Connor read through all the Spells and couldn't believe his eyes. Each and every one of these would be extremely useful, especially out there in the real world.
As he read through, he selected 2 Spells that grabbed his attention, Spells that would be useful in Gaya and on Earth.
[Chill Touch: You create a ghostly, skeletal hand curse that digs into the target within a 10 Meter range. When attacked the Curse activates and assaults the target with the chill of the grave. Target cannot heal itself until the Chill vanishes after 5 Seconds causing damage and slowness for the duration.
Curse lasts for 5 minutes unless broken (Cannot be stacked)]
[Lesser Eldritch Blast: A darkness spell that releases a beam of crackling energy toward a creature within 10 Meters range causing chaos damage.. 3 Star Dexterity required]
'The Chill Touch is a curse type spell that causes Frost Damage and Slowness Debuff if the cursed target was attacked while the Eldritch Blast is a Chaos type ranged attack that will coordinate well with the Chill Touch. The Fire Bolt is a ranged attack as well but i don't want to risk canceling the frost damage with fire damage' Connor sat as he contemplated with a smile. "I don't know what Chaos damage is, which might not be what I think it will be" Connor said out loud.
[Chaos damage is one of the five damage types. It is the rarest damage type and the hardest to get resistance against. Chaos damage bypasses energy shields, causing damage or reducing Mana directly. Although chaos damage reduction is based on resistance, it is not considered elemental damage]
Grim appeared and opened to a page with the explanation that Connor needed on it. With a smile Connor thanked it and it quickly vanished.
"Grim is more useful than I thought!" Connor smirked. "Now, onto the troublesome part" He said, looking at the Spells again with the numbers in front.
[Chill Touch] 2 000 SE
[Eldritch Blast] 3 000 SE
"Chill Touch alone is good but won't be as effective, but what choice do I have? I'll start with it first and work my way up to the Eldritch Blast" Connor said. He looked at his remaining SE and sighed. "Only 2 420 SE" He muttered.
The Spell was quickly paid for as he could feel something being imprinted into his very soul. Knowledge and hand signs of the Spell appeared in his head out of nowhere, putting a smile on his face. He just learned that to cast the Spell he couldn't just say its name and it magically appears, but certain hand signs were needed to cast it properly.
Usually back before the Ruins appeared, Mages would need to practice the hand signs and remember all knowledge pertaining to the Spell to be able to cast it without a problem, but now Connor felt like he could do it with his eyes closed, though the speed needed some practice.
With a smile, Connor looked towards a one foot long bug that was passing on its merry way and raised his hands. They interlocked together as he muttered something before he made some space and raised his thumbs towards the sky, then towards the bug.
A transparent icy blue skeletal hand appeared out of thin air, rushing towards the bug and digging into it. The bug though did not seem to feel anything as it continued walking without a reaction.
"Did it work?" Connor said in confusion, grabbing his sword and lightly hitting the bug on the side, flipping it over. Just as it happened, a thin icy mist appeared quickly and engulfed the bug, slowly freezing it. It struggled and struggled but there was nothing it could do about it before it dropped and the mist disappeared.
"It's dead.. Nice!" Connor smiled. "So a target wouldn't feel the curse, that might be useful but i'm not sure if they'll be able to see the Skeleton hand or not"
This question might not be answered anytime soon since he couldn't just go around attacking people, especially using Magic in the Camp.
"Too bad I can't silently cast too, it would have made things easier" He muttered. The fact that he had to take some time to do the hand signs kind of annoyed him, since no one will wait for you in a real fight. "Maybe that's just for the low level Spells" He reassured himself. "Getting SE in the area around here is nearly impossible so maybe it's about time I started making my way to Harbor Town… as for talking to the Don.. nah, i'm good. I don't want to stay here much longer"
All Connor had to do around the camp was find the rest of the Blade Fragments, get his reward and maybe finish a few things before leaving.. And that is what he plans to do.
Connor currently had 3 Blade Fragments and he knew where the other 2 were… Craig and Brog!
"I'm probably equal if not better than Craig at the moment, but Brog might be an issue" Connor opened Grim and looked at his 420 SE remaining and thought. 'The Ring of Skill!' He remembered the Ring Connor first bought from Doug when he first came to the camp and removed it from his finger, seeing the 1 Star in Dexterity drop. He quickly opened the Stat increase in Grim and saw that Dexterity cost 200 SE now instead of 300 SE.
"This is good!" He muttered, adding a point in. He felt his muscles and body lighten as he put the ring back on, he could feel the difference of the 3 Star Dexterity compared to before and he felt good. His body's reaction time, speed and aim was probably on a whole different level now.
"Alright, time to fight Craig" Connor muttered, looking ahead beyond the houses and locking onto a man laughing as he spoke with another.
