_Angie's Pov_
It's been a month since we moved to New York. New York City, I admit, it's a nice, cool, classic and friendly place to live in. The little time I spent was so exciting and fun. I've had a lot of positive scenarios that interest me a lot even though they were a bit stressful. Home is sweet but school is fun. Gradually, I felt like I had found another home. At times, I don't remember where I came from. Of course, my school, Brooklyn Academy to be precise, makes it more enjoyable and entertaining to live in New York.
What I love most in my school were the sports activities. Though I haven't witnessed any competition for sports, I knew any event that takes place will be more fascinating. Since the school made it compulsory for students to have a game, I decided to join the swimming game, thanks to Nancy.
Nancy and I became friends. I met with her again, weeks ago during the school sports activities. She was nice and friendly so I was able to get comfortable with her and adjust to school.
Being the principal's only daughter, she was well-known as a talented swimmer, a dancer and a cheerleader in the basketball game, that's a lot to do.
She introduced me to Mr Kelvin, the team supervisor who was in charge of the girls swimming game and within two days, I was accepted and became a full member of the BGSG (Brooklyn Girl's Swimming game).
I felt lucky and happy when Nancy told me I was the first female friend she ever had.
"I'm not the type that keeps friends." She reviewed with me one day during lunch.
"Why?" I asked, bothered
"I am brought up that way." She stated.
"Don't you feel lonely at times?" I asked with curiosity.
She shook her head. "I don't have time to be lonely, moreover I have people I mingle with."
"Aren't they, your friends?" I implored a little bit amused.
"More than friends, Angie. They are the closest relatives I've had ever since I was young."
"Oh!" I mouthed.
"Seems boring right?" She beamed.
"I guess." I retorted, picking at my lunch.
"Davis is part of them and my favourite best buddy."
"You mean Davis in class?" I asked uncontrollably.
"Yeah, the others are like brothers to me."
Nancy has given me full details about each and everything happening in the school. She explained the in and out of the school and my class was not excluded for the cute boys, I discovered that they were one of the richest kids in school.
Shed was the name of the cute boy with green eyeballs whom I met on my first day of school. Though I am still curious to know why he gave me a ride to school the other day he's unapproachable and also one of the best singers in New York, so I don't think I can face him.
Davis was cool and jovial, I've noticed and it's still surprising that he is the president's son. He doesn't even behave like one. But I don't understand why he always yells at Miss Rose whenever she refers to him by his surname.
At some point, he stopped attending her class. Heaven knows what was going on between them.
"We've been best of friends since childhood, but I got used to Davis the most." She continued.
"I never knew you are this close. I don't see you guys together." I conveyed, anxiously.
"You never noticed." She countered calmly.
"I envy your relationships, I left my hometown because my dad was recruited and ended up leaving my childhood best friend behind," I muttered regretfully.
"Childhood friendships are the best since everyone gets to know each other more and understands each other."
I looked up at her as she ate silently. She's kinda cool.
"Can you tell me about your buddies?" I asked shyly. My question brought a smile to her face.
"Our friendship begins ten years ago." She started. "We could have met earlier but something came up." She paused when two junior students came to request a selfie from her. After taking a shot, she continued. "My mom had a lot of pain when she was pregnant with me. She had to move to her parent's hometown so she could be taken care of better. During delivery, mom had to go through cesarean section and because of that she was unable to give birth any longer."
She looked bitter after pouring out one of her secrets.
"What happened?" I asked feeling bashful.
"The doctor said her womb was too small to hold in a child and she would have lost the only one she had if she has left it hanging."
"Am so sorry," I muttered feeling guilty for bringing up the past.
She was not bothered since she continued. "My mom's love for children is much to an extent that when she overheard the doctor telling my dad that she wouldn't give birth again, she went into a coma. She wasn't able to feed or take care of me properly. Due to all of this, I'd to stay with my grandparents for a very long time before returning to Brooklyn."
"Your story is painful but at the same time wonderful." I complimented her to cheer her up.
"Why did you say so?" She inquired surprised.
"Because the child that was not well nursed is now a well-known star", I teased while she grinned hard.
"I'm so excited hearing that from you Angie." She mumbled mentioning my nickname.
"It's my pleasure," I muttered.
"Alright since I've said a lot, let's move into how I met my lovely buddies."
"Yeah."
"Davis was the first person I met among the three when I came to Brooklyn. His mom had taken him along with her to welcome us when we arrived. My mom and his have been friends since they met in college. They both married and got pregnant in the same year but Davis is two months older than me."
"No wonder you are into him this much." I interrupted.
"I never told you I'm into him." She blushed, giving me a shred of perfect evidence.
"I can see it all over you," I whispered while she burst into laughter. "I caught you right?"
"Oh yeah! You did." She responded laughing hard.
"Hold on, don't tell me you two are together?" I conceded and made a wide gasped
"Angie!"
"Yes? I need my answer."
"We are not, please." She replied, her voice low now. "It can't work out between us, I'm not his type."
"Why? I mean since he's your best buddy, then you will be his also."
"You can't understand." She concluded.
Since I don't want her down again I changed back to our main topic.
"How did you meet the other two?"
"Through Davis, I got to know Mathias and Shed. Trust me, they are lovely people except for the fact that Mathias is too cold and grumpy. Well, I don't blame him, he also has a grumpy past." She uttered and sipped from her apple juice on the table.
"Mathias, I don't think I've seen him before."
"Yeah, because you're new and again he's not the type you can see on regular basis."
"Hmm_"
"Would_"
The call from her phone stopped her from what she was saying as she stared at the screen before picking it up.
"Hey!" She to the other person.
"Alright, I'll be there."
"I have to go now." She said, sadly "See to later".
"Alright, bye!"
Today, I got the opportunity to participate in the track water for the first race as a newbie.
I have a passion for swimming, but I haven't given it much joy like the way I am doing it right now. Mr Kelvin needed to know how good the newbie are after the few training and decided to hold a competition. Since the whole school was invited, Nancy promised to be there which made me practice hard in order not to disappoint her.
I got down from the cab that drove me to school, paid the chauffeur and entered the school, hurriedly. Suddenly someone hit passed me. I looked up to see Davis climbing the stairs to the class. I'm very sure he did that on purpose and just shrugged it off before taking the left route to the swimming room. I won't be attending a class today. Nancy asked me to do some exercises before the track.

As usual, he woke up sweating profusely.
"When will this nightmare ever going to get away from him?" Maths thought.
He's tired of having nightmares and might fall sick on some days if this particular dream won't stop coming.
He rose from his bed lazily while the cat meowed at the sound of his master, yawning. He picked up his little but old cat and gave him its morning greeting by smoothing his hairy body.
Then, he strides to his bathroom to have his shower and while he was bathing, he was thinking about his schedule for the day.
He thought of his basketball training which will be held in the evening and also remembered the swimming track that will take place in his school by 2:00.
His mentor told him to take his place because of an urgent matter that came up. He'd declined but later accepted after lots of pleading.
He can swim but he doesn't do it frequently since it always reminds him of his past.
He finished bathing, wore his clothes and arrange his bag for the evening practice before striding out into his sitting room expecting to see little Julie sitting on his sofa, her legs crossed.
Unfortunately, his expectations were denied as little Julie was not in his den today. He heaved a sign of relief. But as he was about to take his leave, Julie crept out from her hidden position. Surprised and confused, he hardened his gaze at her.
They stare at each other for some seconds before little Julie bashes her eyelids.
"Good morning, Mathias", She greeted smiling beautifully.
Yet, his gaze was still on her. The girl just seems to amaze him.
Without responding to her greetings, he turned away into his studio. He picked up his guitar and placed it inside the bag.
"Could I be of help?" Julie asked about entering the studio.
"Stop right there!" Maths fired, stretching his hand to give the stopping sign.
"Do not take any more steps into this place"!, He commanded, harshly.
"I wanna help" She muttered feeling down.
"No please, I don't need your help. Just take a step backwards and get out of here!" He commanded again, already tensed.
Without no hesitation, Julie turned back and left him den. His anger seems worse today than any other day.
The swimming centre was empty when Angie entered. "Seems like no one is here yet." She thought striding into the swimming room so she could change her school uniform into the shorts and top she brought from home for her exercise. At exactly 8:35 am, she started her exercise and begin to jog all around the swimming pool.
When she finally checked her stopwatch, it was ten am and decided to stop. She has done almost all the routes she knew for exercising and was already tired.
She then decided to take a break for thirty minutes. During her short break, she moved all around the swimming area, reading rules and regulations pasted on the walls. She went through them and was able to grasp and understand some things about swimming. She continued to move around until she got to the edge of the swimming pool and decided to watch the coolness of the water. Then an idea pops into her head.
She needed to know how many seconds or minutes it'll take her to hold her breath inside the water and decided to try it out. She set her stopwatch before diving into the water. Maths on the other end entered the school premises at exactly ten thirty am. Everywhere was now cool and calm since classes are already having lectures.
He got down from his car and stride his way into the swimming centre. He then took the right route to the school swimming pool as he was very sure no one will be there since it was not yet time for the competition.
As usual, he found the resting couch placed on the left-hand side of the room and lay on it. He turned his side to face the swimming pool to get a view of it as it always reminds him of his mom. Suddenly he saw a movement inside the water. "Could someone be in there?" He assumed, nervously. He decided to stand up and take his leave as he don't want anyone to find him there. But, it was too late because Angie brought out her head from the water, facing him.
Perplexity took over him while Angie was also shocked. He gaze largely at her since he couldn't look away as he was surprised to see a beautiful girl at that moment. He looked calm for the first time in ages.
Unfortunately, Angie's cough brought him back to his normal self. She coughed so hard and tried to maintain her stand but was unable to as she fell back into the water. Maths who was still gazing at her, watched as she struggled with her breath inside the water. Thinking she will get back herself, he turned and started.
But as he strides out, he sensed something might go wrong and knew he will regret it if anything happens to her, just like a few years back. Immediately, he ran hastily, back to the swimming pool.
"Shit!" He muttered when he saw she was already drowning. With all his might, he dives into the water to save her.
