King Arazan stared at the crowd with blazing eyes. His lilac eyes had turned gold and blazing like two small suns compressed into the sockets. The hall was silent as no one dared to speak. The color of the king's eyes alone was enough to give a red flag to anyone who dared you speak again.
"Inferior race or not, she is my mate and therefore your queen," Arzaan said. His voice was dangerously low but they could all hear him. He glared at Drabor who had his eyes on the floor. "Do you have any problem with that?" He asked, directing his question to all but his eyes strained on the older member of the dragon clan.
No one spoke. They all remain standing looking at the king who had just taken offense for the first time in a long time. He looked calm and gentle with a beautiful smile but only they knew what havoc the creature whom they addressed as King was capable of causing. "Sage," He called with his eyes still on the people in front of him.
"Your Majesty," She came to standing in front of him with her head low.
"If this all that you have summoned me to discuss, then I am leaving the rest to you." He said and started walking for the door.
He left and Idril followed him leaving his second behind to listen to all that would be discussed and report to him. He caught up to the king and they began to walk at the same pace. "Your Majesty," He said looking at the king's size profile. "There is something I think you must know."
I stopped for a second to look at him before starting to walk again. "Let me hear it." He said. His bodyguards towed behind them, staying close yet maintaining some distance from them.
"Duran was in there, My King," Idril said. His expression became serious.
"Why is that a problem?" Arzaan asked. In his this realm were different creatures. Good and bad alike living together. It didn't matter whether they were bad or good, as long as they behaved themselves, then he was fine with it.
"There is something I noticed about the Queen and he would too if he gets close enough to her," Idril said finally getting the King to stop and look at him. Not waiting for him to ask, he continues to speak. "Her heartbeat is different from what I remember of the humans."
The king frowned. Only very few people knew of the ability of Idril to be able to tell the difference between the heartbeat of different creatures. To him, each creature has a different heartbeat from the other and he could identify which was which even without having to see the creature. "What does it sound like?" He asked.
"It's similar to yours, Your Majesty." He replied. He had tried to understand what it was back at the Coliseum he paid close attention to heartbeat more than anything else there and he came up with a conclusion. "Like that of a sleeping dragon."
"Is he still inside?" The king asked and Idril didn't need to be told whom he asked about.
"No, My king." He replied.
Arzaan started to walk again with quicker steps that almost seemed as if he had become a blurry image. And Idril tried to keep up with him.
Inside the castle, in the room where Hazel was, She sat at the edge of a bed looking at herself in the mirror wondering what she was going to do now. She did not know anymore what to do. She has asked to be sent back and her request, though on the spur of the moment had been agreed to be granted to her when it was time.
She should be happy but she was not happy about it. She didn't even know what she wanted anymore and it's not even been a day since she got here. She couldn't go back to the life that she had there in her world but at the same, she didn't want to be forced to be with someone whom she did not know at all.
She was in a world filled with magic and creatures that she could only dream about, or read about in fairy tales but she was not happy or sad about it. She sighed because she was not even able to make up her mind about what to even feel either.
Her train of thought was brought to a stop when she felt someone's presence in the room. She would t be surprised if truly there was someone else in the room because in a world like this, teleportation was more than possible but she did not know if the creature that appeared before he was good or bad. Or what its intentions towards her might be.
Looking away from the mirror, she ran her eyes around the room and came to a stop at the far corner of the room where she spotted a figure standing there. "Who is there?" she asked standing to her feet. It was not like she would know who it was if the person answered her but she asked anyway.
The figure moved closer away from the darkened part of the room coming closer to her. What she saw made her blink to get her vision right because she thought she was seeing the same person with a different color. Elves were not supposed to be able to change the color of their skin. At least not without magic. "Who are you? What are doing here?" She asked. If he was the same elf that she had seen earlier then, why was he in her room?
"You don't seem surprised to see me," He stated and walked even closer to her. He looked into her eyes, then the rest of her, and his eyes narrowed. "Permit me to touch you," he said stretching his hand towards her even though she had not agreed to it.
Instinctively, Hazel took a step back away from his touch. Even their character was different. The one she met before maintained some distance between them and didn't try to do anything other than smile at her.
"Who are you?" she asked again. He looked at the bed and made her fall to sit on it. She hurriedly stood up not wanting to be trapped by whatever this creature was.
"I am Duran." He said, giving her his name because that was all that she asked for. He even sounded a bit different.
"Have we met before?" Hazel asked.
He pauses as if realizing something, "I see you have met my counterpart." he said with a thoughtful look in his eyes.
