Angie just couldn't stop thinking how harsh they were to her. So, she decided to sing and also to show them some of her dancing steps. They looked at her confused when she stood up from her seat to stand in front of them.
Just then, she started singing, making Shed gasp. "That's... that's our song!" He exclaimed, proudly.
They watched in awe as she sang and danced to the rhythm of the song she was singing. The song was one of the best top hits in Brooklyn at the time Shed released it, titled "Goodbye."
I want you out of my head
I want you out of my bed-room tonight
There's no way I could save you
'Cause I need to say too
I'm no good at goodbyes
Her movements were awesome, making them look nonplussed.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
I'm no good at goodbyes
Then she ended it with the softness in her voice making the song sound more emotional. The whole building went tranquil when she ended the song. Softly, a faint clap came in immediately.
They all looked around and wondered who had been listening to the song apart from them. Just in time, little Julie puck out her head from her hidden position.
Both Nancy and Shed burst out laughing while Angie looked puzzled.
"Oh my god! She's beautiful." Angie thought inside her inner mind.
"You are awesome!" Julie complimented her and made a thumbs-up sign with her tiny hand.
"You think so?" Nancy asked, spreading her hands wide to receive a big hug from the little girl. Julie ran into her, smiling happily.
"You did well, Angela." Nancy also complimented her.
"Thank you so much."She announced, blushing hard before settling back into her seat.
"Who is she, Nancy?" Julie asked as Nancy carried her up on her lap.
"She's my new friend", Nancy answered, pitching her side cheek gently.
"What's your name?" She asked and faced Angie.
"I'm Angela and you are?"
"I'm Julie." She answered, beaming widely.
"Nice meeting with you, Julie, you are beautiful." Angie complimented.
"Aw?" Little Julie asked, beaming hard.
"Yes, you are cute with your smiles," Angela answered, returning the smile.
"You are beautiful also and your voice is amazing." Julie complimented back.
"Thanks," Angie whispered.
"Don't forget, we are also here," Nancy said disguising a jealous look which made Angie and Julie laugh out loud.
"Davis?" Nancy called when she noticed he had been dull and looked down since they came in.
He was always jovial and playful when he met new people. She sensed he doesn't feel alright. He looked at her wanting to know the reason why she'd called him.
"You don't look good? Is anything wrong?"
"I'm fine you don't have to worry about me. ''He said and stood up to leave but was stopped by Nancy who held onto his hand.
"Can you please have a chat with us before you leave, I brought Angie here to hang out with you guys, don't screw things please." She pleaded, sadly. He looked at Angie and turned back to her.
He's just not in the mood tonight but because he doesn't want Angela to feel bad about the whole thing he decided to stay back. Nancy had smiles all over her face as she stood up and went down the stairs into the living room to get some drinks and snacks.
"Angela, are you a musician?" Julie asked.
"No."
"Why? You sing nice."
"I'm into swimming," Angie replied.
"You can swim?!" The little girl exclaimed.
"She took first in the swimming competition yesterday," Shed replied.
"You... How did you know I came top?" Angie asked amused.
"I also go to school in Brooklyn, anything special about that?" Shed asked.
"No, not really, just asking."
"Maths saved you from drowning, do you know?" Shed asked.
"Wait, what?!" Angie exclaimed, "He did what?"
Just then, his face came into the picture. She could now properly view the boy who sat down on the couch staring at her, it was Maths. The one who saved her from the water and asked if she was okay, was still him. Holy! How could she have failed to recognize him at first glance?
"Are you okay?" Nancy asked, stretching out a glass cup filled with red wine to her.
"Huh? Yes, I'm fine." Angie answered sheepishly, collecting the glass from her.
"Can we do something more fun?" Davis asked, "It's boring here."
"Can you sing some songs for us again?" Julie asked, directing her question to Angie.
"Yes, she will." Nancy answered then she faced the boy, "Can you join her?"
"What?!" Both Shed and Davis exclaimed.
"Yes please, join her!" Julie shouted.
"Shhhhh." Shed whispered, placing his middle finger on her lips.
"Please." Julie pleaded again.
"Can we?" Shed faced Davis.
At first, he was reluctant but Julie asked for it, he had no choice but to give in and since Angie has sung beautifully, he decided to give it a try, who knows it could be fun.
Meanwhile, from his den, Maths watched them as they sang happily to some of his songs. He was annoyed at first that Angela stopped their recording but with the way she sang beautifully, he decided to let go of his anger.
Four of them sang and did a lot of interesting stuff like playing games, and cards and asking each other personal questions. They had fun till the dead of night. Julie was the first to get tired and asked to leave for her room. The boys got drunk while Nancy and Angie made fun of them. It was late in the night and the mansion was already calm when Angie felt pressed. She tapped Nancy who was already sleeping and asked for the direction to the toilet.
Unknowingly, Nancy pointed out Maths den to her. Angie entered the den gloomily admiring everything she was seeing. She moved around, having no clue of where she was and also forgetting what she came to do as the whole place looks stunning.
Just then, the studio door opened, and Maths stepped in while Angie turned to face him. Shocked and confused, they both stood and stared at each other, puzzled.
