"What's the cause of all this commotion and thousands of calls, Ben?" Sideon asked his assistant.
"The system went out when they were reprocessing the Internet after installing the anti-virus." Ben reported, "After some hours of fixing it back, we discovered that the Internet has been seized".
"Seized?!" Sideon asked, shocked.
"Yes sir, the whole system gave the alert warning."
"What's the current state, right now?" Mr Albert implored, worriedly.
Ben hesitated at first then continued, "The satellite seems to have broken."
" What?!" Sideon exclaimed.
"Some parts of the city might have their lights shut down for now." Ben continued, "Should we inform the president?"
"What? Of course not! Gosh, this is annoying." Sideon cursed, "I informed you guys earlier that you should be careful and be patient with the system so you don't affect the satellite." Sideon complained with a harsh tone pacing up and down in his office.
"We are sorry sir." Ben pleaded, softly.
"Book an appointment with the vice president in two hours!" Sideon commanded, ignoring the plea.
"Two hours is too early sir." Ben resisted, his head bent low.
"It's past eight, Ben!" Sideon snapped, "Book an appointment!"
"I, I_ will do that sir." Ben stammered to avoid being scolded.
"Do it now! This minute!"
"Okay sir, I'll take my leave," Ben muttered and pivoted to leave.
"Ben?" Sideon called.
"Yes sir."
"Bring out your cell phone and dial Miss Jane's number!" Sideon commanded again with a hoarse voice.
"Sir? Alright sir, on it." Ben muttered and quickly dialled the number of the vice president's assistant.
"Hello? I am Jane, the personal assistant to the vice president. How may I help you?" Came in from the other end
"Loudspeaker!" Sideon clasped.
"It's Ben," Ben whispered and clicked on the loudspeaker.
"Oh, Good morning Mr Ben!" Jane greeted him.
"Good morning to you too, sorry for the early call. My boss will love to meet with the vice president in two hours." Ben rushed his words as his boss was staring dagger at him.
"Why didn't you book an appointment earlier? Though there are no appointments till noon, my boss might be busy at home." Jane explained.
"It's urgent Jane." Ben pleaded.
"Okay, let's do it this way. In an hour, I'll give you a call if or not my boss can meet with your boss."
"I'll be waiting and please try to convince her." Ben pleaded again.
"You don't have to be formal, bye for now." She said and ended the call immediately.
"Huff…" Ben let out the breath he has been holding for the whole time.
"Tell the workers I'll be visiting this evening," Sideon ordered and moved to sit on his armchair.
"Noted sir, can I_"
"You may leave." Sideon cut him shut.
With so much excitement, Ben rushed out of the office while Sideon picked up his cell and dialled his best friend's number.
"Hey man." Riley greeted.
"Where are you?" Sideon asked.
"At the satellite station," Riley answered.
"Oh, man I love you!" Sideon uttered happily. His friend always seems to surprise him.
"Man, I hate you! How could you have kept this from me?"
"I'm so sorry, I didn't expect it to be this serious man." Sideon murmured his voice softly, "So tell me what is happening at the moment."
"The engines are tattered, it seems like someone tampered with them. GEMS is here to try to fix it and figure out what's wrong."
"That's a relief, I plan to visit Casey."
"What about the President?"Riley asked, bothered. "You don't plan on putting him behind."
"He's mad at me at this moment," Sideon muttered, scratching his head like something was itching him there.
"He'll be madder." Riley Informed.
"I know."
"What if he knows already? You know, you are doomed if you don't tell him now." Riley warned.
"That will never happen, don't jinx things please," Sideon said, now frustrated.
"Fine, fine, you should visit the site."
"I will, this evening."
"Good, see you soon."
"Riley, can you please do me a favour?" Sideon pleaded before ending the call.
"I always did," Riley answered and chuckled.
"Try tracking who tampered with the satellite, please."
"That's not my work."
"It'll be good if it's done by you, my friend."
"Do you trust me this much?" Riley asked with a relaxed tone.
"You are my best friend, Riley." Sideon compliments.
"How's Julianne and Julie?" Riley asked, changing the topic.
"They are good," Sideon replied, perplexed.
Riley hesitated, "And Mathias?"
"He's also good, Geez! I haven't seen him for a few days now." Sideon admitted.
"Great of a father." Riley said jokingly, "When you see him, tell him to visit."
"I'll deliver your message."
"Bye." The call ended.
"Oops, this is so frustrating!" Sideon thought tiredly. He shifted himself on his seat and continued with his research.
It was break already, and both Shed and Davis had gone to meet Mathias at their private area where they discussed things during school hours, the rooftop.
Mr Anderson can't be serious with what he told us, I thought you said it was a good one." Shed groaned, "He doesn't expect us to be the 'Aways' when we are always the 'home'.
"It's okay to be 'Aways' if it could be other schools. I hate it when we have to play games with Weston college." Davis added bitterly.
"Especially when it has to be with Ashton." Shed completed.
"Practice begins tomorrow. You don't have to be ignorant, we are gamers." Maths hoarse but calm tone muttered.
"Are you good with it?" Davis questioned him.
"I'm okay but not with Ashton." Maths answered by watching the vehicles down on the road.
"Davis? Did you know Nancy was asked to participate in the girl's game?". Shed reported.
"Maths?" Davis called, ignoring what Shed was saying, "DEF Internet was broken yesterday. I heard my dad telling his assistant early this morning."
"It's none of my business." Maths said not bothered.
"Your dad is the supervisor."
"He is, I am not, Davis." Maths warned with outrage.
"Someone is getting tense." Shed chuckled playfully.
"It's not funny," Davis said and tapped his head.
"Must you tap my head?!" Shed attacked.
He chased after Davis until they were both tired and collapsed to the floor.
"Firefox." Shed uttered, breathing hard from the run.
"What happened? You can't catch me?" Davis mocked.
"I don't feel like attending class again?" Shed mumbled after feeling himself from the chase.
"I was also thinking about it, Why don't we go partying?" Davis suggested.
"Coney Island." Maths added to their amusement.
"Let's move!" Davis shouted.
"I want to sing, not a party." Shed complained.
"Yo man! I thought you love parties now." Davis asked while Shed shook his head.
"Don't worry, we can also sing at coney. It'll be a lot of fun." Davis assured and put his hand around his shoulders.
A few minutes later, they left the school to go to Coney island.
