Arzaan walked through the large double doors that were held open by the guards standing beside them. He had two guards that walked by his side to accompany him.
Inside was a great hall with many seats around it. It was designed in the shape and style of a courtroom with the seat for the king being set aside from all others and placed in front and facing the room. He walked over and sat majestically with grace and poise. The guards that walked behind him stood on either side of him with their hands set behind their backs and wings folded and let down.
His lilac eyes scanned the room that was nearly half full. Almost all the species of the creatures in the realms of Arcadia were represnted and standing at the moment to receive and welcome the king.
Inside the great hall were creatures of different races with at least two representing them as they gathered to summon the king. Among them were the centaurs who were the military patrolmen of Arcadia. Evergreen the queen of the dryads and her second in command Niles, the light faeries, The elves, Idril Elanel, the head of the elves whom Hazel met at the Coliseum was also present along with his second in command, Karris. The Cyclops, the dwarfs, the goblin, and more creatures.
Siting at the forefront were the members of the various dragon clans, ranging from the sky and air dragons, water dragons, earth dragons, and fire dragons. There was a vacant spot amid the dragons' clans that was meant for the noble dragon clan which now had only one living member, King Arzaan Draxan, who sat on the king's throne.
Arzaan scanned the hall, his lilac eyes taking all the faces that were present including those that tried to conceal their presence from everyone.
Seeing that he was seated everyone greeted "Your Majesty," in unison and he gave a curt nod to them. Silence followed the thunderous voices in the hall after the greetings.
The tender look he had on him while he was Hazel was nonexistent as he exchanged gazes with the creature that had gathered and summoned him. He glanced at a corner in the hall and a woman stepped forward.
She bowed to him and apologized, "I am sorry for being late, my king." She was none other than Sage, the royal adviser to the king. She had long white hair and beautiful forest-green eyes that could only remind you of the beauty of the wild. "The king would like to know the reason for which you all have summoned him," Sage spoke turning to face the people seating before them.
Someone stood up from the sky dragon clan to address the purpose of the gathering while everyone else remained silent.
"Your Majesty," He began with a bow. "We have received the news and some of us have witnessed with our very own eyes and heard you declare the creature that crossed to our world as your mate." He paused and looked at the king who sat there gloriously without speaking or showing any signs of displeasure. "We want to know how true this is if you don't mind, Your Grace."
"Your Majesty....." Sage was about to speak when Arzaan raised his hand to stop her. She wanted to confirm what she had just heard because this was new to her. She was away for a few days carrying out the king's orders and had just arrived when she was told about the king's summon by the council.
"It is as you have all heard." He said only these simple words and murmurs filled the hall as many spoke at the same time.
"How can our Queen be someone who is not of us? A strange creature who knows nothing about us." Another creature asked. They felt a burst of invisible energy fill the room right after the comment and they knew that the king was displeased to hear that. He was the only one that could let out such strong pressure on many without breaking a sweat.
"It is as the gods deem fit." Idril the elf said walking forward to stand beside Sage. "We all saw her in the Coliseum, some of us might already know what creature our future queen is." He said looking at the crowd. He turned and gave a bow to the king, their eyes locked for a moment, engaged in a short and silent conversation, receiving a nod of approval, he turned to face the crowd again. "Her kind are not entirely strangers to us." His eyes searched the room for some people in the crowd gathered and they met with the Dryad, Evergreen, and some old members of the dragon clans. "Am I wrong?" he asked them.
"What is he talking about, Evergreen?" The loud voice of a Cyclops was heard and all eyes turned to look at Evergreen. He might have one eye, but it was sharp enough to catch whom the eyes of Idril fell upon before his question.
"It is true, we are not total strangers to each other," Evergreen admitted. She glared at Idril for indirectly calling her out and giving someone else the right chance to do it openly. "But that was a long time ago."
"What creatures are you talking Idril and Evergreen?" Drabor the oldest of the earth dragon clan asked because it was him whom Idril's eye fell on.
Sage stood at the side and was completely lost in what was happening. The thing that they were talking about was easy to understand but somehow she found it hard to do so. She looked between the people who had spoken and then at the man who sat on the throne trying to read what was in his mind.
"She is a human," Idril said and a loud gasp was heard from the many people gathered in there. "Most of us are familiar with the history of the humans."
"Impossible," Drabor said, his eyes flaring and glared at Idril as if he was the one who opened the portal to bring the girl in. "They are inferior to us, how could they turn to rule us?"
Murmurs followed his statement and no one could hear what the other was saying anymore as they were all engaged in their talks.
"Silence!" Arzan's voice boomed silencing all murmurs and whispers sending the room to another pin-drop silence. He glared at them all and stood to his feet. They all stood up with their heads bowed not daring to remain seated while the king stood.
