_Angie's Pov_
Jane and I ended the call after minutes of chattering. We talked about things we've missed doing together, including going to Dallas to have fun. She also congratulated me for taking the lead in my first swimming competition. The call finally ended, though we have much more to say.
I took a nap for a few hours and by the time I woke up, it was already past four in the evening. I stood up immediately to prepare for the evening meeting with Nancy's buddies.
"Wait a minute!" I thought aloud, "Did Nancy inform them already?" I was nervous. What if I'm not welcome? What if they dislike or hate me? What if they ignore me as they do other kids in class? I lost hope and thought of giving Nancy a call to ask if she did inform them.
I hate being embarrassed but I don't think that's gonna happen since it's Nancy and no one else. After wasting time in selecting my outfit, I decided on a black trainer to match my black floral gown and a pink handbag to fit. I just wanna be formal, so I don't look like a novice. At exactly 6 pm, I heard Dennis call my name from the living room. I knew immediately, Nancy had arrived.
I picked up my handbag immediately and rushed downstairs. I met Dennis giving her a warm welcome.
"You look more beautiful than my sister." Dennis complimented and smirked looking in my direction.
"Your sister is cute and pretty," Nancy answered with red cheeks.
"No, she's not, her looks disgust me," Dennis whispered, loud enough for me to hear. I gave him a deadly glance before sitting down next to Nancy who was smiling hard.
"Can I go with you guys?" Dennis asked, which made me scoff.
"No handsome we_"
"We should be on our way Nancy, he's just being silly." I interrupted, dragging her up to her feet.
"Wicked being." Dennis cursed while we both burst out laughing.
"You can't go with the ugly duckling, can you?" I uttered, spreading my lip into a smirk.
"Not you miss, I'm referring to the beautiful duckling here." He replied with pride.
"Sorry honey, you can't come with us without my permission."
"Can I?" He asked and faced Nancy.
"You can't go with us boy, it's grown-up hangouts," Nancy explained, calmly. I poke out my tongue to make a joke of him which he returned with an angry look.
"Good boy takes care of the house, dad will join you soon!" I shouted as we walked out of the house towards Nancy's blue Porsche car.
"Where are we heading to?" I asked as soon as we entered her car.
"The boys are hanging out with Mathias, so we are heading to SAH mansion."She answered as she ignite her key and started off to the road.
"Alright, but I'm a bit nervous, would they welcome me in?" I asked with a worried look.
"You don't have to be a girl, as long as I'm right there with you, you can feel at peace." She replied kindly.
For the whole journey, we talked about what we can do to make the night interesting and how to celebrate my first success in swimming.
The three boys were on the balcony recording their song when Nancy drove in her Porsche. They watched as she parked her car and suddenly poked out their eyes, shocked and confused to see Nancy together with Angie alighting from the car.
Maths scoffed, "How could Nancy have brought this nasty girl to my home?" He thought.
While the three waited patiently to view what was happening, Nancy looked up and saw them from where she was standing and waved at them.
Angie also looked up and saw the three boys staring queerly at her. She became nervous as their looks were confusing and strange like they weren't expecting what they just saw. Nancy patted her on her back and led her into the mansion. After waiting patiently for their arrival, they saw the girl striding up the stairs that led to the balcony.
"Hi, guys!" Nancy greeted, walking majestically towards them.
"You never inform us about your visit?" Shed questioned his gaze on Angie.
"I'm so sorry for that, wanna make it a surprise., Nancy answered and noticed their eyes were all on shy Angie whose head was bowed low.
"Sorry for the late introduction, meet my new friend, Angela, Angela this is Shed, Davis and Maths." She introduced, pointing her fingers at each of them.
"Looks like the sly and shy girl came visiting," Davis spoke up after a short pause.
"Hi!" Angie greeted shyly.
"You didn't inform us about your new friend, Nancy?",
Shed uttered calmly.
"That's why I brought her here to greet you guys," Nancy answered, giving an eye signal to Angie, to take her seat. But as soon as she sat down, Maths stood up, took his guitar and stridden out into his den.
"Nevermind, he's always like that," Nancy informed Angie when she sensed the girl wasn't comfortable with the way Maths left them alone.
"You know how Maths despise girls, how could you possibly bring her here without informing us." Davis confronted his best friend.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, I just wanted you guys to meet her." Nancy pleaded.
"He despises girls?" Angie whispered into Nancy's ear.
"Yea, somehow," Nancy answered feeling guilty for not informing them about her.
"I'm sorry, please don't take it to heart, he's just being careful with girls." She whispered again to Angie.
All Angie could do was nod her head since she couldn't feel herself anymore, thinking if Maths already hated her.
"So tell me about yourself, Angela," Davis said.
"Huh?" She muttered, looking confused.
"Yes, give us brief details about yourself," Shed added.
"Humm... I'm Angie" She started, "I guess you guys already know I'm from California, right?" She asked, staring keenly at their faces.
"It's okay, go on." Shed answered.
"I live with my dad and my little brother here in New York." She said and paused
"Is that all?" Davis asked, wanting to know more, "Tell us what you love doing the most?"
"Singing." She answered sheepishly
"Finished?" Davis asked.
"Stop it, Davis, she won't feel comfortable with your questions," Nancy warned.
"I love dancing also." Angie continued, eager to please them.
"Hmm." Davis hummed, "But did you know your presence here just stopped our evening rehearsal for today?"
"I have no idea what you are talking about," Angie replied, sincerely.
"Never mind." Nancy said to stop Davis from uttering any more words, "What's in for today guys?"
"Nothing, since you guys spoiled the fun already." Shed answered gloomily.
"I'm so sorry", Nancy pleaded, displaying her puppy look.
"You said you can sing right?" Shed referred to Angie.
"Yes." She answered sheepishly.
"Alright then, welcome to the gang of singers." Shed introduced.
"Yeah, you're very popular," Angie answered, making Shed blush.
"So, since you already spoil the fun, you'll have to make it up to us by singing." Shed informed.
"What!" Angie exclaimed.
"Or you take your leave," Davis added.
"That's too harsh!" Nancy protested angrily, facing Davis who smirked devilishly at her.
"I will," Angie agreed.
"Good then, but the guitarist isn't here, so you can only sing with my beat."
"I'll try my best", Angie assured them.
Angie just couldn't stop thinking how harsh they were to her and decided to give them more glimpse of who she is.
So, she decided to sing and also to show them some of her dancing steps.
They looked at her confused when she stood up from her seat to stand in front of them.
Just then, she started singing, making Shed gasp.
"That's... that's our song!" He exclaimed, proudly.
