Chapter 12 - What creature is his majesty?

The coach dropped into silence once again after the words of Idril. It was as if he was thinking, trying to decide whether he should proceed and ask her what he wanted or not to do. Hazel made no attempts to prob. He wouldn't tell her if he didn't want to even if she asked so there was no point in asking him what it was though his silence made her curious and wanted to know what it was.

"My Queen," Idril spoke, calling her attention. "In your world, the human world, does magic exist, or does any of our kind still exist there?" He asked when he was sure he had her attention. He wanted to know because there was something powerful but dormant within her. He could sense it.

"No, there isn't any, Lord Idril, magic and creatures like you and everyone here is only based on myths and fantasy stories for children." She replied. His question was simple and there was no need to go racking her brain thinking of how best to present it.

Idril nodded to her words. It explains why there was so much power in her but it was still untapped and she was still unaware of it. "I see," He said, letting her know that he had heard her. "What are your thoughts on Arcadia, My Queen?"

Hazel fell silent after his question. What did she think of Arcadia? She didn't hate the place but rather she felt she would love the realm of Arcadia. But would the people accept her and treat her as they would treat every other person? "I think it's beautiful, but I don't know enough to judge."

He smiled at her response. Her words were careful and she was telling the truth. Hazel looked below through the small opening of the curtains that covered the window of the coach. Below, she could see a big and long river that flowed ever so beautifully.

It glistened as the water flowed and rippled. It looked as if there were stars hidden deep within it and trying to break free and burst out but it never did and rather shimmer within it beautifully.

"It's beautiful." She said absentmindedly and subconsciously the curtains to make them wider so she could do more than what she could. Her eyes looked behind at the majestic castle that stood imposingly in the sky basking in its own glory. She was still awed by it even after spending so many days in it.

"We are almost there, My Queen," Idril informed her. She snapped her head to look at him and then smiled awkwardly when she was met with a smile. This elf was handsome. So good-looking that he was almost unreal, having the perfect features and a smile that could always put the sun to shame. Maybe that was why elves were referred to as divine creatures.

The same could be said about Arzaan. She was often distracted by his mere presence alone. And each time she gazed into his lilac eyes, she was often lost and in need of someone to pull her out. His looks always made her question her beauty. If a man could be so beautiful, even more than a woman, more than her, how does she look standing next to him? She would often ask herself.

Their looks alone were diatractracting.

"We are here, My Queen," he announced even before they could be informed. He stepped down and then helped her out by holding her hand. Something she was yet to get used to.

"Thank you." She said, stepping forward to look at where he had brought them. The place was beautiful but it had a sense of familiarity in it. "Where is this?" She asked but stepped forward again and away from him. This place, though it looked old and sort of medieval, it reminded her of her world, how one would imagine the medieval era in a human world.

Idril walked to her side and gestured that she should follow him and they began moving at the same pace side by side. "Any sense of familiarity, My Queen?" He asked in a polite tone.

"Indeed," She said with a nod of her head "Humans, it looks like the human world of old." She said and he nodded without a word. She stopped when she sighted a small hut at a distance. If this place was indeed inhabited by humans in the past, then it was well preserved because everything still stood on its own and very little breakage could be seen. Which only testified to its age. "Humans once lived here?"

"Our realms are neighbors to each other, My queen," He said and they began moving in the direction of the hut she was looking at. "They lived amongst us and we amongst them," They reached the door of the little hut and stopped again and a guard following behind them stepped forward to open it for them.

He entered first to make sure everything was in order and no surprises before he called unto her, asking her to enter if she wishes. Hazel entered and she was not disappointed. It seems her imagination of the medieval world had always been accurate. "This is a wonderful surprise, Lord Idril, I am appreciative of it." She said, turning to look at him with a smile.

He stared into her clear brown eyes and then smiled back making her wonder if she ever frowns. Now thinking of it, she had never seen him or Arzaan with a frown before or having a serious look on their faces. They always had a smile around her that she would wonder what they would look like when they were angry. Up until now, she was still aware of what creature her mate is. Had Idril not been an elf, she was sure she wouldn't know yet.

"If I may ask, Lord Idril," She said and began walking around the hut, touching whatever she could as she moved. "May I know what creature His Majesty is?" She asked and stopped moving, she turned to look at him standing with his hands behind his back but he had no smile on him.
