|Reels Hill|
Only seven of the Coyotes were present inside the penthouse located at the bottom of Reels Hill in Brooklyn's outskirts, having a private meeting. At the same time, they were entertained. Some were drinking and chattering while others were silent enjoying the atmosphere. Coyotes are nine in number. They are a gang of people who came together to get a mission done.
After some time, the ninth Coyote by the name of Icon stood up to address them, "I received a beautiful gift this morning."
"Tell us about it." Jim (fifth Coyote) the most jovial among them, said.
"Not until Great Coyote gets here," Icon answered.
"Then, why did you have to tell us you received_", Jim didn't complete his word when the big front door was opened for their head to come in.
Duke moved to his position and sat on the armchair designed with pure gold. He looked cool but he ruled the Coyotes gang.
"I guessed I missed a lot." He uttered as his voice filled the whole place.
"Nothing is being discussed yet, I was waiting for your arrival before breaking down the wonderful news I got this morning." Icon relayed.
"Alright then, I'm here now, can we go on?"
"Tycoons sent in a message about the work being done successfully."
"Wow, that's great!" Jim exclaimed.
"It's great news Icon, now we can start the full operation." Duke conveyed happily.
"But, there's a problem." Icon relayed, changing the mood.
"Leave that for another time," Duke muttered as he did not want to hear anything else than what was just relayed.
"Let him talk, it might be useful." Guns (4th Coyote) stated.
"Gems are the ones fixing the repairs." Icon continued.
"Is there any problem with that?" Guns asked.
"I understand what he's trying to say, Guns," Duke replied. "GEMS are well-powered engineers, the fixed volt could be disco_"
"Tycoon's works are always perfectly done." Guns assured.
"GEMS are also good." Icon disagreed.
"What do you think of Xyle ( second Coyote)?" Guns asked and faced the silent but most dangerous person among them.
"How fit are Tycoons?" Xyle threw in his question.
"Much well fitted." Guns answered.
"We should trust them for a good job then."
"Frey (eight Coyotes)?" Duke called.
"Let's get started." Frey agreed.
"Alright, make sure the plan is successful this time, no mistake." Duke warned with a hushed voice, "And make sure your men are saved and not heard of."
He then began to address them on a lot of things before the meeting was adjourned.
Riley knocked on Rose's door for some seconds before it opened up.
"Hi!" Riley greeted.
"Hi!" Rose answered and gave a passage for him. She led him into her simple but cute house.
"What do I offer you?" She asked, walking towards her kitchen.
"Water please, sorry I've got no time to visit during the weekend as I've promised." Riley pleaded.
"It's okay." She replied cheerfully, handing the glass of water to him.
"It's not okay Rose." He let out, collected the water from her and muttered a thank you before gulping down the whole content. "You don't look okay either."
"What have you been up to?" She inquired, ignoring his words.
"Sideon is facing a lot of challenges."
"Tell me about it." She nudged him and took her seat beside him.
"I'm not here for the.t"
"Just tell me, please." She researched, "We'll talk about what you came here for later."
"I want to talk about that now Rose, don't keep me in suspense."
"You shouldn't bother much, I'll explain to you in full detail. Just tell me what is going on inside the White House."
"Rose?!" Riley called this time his voice was tense. "Do you know why I have to be here? Because I do care a lot about you. What is going on in there it's none of your business, so now would you start explaining to me what has happened that I don't know of."
She felt the heat that came out from his words. With joy written all over her face, she asked, "So you do care a lot for me?"
"Get to the point Rose." He mumbled calmly.
"Alright, alright since you insist. Eduardo called ``not quite long after you came in." She relayed and paused to see his reaction. He didn't show any facial expression as he knew it'll happen.
"He came to visit the other time because he was sorry." Rose continued.
"Sorry? For?" He asked, Impatience.
"For staying away all this time, he said he has been busy." She muttered, softly.
"Busy for the past years?"
"It's obvious."
"What's obvious? I mean it's up to ten years now!"
"Why are you freaking out? You are too hasty." She argued and stood up, moved to her table desk and leaned on it. "It's not like I needed him anyway. The years are so long now, I know. Nevertheless, I filed the divorce myself and my signature was the first to get on that paper"
Words were lost and they both went into silence thinking about the past.
"All he wants from me is for me to accept his apologies." Rose continued. "It's tough for me to grant him his wish too because I can't forget what he has done." Her voice became hushed and he knew immediately that she was teary. He stood up, moved to her and gave her a peaceful hug. But her tears bloom more. She cried into his arms while he patted her back to console her.
"I'm so sorry to take things this far. I just felt it's not justified if he just comes in now to give excuses." Riley whispered to her.
They disseminate gently from the hug while his right thumb reaches for her eyes to wipe away the tears that have fallen from them.
"Don't you cry, my baby darling?" He coarse softly, grinning widely, "Smile for me please."
She stifled her tears staring at him with much love. Right from the start, this man cared for her. He was always there for her in pain and worries but she was too dumb to notice. Her love for Eduardo was nothing but pain but if she had loved this man from the beginning, would she have received a lot of happiness?
"Riley?" She called gloomily.
"Yes? baby darling." He answered, jokingly.
"Thank you so much for your support and time, I'm so grateful".
"Why are you formal? What are friends for?" He said and led her back to the couch.
"I'm sorry." She sniffled.
He held her face with his hands bending low in front of her, "I told you not to tell me those words ever and please don't cry because of him again, I don't like it when you wet your eyes."
She nodded approvingly.
"Am so hungry, can someone get me something to eat?"
"There's no food for you since you refuse to tell me what's going on inside the White House." Rose threatened.
"Someone is trying to hack into the DEF system," Riley explained and stood up to sit beside her, holding her hands.
"Seriously, How?!" She exclaimed.
"I was at the satellite station last week, the wires were disconnected by someone."
"Heavens! Has the damage been repaired?" She asked, curious.
"Part of it is repaired."
"How is Sideon? Is he okay?"
"He's trying hard to save his career," Riley replied and rubbed his hands against hers.
"Poor fellow." She muttered.
"Can you get me something to eat now, miss?"
"In a minute," Rose assured, stood up and went into the kitchen.
As soon as she left, a call came into Riley's phone. He looked at his phone screen and discovered it was his best friend.
"Where are you?" Sideon asked, his voice husked.
"Any problem?" Riley replied.
"Wherever you are, please hurry down to the white house, all the systems have been blown out," Sideon reported.
"What?! I'll be there in a few minutes." Riley assured and ended the call almost immediately.
"Rose?" He called.
"Yes?" She countered from the kitchen.
"I'll give you a call." He said and hurried out of the house.
Surprised by what he said, she ran out of the kitchen back to the sitting room but it was too late as he was gone.
