But the Draconians should have disappeared after the Exodus War. The Queen of the South had defeated Lord Draco the Prince of Darkness. Even if there were any left of them, they should be under the care of the Moon Goddess and the Twilight Army.
Such a strange Dark Storm must have a reason.
Vincent came back and spoke again, "I'm going to send someone to the Queen of the South for help. Maybe she knows what's going on in this holy land."
"Why don't you go to the Queen of the South yourself?" Harris always seemed to have words against Vincent or the wolves.
"Oh? And leave Seth Valley unguarded while your King is on a rampage?" Not that Vincent can be silenced just like that. Vincent wasn't stupid, there was still a lot he needed to take care of in this Seth Valley. Moreover, he recently added another soul on account.
Who knew that the Vampire King would also come here and use this opportunity to seize the Seth Valley? The struggle for power between Werewolves and Vampires has been going on since who knows and forever will.
…
The werewolves managed to repel Harris and his Vampire army. They didn't even need to be hospitable to offer accommodation for the vampires. Harris immediately led his troops to move south to meet the queen.
Noah is forced to escort them to the border, ensuring that the vampires get out of Seth Valley. Meanwhile Vincent descends into the dungeon following a trail of strange pheromones that have been bugging his nose since noon.
His footsteps echoed down the underground passage so Alice could hear them from afar.
Someone is moving where she is. Could it be the Vampire Noah mentioned?
Even though Alice didn't make the slightest sound. It could be because of her body odor which Noah said was like the smell of snow. Alice had thought to hold her breath, who knew it would work to erase her tracks.
The sound of the footsteps grew louder, the owner of the steps was getting closer. Then the voices or footsteps suddenly disappeared. That's not a sign she's safe!
The silence was broken by the sound of the metal door opening. Alice immediately closed her eyes. Still not daring to breathe. She thought of pretending to be a dead rat.
Alice had no idea who had just entered. Human, Wolf or Vampire, huh?
Gah! Why did she choose such a stupid idea?
"Do you want to die?" The voice was cold and deep, a voice she seemed familiar with.
Alice wasn't sure who the voice belonged to? Either that person is threatening her or giving her a choice. That certainly doesn't sound friendly. Alice still continued her role as the dead rat even though the carbon dioxide seemed to be burning her lungs. She hoped that person would leave soon.
"You idiot! If you want to die like this, what's the point of Jacob hitting me this afternoon?"
[ Who got hit and who was Jacob? ]
In this strange confusion Alice felt she could not hold her breath any longer or her lungs would explode.
"Breathe!" The order sounded absolute.
Alice quickly exhaled and sucked in as much oxygen as possible. She had also opened her eyes, there was a black silhouette standing beside the stone bed where she was lying.
A strange man that she didn't know. His face was blurry due to the lack of sufficient light, but Alice could still see his sparkling eyes. Who is he?
"Who the hell are you? Where did you come from?" point up Vincent.
Alice should have asked the same thing.
How did he get into this room? Did this man come to help her or not?
Vincent wasn't the man with patience. "Did you get hurt and become mute?" he demanded Alice's answer as soon as possible. That was if Alice could still talk.
"Are you one of the werewolves… or, are you a Vampire?"
"Do you know a vampire?"
Vincent didn't expect Alice to mention Vampires. Not in the current condition and situation.
"Which do you want to meet first? Werewolf or Vampire?"
"Can you be both at once?"
"Have you ever seen anything like it?" Hearing how Alice asked, Vincent became even more worried and alert. If Alice came to know any werewolves who were half vampires as well, then she would have to kill Alice right now.
Half werewolf and half vampire are disasters and those who know them are the bearers of disaster.
"Uh… Not really, unless you show it to me now." To be honest Alice couldn't even tell the difference between a werewolf and a vampire. She would only know someone was a werewolf after they turned into a wolf, whereas vampires, did they also turn into other animals? Like a cat or a tiger?
"Stupid girl!"
How could Vincent be a vampire? He was on the verge of worrying unnecessarily.
"Hey, I'm not stupid, I just wanted to see if you were a werewolf or a vampire. Noah told me vampires come to the castle and they don't sound like nice people. If you were a werewolf you should let me go now."
Vincent was not happy when he heard Alice babble like that. "I'm not here to let you go." His voice was stressful and colder than before, causing Alice to shiver and cover her mouth.
Then there's a possibility that he's a Vampire, thought Alice.
She didn't know what to do to confront a vampire. Was this man going to pounce on her as well as the wolves did this afternoon? But so far their conversation is going pretty well. Even though this man was fierce, he didn't immediately attack Alice or turn into something to scare Alice.
So is the vampire actually a good person?
"I'm not a vampire." Vincent answered Alice as if he read Alice's mind.
Vincent had no intention of continuing their conversation any further. They were in the middle of the night and he still needed to rest his body. His recovery was still not perfect, he couldn't even escape Harris' grip just now.
All because of this stupid-blonde-woman!
Vincent cultivated and saved his emotions for the night. Just for tonight. Once his powers returned there would be no mercy for Alice.
"Then can you let me go?"
"No. I can't let you go even if I wanted to… I don't have the key."
Oh, right! The key must be held by Noah. After learning that she was from the same faction as Noah, Alice was no longer afraid of Vincent. "Then, can you call Noah for me? He said he would let me go."
The corner of Vincent's seedling twitched, his canines peeking out. Noah! The boy just casually promised something.
"He went to the border to escort the vampires out of our land. He won't be back until tomorrow morning."
"What?"
It's too bad. Alice still had to wait until tomorrow morning.
"Is there no other way to untie this chain?"
"Of course, there is another way… I could break the chain, but I can't promise I won't break your hand either. Want to try it?"
