Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

It was a brand new day and Evie was up, she freshened up and ate breakfast alone, according to Alexa, she said that her husband had gone out.

The previous day ended without her seeing her husband, not even for a second, and now it was already afternoon without a clue about her husband.

Bored, Evie sat on the sofa in the sitting room. She had been watching a television show since morning and now she got tired of it.

"Alexa, please I want to go out, which of the cars is available for my use?" Evie asked, she had gotten ready to visit her friends and spend time with them.

"With all due respect ma'am, I am sorry to tell you that you are prohibited from leaving the house, instruction from my master," Alexa stated with a courtesy.

"Excuse me? I said I want to leave the house!" Evie repeated herself.

"I can not let you leave the house, else my master would sanction me greatly," Alexa said.

"You must be kidding me right?" Evie asked with an evil smile on her face.

"No I am not kidding you, ma'am, it is the truth," Alexa replied, causing Evie to click her tongue, it had gotten to the extent of prohibiting her movement, this was the violence of human rights!

She brought out her phone from her purse to call Ezekiel but she remembered she did not have his number.

What a great wife she is!~ note the heavy sarcasm.

"Alexa, do you have your master's number?" Evie asked shamelessly, making Alexa's eyes widen, they did not have each other's number! For crying out loud, what kind of couple are they?!

"Why are you staring at me like that, do you have his number or not?!" Evie yelled.

"I do" Alexa was quick to reply as she hurriedly gave Evie, Ezekiel's number.

Ezekiel was in a bar, having a good time with his pal, Paul, they had been discussing, or let's say Paul was the one doing the whole talking while Ezekiel was the one doing all the whole listening.

Ezekiel's phone vibrated in his pocket, indicating he had a call from someone, he brought out the phone and stared at the unknown number calling him. Without hesitation he picked it up.

Immediately he heard the person's ranting, he kept the phone away from his ear, at arm's length to avoid his eardrum from malfunctioning.

"Who the hell do you think you are for locking me up in my house?! I have the right to leave the house anytime I want and there is nothing you can do about it! Tell your staff to allow me to leave the house this instant Ezekiel! When did I become a prisoner Ezekiel?" Evie roared on the phone.

After she finished speaking, she did not hear anything from Ezekiel, he just abruptly ended the call adding to Evie's frustration and anger.

Evie almost smashed her phone on the ground after Ezekiel hanged up on her, if he was nearby, she would have slapped some sense into him.

"Ezekiel!" Evie muttered before she left for her room.

Alexa stood in the sitting room perplexed about what happened.

She shook her head as she watched Evie storm back to her room, she wondered if Ezekiel and Evie would ever get along, would they even have kids?

Come to think of it, how would they cooperate in bed, or would they keep exchanging words and fighting even in bed?!

Alexa wanted to laugh very loudly as she thought of it, how would these two obstinate souls blend? Why did Ezekiel even agree to marry a woman like Evie? Can he tolerate her? Alexa knew that there would be more drama coming from the couple, she just hoped that none of them would kill each other.

Evie angrily lay on the bed, frustration set in, she tried calling Ezekiel again but she knew he would not pick the call and true to her words he did not pick the call.

Her phone rang and when she looked at the caller's ID, it was Juicy, she was happy she called, she wanted to call in the morning but got a text message from Juicy that she was off to work.

"Hello Evie," Juicy said the moment Evie picked up the call.

"Hi Juicy, how are you doing?" Evie asked.

"You would never believe what happened,"

"What happened?" Evie asked.

"I met Ezekiel's Owens cousin like I hung out with his cousin today!" Juicy exclaimed.

"Ezekiel's cousin? What is his name?"

"Xander… Xander Walter," Juicy replied.

"I know Xander, I mean I met him briefly," Evie said.

"Do you know that my husband restricted my movement, in our house," Evie roared over the phone causing Juicy to keep her phone at arm's length.

"Calm down babe, remember I am not Ezekiel" Juicy reminded her so that she would not transfer her aggression to her.

"Just try talking to him more calmly," Juicy suggested.

"I have tried!" Evie yelled.

"I know you Evie and I know you like to do what to want without restrictions, and I also know that she would never go easy on anyone who tries to stop you from doing what you want," stated Juicy.

"Fine! Ezekiel is pissing me off, I do not even get to see him, talk more of talking with him," Evie sighed loudly.

"Just try talking to him and if it does not work out, then we can decide what to do," Juicy added while Evie only said yes.

The two of them discussed life before ending the call.

Evie was chatting with her friends on a WhatsApp group chat when Ezekiel walked in, his scent filled the entire place causing Evie to look up at him.

"Ezekiel," Evie called out as she walked up to him but he ignored her walking towards the staircase.

Evie blocked his path, her arms folded at her chest.

"Please Ezekiel, can we talk? I am tired of you ignoring me like I am a total stranger, for crying out loud I am your wife!" Evie said.

Ezekiel stiffened hearing her plead, he looked at her closely, why the sudden change? Though he remained calm.

"What do you want to talk about?" His deep voice filled Evie's ears.

"Many things… we need to talk about so many things Ezekiel" Evie replied while Ezekiel gestured for her to follow him to the sitting room.

He sat comfortably on the single king-sized golden chair while Evie made herself comfortable on the sofa.

"First of all, I want to thank you for listening to me," Evie's appreciation stunned her, so she would plead with herself to get what she wants!

"Why am I not allowed to leave whenever I want?" Evie asked, her freedom was very important to her.

"For safety reasons," Ezekiel replied.

"Safety reasons like what? I am old enough to take care of myself!"

"I know but you would never understand the reasons behind all this, I swear that you would never believe me and you would call me crazy if I tell you why you are not allowed to go out anytime you want," Ezekiel stated firmly

"Make me understand Ezekiel, I need to know why?" Evie retorted

"That is the point, I can not make you understand Evelynn you would never understand," Ezekiel's response got Evie thinking.

"Fine, but that does not stop me from leaving when necessary," Evie stated, causing Ezekiel to nod his head.

An awkward silence took over after Evie's statement and the couple seemed to be lost in their thoughts.

"Why do we have separate rooms?" Evie did not know when the question escaped her lips, she felt like taking it back but she had already voiced it out and there was no remedy to that.

Ezekiel stared at her before a smirk appeared on his gorgeous face but only lasted for a few seconds.

"Do you like me so much that you want to share a room with me?" Ezekiel asked.
