Heh, who stopped Noah from helping Alice?
Alice thought she didn't say anything wrong. She just didn't want to trouble Noah.
"Are you one of Jacob's suitors? You came into this castle because you wanted to meet him, right?" Apparently Noah wasn't done with his complaints yet.
"So how did it go? I thought you weren't as successful as other women, instead you kept causing trouble for him."
It's true Alice did cause trouble for Jacob but she didn't understand what Noah was complaining about. She wasn't a Jacob suitor who had come to this place to see that man.
Noah became even more annoyed that Alice seemed to feel guilty. "Stop hoping for him because he already has an imprint. Don't you see his left arm? He wouldn't glance at a woman other than Nessy."
[ Nessy? Isn't that Vincent's partner? ]
Alice didn't want to try to understand the complexity of the love affair between these wolves. She just nodded his head as if he understood. "Uh... okay."
"Tch!" Noah was utterly disappointed and annoyed with Alice. Even though he had confessed to Bella that Alice was his, it turned out that Alice was one of Jacob's fans. "You said you could do it yourself right? Do it then, just finish it yourself. I don't care anymore."
[ Uh? This one wolf seems a little childish. ]
Noah let Alice finish the bandage herself while he lay on the bed and just watched Alice. He wished he could have a vision of Alice.
"Huh… looks like we're not matched either." Noah started to grumble again when he saw Alice finish bandaging her wound. "The elders said I would immediately have a vision if I met my mate. Though I wish I could see something from you."
"What kind of vision?" Alice innocently asked.
"Heh, what else do you think men might imagine when they see their true love? It should be something exciting."
Alice shuddered when Noah mentioned the vision had to do with 'something' exciting. Luckily Noah said he couldn't get any visions with her. Alice had to be careful with this kind of man or she might have to be careful with these wolves.
"Hey, I'm old enough for it. I should be able to get visions when I meet the right woman. But it's really hard to find a woman like that. Miss, it seems there are a lot of things that you don't, huh?"
"I… I would be very happy if you would share about these matters in the Seth Valley. With the kindness you have done to me, maybe it will make it easier for you to find your mate."
"You mean I have to treat you well and then I might be able to see something with you?"
[ Uh? No. ] That's not what Alice meant.
"Okay. I'll be nice to you. First of all, my advice is to give up on Jacob and stay away from him."
"Why? He's a nice guy, he helped me."
"Because he's not a normal wolf. I told you earlier, he already has an imprint. He saw visions with women he shouldn't have seen."
"What is that imprint mark?"
"It is a sign for us who have reached maturity and see visions with a woman. The mark will appear on our left hand."
"Oh? I've seen it." Alice did see some strange tattoo on Jacob's left hand, apparently it was an imprint.
"We can only get that mark once in a lifetime and there will only be one woman we see. By the way, we are the most loyal men in the Land of Eden. If you're lucky, maybe your mate is one of us, maybe it's me. In this place, one man was created for only one woman and one woman for one man."
[ That's good. How wonderful it would be if the world was like that. ]
"Jacob is a mess. He saw Nessy in his vision when Nessy was with Vincent."
To Alice Jacob sounded like a brother-in-law peeking at his brother's wife. That goes against what Noah just explained. "How did it happen?"
"I don't know, no one knows. The elders only thought maybe because Nessy was a mixed blood. She's a half-vampire, so she might have two opposing fates."
"She's a Vampire? Not a wolf?"
"Yeah, she's a vampire. Our partner can be from any race. Mostly, wolves again but not infrequently we have a match with ordinary humans."
"Didn't you say Vampires are evil creatures?"
"Well, that doesn't mean there isn't anything good between them. I still don't recommend you deal with them, Alice. You seem to have a strange blood, it stings very strongly. I can smell it even from outside the castle."
"Impossible."
"That's the reality. If it weren't for the smell of your blood I wouldn't have come to the library to help you."
"Wait… yesterday you said I smell like snow. Now you say my blood smells strong?"
"Yes, you are a strange woman Alice. You shouldn't have come here, we're close to the Abel Valley and it will be a tragedy if you catch up with a vampire. They would just eat you."
"Ugh. Well, indeed. "Alice and Noah share a meaningful glance. She shouldn't be here.
"Did I order you to bring her here to share a bed?"
"Vincent!"
Alice and Noah immediately alerted when they saw the man's arrival. Vincent's gaze was sharp and filled with a murderous aura.
"Vincent, please stop! You heard what happened to the Vampire Queen. I believe Alice is innocent. You can't kill her."
"If I wanted to kill her, I would have killed her in the library earlier."
Does that mean Alice is safe now?
[ Oh. I'm grateful. Then why is his eyes still sharp like that? ]
"Get down from Nessy's bed!" Vincet gave the order.
Oh? No wonder. Noah understood and immediately moved, Alice followed after Noah for fear of offending Vincent.
"Who told you to come down?" Vincent looked at Alice with an even sharper look.
"Didn't you tell us to come down?" Noah spoke for Alice.
"I just told you to come down. Why did she have to follow you down, is she your partner?"
Vincent glanced at Noah's arm, just in case he had gotten an imprint because of Alice.
"Let us talk alone."
Noah was a little hesitant. Can Vincent talk to Alice? Vincent wasn't tricking him into leaving Alice in his hands and killing her, was he?
"Okay… just talking, right?"
