Despite the shocking turn out of events, Ezekiel did not look affected. He simply sat on the couple's chair and busied himself with his phone, leaving Juicy shocked and Evie confused.
Juicy led Evie away from Ezekiel, to somewhere more private, she needed explanations from Evie.
"How?… Why are you getting married to Ezekiel? How did you even meet him?" Juicy was beyond shocked.
Evie did not reply, she did not know what to tell Juicy, how was she going to explain everything to her? How would she start narrating her predicament to Juicy?
"Do you love him?" Came Juicy's question.
"No!" Evie replied firmly, causing Juicy to take a good look at her.
She looked beautiful and used a fake smile to cover up, deep in her eyes were sadness, pain, and hurt, all those emotions were in those eyes of hers.
"I do not even like him," Evie let a lone tear escape her eye and then quickly wiped it off with the back of her palm.
"Then why are you getting married to him?" Juicy asked but before Evie could say a thing, Sonia approached them and said she would like to introduce Evie to some group of people.
With that, Sonia left with Evie while Juicy sat on the invitees' chair waiting for Evie, she had a whole lot to explain to her.
Evie had changed into a more simple gown to ease her movements, everyone wanted to meet her, and Sonia and Alice kept introducing her to different groups of people.
Evie was truly exhausted for the day, luckily for her the party had come to an end and the invitees had started going home.
"I have to say that this is a very big ceremony," Mr Owens stated as the Tan family escorted them to the car park.
"Yes, I am so grateful everything worked out in everyone's favour!" Richard added with a broad smile on his face.
Evie only listened to them and occasionally looked at Ezekiel who did not spare her a glance, even for a second, he had not uttered a word to her since the beginning of the ceremony.
They arrived at the car park where the drivers were waiting for the Owens family, the Tan family bid them goodbye and with this, they drove off.
Evie breathed in relief, she was glad that they had gone at least she would get some peace. She walked away into the main building but was shocked to see Juicy still waiting for her.
"Juicy?! You are still here?" Evie was shocked to the core.
"Yes I am and I am not leaving this place without explanations," Juicy stated causing Evie to sigh and then led her into her room.
Evie made sure no one saw Juicy, she was grateful that her parents were outside while she snuck in with Juicy.
Juicy sat on the bed while Evie stood at the window, gazing at the lonely streets, the streetlights shined brightly.
"Evie? Can we get started?" Juicy was impatient. Evie turned her gaze to Juicy and then sat on the sofa nearby.
Juicy stared at Evie who sat speechlessly, maybe she did not know where to start narrating.
Juicy got up and took a bottle of water from the mini-fridge in her room.
"It is an arranged marriage!" Evie's statement made Juicy choke on her water.
"Take it easy," Evie rushed and patted her back to enable her to stop coughing. After the cough subsided Juicy cupped Evie's face in her palm.
"Tell me it is not true!" Juicy demanded, she could not believe that she was going to marry that man.
Evie looked away, not knowing what to say. "It is true Juicy, my parents forced me into this!" Evie stated.
"What are you? A kid whose parents still force them to do something?" Juicy roared, she let her anger reign.
"You would never understand Juicy!" Evie said, tears rushing down her eyes already.
"Are you by chance pregnant for him?" Juicy asked.
"Hell no! It's all my parents' doings, they are hellbent on making me marry Ezekiel," Evie responded.
"And you agreed?"
"I have no option Juicy, I have no say here!" Evie told her.
"This is just so absurd, it is ridiculous, it's unheard of!" Juicy spouted.
"So wait you do not even like him like friends right?" She asked and Evie nodded in agreement.
"Christ Jesus! This is so unbelievable! I can't wrap my head around what you said right now, it's like a cock and bull story to me!" said Juicy.
"Come here," Juicy said and made Evie rest her head on her chest.
"Everything would be alright!" Juicy encouraged her, her hands raking through Evie's red hair. Though Evie knew that it was a lie, she still chose to believe.
"Listen, Evie, you are no longer a kid, your parents shouldn't be bossing you around, you are boss of yourself, they are only there to guide, advise and support you and not to torment you, from today henceforth, whenever you parents ask you to do something you don't like, do not hesitate to tell them that you won't do it. It is not disrespect, it is just fending for yourself. It is your life and you have to live it, no one is going to live it for you," Juicy stated and all Evie did was nod her head in agreement.
Meanwhile,
"Stop!" Ezekiel ordered the driver to park the car, the driver looked at him through the rear mirror and obeyed him, he knew how much his master hated repeating himself so he was no fool to disobey his order.
"Leave!" came Ezekiel's next command after the driver pulled up, though the driver was reluctant to leave his master all by himself, he still obeyed and got off the car. He only prayed for his master's safety.
Ezekiel also alighted and entered the driver's seat and zoomed off with great speed.
Inside a mansion sat two men; Paul and Xander, they were both drinking as the place was eerily calm until Ezekiel came in.
"Look who we got here!" Paul was the one who spoke.
Ezekiel did not utter a word, he only collected a tumbler and poured a drink for himself.
"How was the party?" Paul asked after a long moment of silence.
"How did you want it to be?" Ezekiel answered his question with a question.
"Why did you agree to marry her?" Xander asked.
"Because of the kingdom, my inheritance and to prevent my wicked stepmother from succeeding in her evil skims." Ezekiel replied
"Ezekiel, of all people, finally agreed to marry a woman!" Paul stated in disbelief.
"Do you find anything interesting about her?" Paul asked.
"No! She can't move me. As I always say, love is a waste of time and energy. It is a word for the weak," Ezekiel replied sipping his drink
"But she has moved you already by making you agree to marry her," Paul had a smirk on his face.
Ezekiel dropped his drink on the table before facing these men, he said,
"I don't do love, she is only there to fill the vacuum and when I am done with her, I would dump her," Ezekiel said proudly.
