Noah was gone and Vincent had been staring at Alice for a long time but he hadn't spoken.
"So… What did you want to talk to me about?" she asked.
Vincent didn't answer right away. He stepped to the other side of the bed, took his place, just started to speak, "Come closer then I will talk."
Even though he had been told to go back to bed, Alice had not moved. She was still standing like an idiot.
"Come here…"
Alice stepped around the bed and stood some distance in front of Vincent.
"How many times do I have to give you orders?" Vincent was starting to lose his temper.
"Come closer!"
Alice took a few steps forward towards the side of the bed where Vincent was sitting. They should be able to talk straight away. Why do you have to be close?
Alice was already standing closer. She still didn't understand how close Vincent wanted to be. Until Vincent had to stretch out his arms and pull Alice so that she fell into his lap. Then he carried Alice in his arms, just like the vision he had seen earlier.
[ Tch! Am I really hugging her? ]
That vision has come to reality.
Vincent looked at Alice who was in his arms. His eyes were cold, dark and piercing, even now that killing aura had not dimmed. Alice didn't dare look at him for too long.
"Ugh…" Vincent's left arm throbbed in pain, he nearly knocked Alice down.
Luckily the woman had felt Vincent's hand shaking earlier, she automatically gained a grip by wrapping her arms around Vincent's neck.
As Alice's weight tugged at him, Vincent looked at her again. An image crossed his mind as he looked into Alice's eyes.
[ That vision… ]
Vincent threw Alice onto the bed. The gnashing of teeth and ragged breaths sounded erratic. Vincent's blood boiled with exasperation. He could still remember his memories with Nessy clearly while the vision he saw just now…
[ What's with that crazy vision!? ]
Then this strange instinct that enveloped his heart?
Vincent just had an imprint vision with Alice.
[ This is impossible! Nessy was supposed to be the only woman I would ever see. ]
The refusal made the imprint on Vincent's arm throb again. The signal traveled and squeezed his heart. Especially when Alice spoke:
"Sorry I didn't mean to..." teased?
Alice didn't know why she should apologize. It was the man who grabbed her first and hugged her carelessly. So now he's angry?
[ Was he trying to find another reason to kill me? ]
"Stop thinking bad about me!" Vincent suddenly hissed. "If you can, don't even think about me if you don't want me to kill you."
Alice was silent, could Vincent read her mind?
How could he not think about Vincent at all?
Alice is just being wary, isn't that okay too?
"If you don't intend to kill me, then may I go home?"
"Go home?" The more Vincent responded to Alice, the worse his feelings became. He could have kicked Alice out of the castle right now but something inside him roared loudly, telling him to stop Alice. "You won't leave this castle until Renesmee is found."
But it wasn't Alice's fault… the missing woman or the strange phenomenon that brought her here. Well, even though Alice still didn't know how to get home, maybe she really needed to stay in this castle but live with a big bad wolf like Vincent?
Could Alice have asked for another place that was safer and more comfortable?
"Alright," Alice finally compromised with Vincent.
It seemed that Alice's mind had started to clear up. Vincent could feel the bad effects he was feeling were lessening. He only glanced at Alice, afraid that another even crazier vision would appear.
"Stay in this room and don't come out until I let you out."
"Eh? But—" Why is she being like a prisoner again?
Her hands or feet are not chained but if he can't go anywhere what's the difference?
"Blonde, everyone here knows that you are an intruder. Would you mind just trying to roam outside? Don't blame me if a wolf appears and suddenly rips your body apart."
Alice listened to Vincent's reasons for keeping her in this room. He might not be as bad as Alice thought. There was good intent in his decision. Vincent just needs to learn to choose good words for him to use so that it is easier for people to understand his good intentions.
"Give me some time to explain to them," Vincent said with sofly sound.
"Okay, thank you."
Vincent turned and left, he pretended not to hear the woman. He didn't need Alice's gratitude. He needed more explanation about the vision he saw and also… Renésmee.
…
"How was the search result?" Vincent looked at his flock.
First the reports from Liam and Oscar, "we couldn't find anything in the west."
Then Don and Margareth, "there is nothing in the east as well. No one saw or smelled her."
Lastly Simon and Walt, "you know, Vince. She hadn't been to the north in a long time. Someone will report to us if she did go there or crossed the border."
"Okay, I understand." Vincent seemed more patient than usual. He should have gone berserk because their report was bad, yet he just accepted it glumly.
"How is your condition?" Walt asked somewhat worriedly. By the way he is Watson's twin. Even though he didn't understand the matter of potions or medicine, he was one of the people who cared the most about the condition of each member in the pack herd.
"I am much better now."
"Can you feel anything about Renésmee now?" asked Margaret, the only woman among them.
A mate's instincts should be stronger. They can sense the presence or condition of their partner. Strangely, Vincent couldn't feel anything. "Nessie…. she should be fine."
Walt elbowed Margareth so he wouldn't put too much pressure on Vincent about Renésmee.
A werewolf abandoned by his partner is in a state of emotional emergency. Not many werewolves can stand it. They can get sick, go crazy or at worst they can no longer live without a mate.
The biggest help they have done is to continue to support Vincent, make sure he is okay and find Renésmee back.
"Then what about that woman?" Liam changed the subject.
"The blonde who was protected by Jacob?" Oscar was at the forefront of besieging Alice yesterday.
"Did he give us any good information?" Don was curious too.
While Simon even has his own presumptions. He said, "Jacob probably brought her in. Why do you think he went to the trouble of protecting that woman?"
"Eh? Why did he bring—"
"Enough!" Vincent cut off the annoying debate. He only said a few more words that Alice might be innocent but she would be detained until Renésmee was found.
"Okay, we understand. Gale and the people from Pack Oxley have already set off after the Vampires for the Southern Kingdom. Let's hope they come back with useful information."
"Hm," Vincent hoped so too.
When their report was finished, Watson entered Vincent's room with a senior. "Uncle Yu!"
Everyone gave a sign of respect before finally leaving Vincent with the senior.
Yudas Griffiths or the werewolves of the other herd called him Old Yu. Which for Vincent he was like his own father. It was the man who raised Vincent after his parents died on the battlefield.
The old man noticed the mark on Vincent's left hand and immediately gave his assessment, "I've heard from Watson. Did you feel anything when the imprint moved? Did you see anything?"
