Chereads / How To Break The Werewolf's Heart / Chapter 5 - The Vampire Queen is Not Here

Chapter 5 - The Vampire Queen is Not Here

The stench of rotting blood carried by the Vampires made Vincent wake up after half a day of unconsciousness. Even though his body was still recovering after being hit by an unexpected blow this afternoon. Several of his ribs were broken and his spleen nearly ruptured. His inner strength drained a lot of recovery.

But he had to keep advancing to face the Vampires. He couldn't let them throw a tantrum at Grégory Castle. The name followed by whose pack acquired the castle. This place is the powerhouse of the werewolves who live in the Seth Valley. If he let this place fall then that would mean he made the entire werewolf fall with him.

"The Queen, your highness Leah isn't here." Vincent's firm words.

"Then let us inspect this entire castle." This vampire didn't falter under the pressure that Vincent was carrying. He was no ordinary vampire after all.

"You have no right to enter this Grégory Castle, Harris. Even your coming to Seth Valley is totally inappropriate. This is rebellion. You can't tread on our lands arbitrarily."

"This is an emergency, the Vampire King sent me here. We must find Your Highness Leah, The Queen."

"I told you… SHE IS NOT HERE!"

"We wouldn't know if we didn't check. You could have hidden it somewhere. Aren't you good at kidnapping and hiding women?"

Harris was not wrong, Vincent had indeed made the accusations he mentioned. Vincent once hid Renésmee, a vampire woman or to be exact half-vampire.

That was in the past and what actually happened was that Vincent and Renésmee fell in love with each other, they were Eden's fated couple. Vincent would not be able to live without Renésmee and vice versa.

"We won't be back until we find your highness."

Vincent understood the Queen Vampire disappearance was a major crisis for the Vampire faction. The King might be on a rampage right now or worse he could be massacring a land in search of her lover.

It's not that Vincent isn't facing a crisis either.

"I see. If you insist on looking for your highness here then I should let it be." Vincent suddenly changed his mind. He stepped aside, allowing Harris and his army of vampires to enter and inspect Grégory Castle.

"NO! You can't just let them in!" Noah disagrees with Vincent's sudden change in decision.

What if they found Alice in the dungeon?

The blonde woman looked more like a vampire than a werewolf. These vampires would suspect her. They would probably take Alice away if they didn't manage to find the Vampire Queen. Noah couldn't let them take Alice.

Vincent understood the meaning of Noah's call. He knew that the troublesome blonde was still inside Grégory Castle. When he changed his clothes earlier, he could still smell it though faintly.

These vampires would also smell Alice's scent if they moved further into the castle. But he couldn't help. It would only show that they were really hiding something.

Harris walked to lead the army of vampires. He passed Noah who was growling in his place. Noah is ready to turn into a wolf at any moment to pounce and tear these rotten vampires to pieces.

Harris would take a step further through the main door of Grégory Castle, past Vincent who was standing in the doorway.

"Did your highness disappear during the storm of darkness?"

"You still need to ask? Didn't you take advantage of that strange storm of darkness to sneak into the Abel Valley and take your highness?"

"I didn't have any business with your highness. I didn't go sneaking into Abel Valley to get anything else. One more thing you need to know, actually… Renésmee also disappeared after that storm."

Harris turned around and was shocked. "What did you say! How did you lose Nessy?!" He tugged at Vincent's collar and threw him against the doorframe.

Ever since Harris came to Seth Valley, he had not seen anything strange let alone a crisis like what happened in Abel Valley when people found out that Vampire Queen had disappeared.

This place was too peaceful when such a serious matter happened.

"How can you be this calm when Renésmee is missing?" Harris strangled Vincent with all his might until the veins in his hands were sticking out.

"Because I'm not a stupid vampire who carelessly breaks through the lands of people like you." Vincent tightened his neck muscles against Harris' choking.

"You guys are no smarter than us. Tell me how Renésmee disappeared!"

His anger was almost as intense as Vincent had shown this afternoon. It seemed she was one of the Vampires who thought of Renésmee as an important woman.

Noah stepped forward and pushed Harris away from Vincent. He knew that Vincent wasn't strong enough to give Harris the resistance he deserved.

"I don't know what happened. After that storm, I couldn't find her anywhere."

Vincent's description was the same as what happened back in Abel Valley. The two women disappeared after the strange storm of darkness that occurred in the Land of Eden. But why did only the two of them disappear?

Is there any other faction or race that targets vampire women?

Considering that Renésmee is also still a vampire.

Could it be the Draconians again?

The Draconians are the worst descendants of Eden. They were more bloodthirsty than the Vampire faction. They can just kill and eat humans. They once ruled the Northern Kingdom and spread darkness throughout the Land of Eden.

That's right… that kind of darkness can only be done by Draconians.

The disappearance of Vampire Queen or Renésmee may not be the work of the werewolves but the work of the Draconians. Anyone would concur with the idea. But for Harris this occurrence was absolutely the best chance to bring the army and conquer the werewolves clan. He doesn't want to lose this opportunity.
