Chereads / How To Break The Werewolf's Heart / Chapter 7 - Vincent in Human Form

Chapter 7 - Vincent in Human Form

"I could break that chain but I can't promise I won't break your hand either. Want to give it a try?"

"Eh? Then I'll just wait for Noah."

Alice was indeed brave but how could she try something with obvious risks. This man in front of her must be the big bad wolf type. Remind Alice not to deal with him again after leaving this castle.

"Wise choice." Vincent turned and left after hearing Alice's decision,

The dungeon became even quieter than before. Alice wasn't sure if she could sleep like this or wait until dawn. She stayed up for some time in discomfort before finally falling asleep to the caress of the night air.

Alice was awakened by the sound of the metal door opening.

"Alice, sorry to keep you waiting so long." Noah rushed in and immediately unlocked the chains in Alice's hands.

It's all because of Vincent telling him to take the rotten vampires. In fact this chain key is not the only one, there is still a spare key. Vincent can just ask for it.

Alice tried to get up and felt as if she had broken her spine. Sleeping all night on the stone table was harder than Alice thought. She could still handle the feeling of sleeping on a tree root but this was much worse.

"You must be suffering here." Someone else behind Noah commented, a woman standing in the shadows.

"That damn bastard! He should have treated a woman better." Noah helped Alice to her feet.

"He's an Alpha who already has a mate, it's only natural that he treats other women like trash." The woman defended Vincent.

"Hah! Now that his mate is gone, he should be able to appreciate a woman more."

"Precisely because his mate disappeared, he ought to be wary. Especially when a beautiful woman came out of nowhere." She advanced to take over Alice. "Let her come with me."

"Bella, did Vincent tell you to take Alice away from me?" Noah moved to stop her.

Isabella Richard, this woman… She was the one who held the spare key to the dungeon but she didn't say anything. She should have handed the key to Vincent so that Alice could be freed.

"All werewolves know that you always side with Vincent." So Jacob obviously couldn't trust Bella. It has become common knowledge among werewolves and there are no rules against it. The women can move freely among the men to find their mate.

"Then, will things change if I bring this woman to Vincent? Will he suddenly fall in love with me?"

The answer was absolutely NO. Falling in love is not something they can control. Werewolf men only fall in love once in their lives and Vincent is out of Bella's reach when he meets Renésmee.

Noah keeps trying to protect Alice from Bella. But the woman was suddenly more agile than him and in the blink of an eye had Alice in her arms.

"Hmm… You smell good. it's only natural that Noah likes you." In her current position, Bella is like being buried in a pile of snow in winter. Alice's pheromones are refreshing and at the same time give off an unexpectedly sweet scent.

Bella glanced at her meaningfully. Maybe wondering in her mind, who Alice really is.

Alice greeted Bella's gaze. She also wanted to know whether the woman who was supporting her at this time could be trusted or not? Who knew she was like the bad guy from last night.

"Are you fascinated by me, blonde lady?" she asked.

"Eh… me?" That is true. Alice was mesmerized by the beauty. Bella was really pretty, she was probably almost as pretty as the White Queen. Alice's memory of the White Queen's appearance seemed to fade as she tried to remember.

[ For sure she is as beautiful as a queen! ]

"Do you still want to follow Noah or come with me?"

Bella still gave Alice a choice even though she was already in her hands. Alice knew that Noah was a good man but she felt that Bella would take better care of her. After all, they are both women.

"I'll come with you," said Alice.

"Did you hear that, Noah?" Bella showed off her victory. After all, Alice will still follow Bella no matter what she chooses.

"Don't try to touch her, Bella. I'm warning you, she's mine."

"Oh! Have you seen anything on her or have you got the mark?" Bella glanced at Noah's arm and couldn't find the mark that was supposed to be there. "Aha, not yet, right? Then you have no right to say anything to me."

Alice followed Bella out of the dungeon room. They walked through the castle and went to the bathing pool at the back of the castle.

The weather outside was crisp, the cool spring breeze was cold against Alice's skin. While the water in the bathing pool is warm due to exposure to the sunburnt. The combination of the two is perfect and gives her the perfect bath time.

Alice couldn't remember the last time she showered. It felt like she hadn't touched water in a long time and made herself clean. Bella prepared a few changes of clothes for her and even helped her clean her hair.

Bella helped Alice without saying anything. She didn't even ask who Alice was or where she came from. It just… Bella kept looking at Alice from time to time, her eyes never leaving Alice.

"Thank you for everything." Alice was confused after Bella finished doing her hair. She was clean, wearing a new dress—although simpler than her previous one, it was beautiful—and even her hair was styled adequately.

Bella still hadn't spoken or responded to Alice.

"Aren't you going to ask me anything?" or at least say something. Alice was completely confused. She even begins to question the kindness that Bella has given her.

"Your name is Alice and you appeared in Renésmee's room after the dark storm. I don't need to know where you came from or how you got into Renésmee's room. All I know is Noah wants to help you while Vincent seems more interested in killing you straight away."

Apparently Bella already knew the outline but she didn't seem bothered or curious about Alice at all. To think that Alice is just a hostage.

"Is there anything else I need to know?" Bella is a straightforward and charming woman. Her dark brown hair fell on her shoulders, her eyes were large and gray. Her gaze is deep and meaningful.

"Then allow me to ask… What exactly is this place? Whose castle is this and who rules here?" There were actually many things Alice wanted to know. She could make her list all day long if she wanted to.

For now Alice just wanted to know who was in charge of this castle and who she could turn to for help.

"Oh, and if I may ask . . . who is Vincent?" Alice had heard that name over and over again from Noah's mouth and Bella had mentioned it too.

Vincent… In Alice's mind, that should be the name of the big bad wolf that tried to attack her yesterday. He sounded like a man who had great and important influence in this place.

Noah is a werewolf and he can turn into a big wolf. Then the big bad wolf that attacked her yesterday must have had a human form. What will it look like?

Alice was also curious about the man who visited her last night.

[ Don't tell me, could that man be Vincent in human form? O, no…. ]
