial, if you decline you will not receive training on your awakened ability also it is required you begin working immediately." The clerk said surprising Van's group. This place seemed a lot more complicated and advanced than they first thought.

However, when all of them thought back to the planet level system and the levels of their home planets it only made sense that this secret place "The Labyrinth" had some special reasons for being a secret from the general public.

"We will be participating." Van plainly told the clerk the only reason he hadn't cut the guy off as any new information about a foreign place was good information, still he wanted to get to their quarters as soon as possible so they could begin their preparations.

"Great! good luck in your journeys through the labyrinth. For our participants you have a few choices there are individual living quarters with a kitchen a bathroom a training room and a relaxation room that contains all the amenities you can find on any planets within the universe." Hearing this truly shocked Van and his group it sounded like living luxury they basically provided everything that any person could ask for and at no cost.

But was it really free? The group didn't reply and waited for the staff member to continue.

"We also have team living quarters by registering for a team living quarter you will forfeit the opportunity to join any faction in the future and will be required to form your faction now. The team living quarters come with the same amenities and the individual ones however in higher quantity for this first trial they come with 10 rooms a training grounds 5 times larger than the individual training room and a relaxation chamber in the form of an arcade and theatre."

Hearing that they would be required to create and Join a faction by selecting the team living quaters Elise, James, Todd, and Lucia all had some reservations. However once they remembered the game they would be playing was dead or alive the thought it would be best for them to stick with the group. If death was inevitable it'd be more easily deterred if you were more resolute and fixed on the route you would travel.

The group registered for the team living quarters, while registering the new faction under the name 'Magnus'. Their living quarters got stuck in the south side of the city, and they also recieved a small bag that was actually a storage device that held enough rations for them for almost a year. Each one of them received a bag of rations with this much food. The storage device also contained a map of the newbie city along with a card assigned to them with their name, picture and percentage of completion in the labyrinth.

They we're to use these Labyrinth I'd cards to register and participate in trials without it they would be disqualified from any trial they attempted to participate in.

The ID card also doubled as a storage for currency and the points they would receive for completing trials and their achievements in the labyrinth.

There was a plethora of shops within the different levels of the labyrinth where they could use their points to buy food, clothes, weapons, medicine and more.

On their way to their living quarters they saw many of these shops set up, and they had automatically received 10,000 points on their labyrinth ID card for not backing out of the first trial. They made a group decision to save these points for closer to the time of the trial where they would get supplies that would help their chances of making it out alive.

However Van had different plans he didn't want to make it out alive he wanted the first position. It wasn't a team competition but an individual on, he was just lucky enough to had formed a team so early on in the labyrinth.
