The wedding reception finally came to an end. The couple received lots of gifts, and blessings from their family.
"I would miss you," Sonia whispered into her daughter's ear as she hugged her.
"Take good care of yourself," Richard added.
"Come here," Alice outstretched her hand for a hug.
"Take good care of my son; your husband," Alice whispered into her ears in between their hug, Evie only nodded her head.
Evie hugged her best friend; Juicy, then her bridesmaids, her manager and Mia.
She waved at them and turned to enter the already opened door of the Jeep when she remembered someone.
Her eyes searched for a particular person. Eric was standing not too far away from the family.
When Evie's gaze landed on him, he smiled at her before she walked up to him and engulfed him in a bone-crushing hug.
"I am going to miss you," Evie whispered, trying her best not to cry.
"Be a good wife," he whispered back, stroking her red hair with his fingers.
After a few minutes, they broke away and Evie bid everyone goodbye.
Evie took one last look at them before she entered the Jeep. She heaved deeply and turned her head to view Ezekiel but surprisingly, she saw two men sitting beside her.
She recognized the first man as Paul, thanks to her first encounter meeting him but she could not remember meeting the second man, she tried remembering whether she was introduced to him but her brain could not remember him not his name.
Do not blame her, she met about five hundred people today.
She looked at the front seat and found Ezekiel, leaning his head on the headrest.
"Where are we going?" Evie managed to ask but no one answered
"Ezekiel? Please where are we heading to?" Evie directed her question to Ezekiel but as usual, he did not reply.
Paul glanced at her before putting his AirPods in his ear, watching God know what.
The second man just leaned his head on the headrest with his eyes closed and Ezekiel did the same.
Seeing that no one was going to reply, Evie decided to remain calm, but fear crept in when the driver followed a different route which does not lead to Ezekiel's home.
Evie tried to remain positive but her heart and mind were in chaos.
She breathed in deeply assuring herself that Ezekiel would not do anything stupid to her, or would he?
'Calm down Evie, just wait till they get to the destination,' she told herself but it seemed like fear and gripped her entire body.
Evie then remembered what usually calms her down.
Music!
She gently brought out her iPhone from her purse and connected it to her earpiece, she put them in her ears and listened to her songs.
Evie did not know when she relaxed her head on the head rest and slowly sang along with her music, following the rhythm and savouring the moment.
Paul was the first person to notice that the girl was singing, he removed his AirPods to listen to the girl's calm and sweet voice, with this voice of hers, she would make in the music industry.
Xander's eyes flew open and he tilted his head towards the direction of the girl singing, he stared at her for some moments before leaning back on the headrest and listening to her with his eyes closed.
Ezekiel opened his eyes and his gaze landed on Evie, her voice was just so melodic and her rhythm was top notch, he stared at her for some time before returning to his previous position.
Finally, they got to their destination and they alighted. Evie's eyes scanned the entire mansion in her view, it was nothing like Ezekiel's home, though it was still beautiful.
"Whose place is this?" Evie asked, when they entered the living room, as usual, no one replied.
Ezekiel took off his grey suit, his white shirt came into view as well as his toned abs.
He collapsed on the couch and shoved his head backwards. He looked goddamned handsome right now.
Ezekiel stood up and advanced into the room but Evie blocked his path.
"Ezekiel! Why are we here and not home? Whose place is this?" Evie asked, staring directly into Ezekiel's eyes.
Ezekiel tried to shove past her but Evie was too stubborn and was adamant about getting her answer.
"Evelynn, I am exhausted, so step aside, let me get some rest," Ezekiel replied.
"Exhausted you say? I should be the one exhausted because I was the one meeting different people while you just sat leisurely like you were some king!" Evie yelled, causing Paul's eyes to widen, no one dares to yell at Ezekiel, not even his parents!
Ezekiel closed his eyes and it looked like was trying to reign in his anger and not do anything stupid, he opened his eyes again and Evie could swear that the colour of his eyes changed.
He stared at her, trying to impact fear into Evie but she looked so brave at the moment, she was not ready to leave until he explains why they are there?
Ezekiel shoved her aside with only one hand, making her lose balance and she fell to the ground.
"Ezekiel!" She roared as she got up instantly but Ezekiel had long gone.
She was like a volcano that wanted to erupt. Her breathing was heavy as she tried to reign in her anger.
Xander walked past her, to his room, he was not ready for a couple of drama, but he must say, the girl is really brave, she was too brave for his liking, does she even know that she could die in a snap of Ezekiel's fingers?
No wonder Ezekiel finds the girl interesting, he (Ezekiel) needed someone who could stand up to him and challenge him just like Evie, he did not need a Barbie Princess.
"Please calm down," Paul pleaded.
Evie closed her eyes before opening them again.
"I would show you to your room," Paul said and went inside as well as Evie who followed him.
Evie gazed at her room, it was not as big as that of hers in her father's home but it was still spacious enough, she really did not like the setting of the room but what could she do anyway?
"Thank you," she muttered to Paul who only smiled and walked away.
Evie sat on the bed, her eyes still scanning the room, nothing seemed interesting in the room. She sighed deeply before going to the bathroom.
She let the shower wet her from her hair to her toes, the cold sensation the water sent to her body was so enjoyable.
She then filled the bathtub with warm water and slid into it, her hands were playing with the foams of the soap while she sang her song.
After a long moment in the bathroom, she came out and it was then it hit her that she had no nightwear, and she was not going to put on that gown Alice got for her.
She was surprised to see a red nightgown on the bed with her undergarments, she blushed hard as she viewed the lingerie, she did not know who put it there, but she was grateful.
She heaved deeply before darkness consumed her.
