Before making it to their living quarters they passed a cell phone shop, since arriving Max's cell phone had lost signal even though it was marketed as an interstellar communication device.
Seeing the cell phone shop they immediately decided that if these were usable during trials they would be completely necessary and worth whatever price so they collectively decided to enter the shop.
Upon entering the say a plethora of advanced devices. Some had the shape of a normal cell phone while others had were simply a marble sized ball that would project a holographic screen.
As soon as they entered the shop they were greeted by a hostess. She was medium height with fire red hair. Her eyes were a bright yellow making her look as exotic as they came. Her exotic features made whatever average form her face had look like a goddess.
"Hi I am Alexis and I'll be your clerk for today! How may I help you explorers, would you like for me to show you our selection or would you like to look around yourselves? Also don't be frightened by the prices you will be allowed to obtain whatever you'd like with a payment plan as long as you are participating in the trial. If you have any questions feel free to ask them." The hostess had a very cheery attitude, after greeting them the hostess paused and waited for a reply from anyone in the group that just entered.
The group was still looking in awe at the advanced technology in the room. Max unconsciously responded thinking about how advanced the technology here was compared to his previous world "I am going to look around." And with that he started walking to all the different phones and reading their description.
[WIN Ball- World Interstellar News Ball stay connected with those in any part of the labyrinth and those back home with the WIN Ball. This device features a fully holographic interface with ability trackers, video communication, and programable directives! Starting price, 500,000 labyrinth points. (Price increases based on how many programable directives the buyer wants)]
The group had followed behind max because they were starstruck and didn't want to be left behind.
Looking at the things in this cell shop was one thing but seeing the prices quickly brought back a sense of reality. 500,000 for a base model device they only had collectively 70,000 as a group and didn't know what they would receive for making it through the trial.
Still they continued to look around to see what all the devices in the labyrinth were capable of.
[Zion Glasses- the premier communication of the labyrinth, fully equipped with 10 miniature WIN ball's with 2 programable directives each, in addition the glasses can either fold into a flat screen like a traditional cell phone or can be worn and display information, comes with a mapping system to help map the places you've discovered, (note only maps trial locations.) Comes with trial mapping technology as well as fully capable of labyrinth communications and worldly communications. Set price, 10,000,000 points]
After seeing this one the group decided they needed to look at the cheaper items. Because these prices were getting out of hand for their measly 10,000 points.
"Can you show us some cheaper phones." Max finally asked after seeing all the monstrous prices they had on so many devices.
"Of course follow me to the beginner selection that most newbies choose." The hostess replied while walking in a certain direction towards more normal looking phones.
[Crux- A basic communication device capable of labyrinth communications also with a video communication. Set price, 5,000 points]
[Emanation- more advanced version of crux with the addition of worldly communications. Set price 10,000]
[See'er- comes with the same features as crux and emanation with the added possibility of one programable directive price, 60,000]
All three devices had the rectangular shape of a normal cell phone out of everything this shop had to offer these were the only basic looking cellular devices.
"This is unfortunately our complete selection under 100,000 points let me know if you have any questions." The hostess said while stepping to the side allowing the group to continue looking at the selection.
After a short discussion Lucia, James, and Todd decided they would get the WIN ball with one additional programable directive finding out the base model came with 3 directives stock. They made this decision because if they truly wanted to survive having communication and additional help through technology was always a great boon.
They each made a down payment of 5,000 points leaving their remaining balance at 495,000 points each. They we're just happy they didn't have to use all their points to get a device, the win ball would float around them and was the size of a marble so they could easily store it in their pocket to hide it.
Elise and Erika opted to getting the Zion glasses as they were more confident in the groups capabilities and even if the group failed they believed they would make it through along side Van and Max. They too only put 5,000 down bringing their remaining total to 2,995,000.
Van and Max were the ultimate edge lords in the eyes of the hostess, Lucia, James, and Todd as they opted to getting the Paradiso. Just looking at the capabilities that the device had regardless of its cost eventually it would be paid for, for now it was just even more drive to win and come out on top.
Now as a group they had 35,000 remaining points and decided they would save them until the trial was about to begin. After receiving their devices they headed straight towards their living quarters, everyone wanted to rest especially those from the orphanage as it had been a fairly chaotic day.
