"What is a magic wand?"
"It's a tool for—" Alice paused as she was about to explain. It's useless, it seems the magicians here don't use magic wands. It's better if he doesn't have to explain. "The point is, I can't use magic."
"You really can't use magic? Don't you cast spells?"
Alice hastily shook her head. "No. If I could use magic or cast spells, I would have freed myself from earlier."
"Oh, you're right too. So you're not a witch. Okay, let's assume you're just a human with a unique scent. What's your name sweetie?"
"My name is Alice...." she should have had a last name, only she suddenly forgot her full name. Alice stunned herself, dang, what's her last name?
"Alice, huh? What a beautiful name. My name is Noah. By the way, thanks to you. I'm the man you wanted to save this afternoon. Even so, you didn't have to save me."
"Eh, that is you? What about your wound?" Alice barely recognized him.
"Of course it heals right away…, the moment we step foot out of the castle." Noah didn't say the exact time, to be exact he recovered when they came out of Renésmee's room. It's really nothing.
There was admiration on Alice's face and it was soon replaced by a smile full of relief.
"Good, then, have you been able to get this chain off my hands?" Alice should have earned Noah's trust.
Noah was silent for a while then finally advanced toward the stone bed. "Alright," he took out the key and touched the chain in Alice's right hand. Before the key slipped into the lock, a gust of wind carried a bad smell that made Noah step back from the stone bed. "Oh. No!"
"Why?" Alice thought Noah had changed his mind and had no intention of freeing her.
"I can't set you free now." Noah's nose kept twitching and contracting as the stench of the foul-smelling blood grew stronger. "There's no mistaking it, it stinks of a Vampire."
"But I'm not a Vampire." Alice didn't understand why she suddenly smelled like a Vampire?
"Not you, Alice. Those rotten vampires are here. They're moving closer to the castle." Noah turned and headed for the door, before leaving he looked at Alice again to give her a word of advice, "don't make any noise while I'm gone. They can hear it even from the castle grounds. I'll be back to untie the chains later."
"I won't be noisy." After that Alice covered her mouth and calmed herself down. She believed Noah would return to untie the chains.
Noah and a few people gathered in the main courtyard to greet the Vampires. There were about a dozen Vampires in the castle grounds. They came wearing armor and protection.
"What are you guys doing here dressed like that?" Noah is a gamma, so it's fitting that he does the talking. Moreover, Vincent was still recovering and no one knew what the second strongest wolf was up to. That one is a lone wolf. Maybe he's contemplating himself and hiding after hitting Vincent this afternoon.
"What we're using is just preparation. Something bad seems to be happening in this land. Didn't you guys experience the storm of darkness that occurred this afternoon? I heard it's happening all over the land of Eden. That darkness also covers the White Castle in the North and the South Kingdom. "
Noah had heard it this afternoon. The darkness that happened this afternoon didn't just happen in the Seth Valley—where the werewolves live—the darkness storms were everywhere. Even the Vampires of the Abel Valley came here and complained about it.
Fortunately the strange incident did not cause any serious damage. It was not like an earthquake or other natural disaster. The only problems that followed after the storm of darkness were the disappearance of Renésmee and now the appearance of this army of vampires.
"The darkness is here too and we have nothing to do with it, if that's what you're looking for."
"Hah… we know, rotten dogs like you guys can't possibly create such a big storm of darkness."
Tch! They are werewolves, werewolves not dogs.
Just hearing it made Noah's ears blister. His canine teeth started to stick out, chattering with anger. He could have attacked the arrogant vampire straight away, only Noah knew what he was doing would only lead to division or even war.
They had just made a truce after the Exodus War. They had just made a truce after the Exodus War. He can deal if another war exploded over something trivial like this
"Then what exactly did you guys want by coming all the way here?"
"We're looking for our Queen, Leah. She disappeared this afternoon." Oh?
Noah doesn't care about the Vampire Queen who is said to have disappeared. He had never even seen the woman or even knew what she looked like. But it is said that the woman is still related by blood with Renésmee, the missing Luna. Maybe it is the reason that these Vampires came looking for Leah all the way to Seth Valley.
"It is common knowledge that your leader likes to take women from our faction. Who knows if this time you will also take Leah from us?"
Noah knew the accusations were not unfounded. Because Renésmee is a half-vampire human. Vincent, who in fact is a werewolf, snatches Renésmee from the Vampires Land almost by force.
Even though the Vampire King had approved of Renésmee's departure from the Abel Valley, until now there were still some Vampires who didn't like that fact and this vampire in front of him seemed to be one of those people.
"We have nothing to do with the missing Vampire Queen," said Noah.
"Then where is your leader? Why doesn't he appear to greet us! Is he trying to hide Leah while we're talking here?" again the arrogant vampire made his accusations.
Noah couldn't possibly say that Vincent was hurt. He couldn't let these vampires know that the pack's strength was being reduced by half. Who knows if these vampires just want to wreak havoc and tear down Grégory Castle, and eliminate Vincent. Noah has to protect everyone.
Just as Noah was at a loss for an answer to the accusation, heavy footsteps were heard and the castle door swung wide open with a loud thud.
Vincent appeared in the doorway dressed in an Alpha's oversized robe. He stood up gallantly and swept the vampires with his gaze.
Seeing Vincent's arrival, Noah secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, Vincent recovered in time. Now it's just a matter of convincing the vampires that they don't know anything about Leah.
"The queen is not here!" said Vincent in a booming voice.
