The Next Day...
Augustus received a message from his parents telling him that they would soon be arriving at the capital planet. They want to officially meet Phoenix and make him comfortable so that he doesn't consider leaving their cold, heartless, son, who refuses to accept any other gender as his partner.
Augustus told Lucifer about this while they were together in his room, and he agreed. However, Augustus had to make him do something first.
"You cannot go and meet my parents with your hair and eyes like this," he said.
Lucifer was visibly confused. "Why not?" he asked.
Augustus shook his head at the need to explain it."You look entirely different from Phoenix."
"I looked different when your sister came here to visit. What difference would that make now?"
"You haven't seen your reflection, have you?"
Lucifer folds his arm and raises an eyebrow at him. "No, is there a need to?"
Augustus nodded and Lucifer rolled his eyes at him, before using his magic to create a mirror.
He gasps when he sees himself in the mirror. He almost looks the same way he did during his past life. His hair was completely white, his eyes were almost entirely red, only a few light streaks of green were left, and an old scar had begun to form.
"When did this start to happen? Is this why I've been getting weird stares lately?"
Augustus didn't need to answer. He already knew the answer himself.
To be honest, he was pretty happy with the rate at which his appearance was changing. It means that he is returning to his original state and his power is increasing very rapidly, which surprised him.
To be honest, he thought he might've needed to cause a few mishaps before he could fully restore his power.
Augustus saw that he was calculating something in his hands. 'Cannot forget the other races either,' he thought as he continued to count. His eyes widened in horror when the number of humans went beyond nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine. "How many humans are there exactly?"
"About four billion on this planet and in total about forty-seven billion," Augustus replied.
"What is this billion number you speak of?" Lucifer asked when he heard the word.
Augustus raised an eyebrow. "Don't you know what billion means?"
"If I knew I wouldn't be asking?"
Augustus couldn't help but begin to laugh a bit. "Billion is after million." When he saw that Lucifer still couldn't understand, he broke it down for him. "Million is after a thousand."
Lucifer was perplexed. "Did you humans descend from rabbits?" he asked.
Augustus laughed out loud. "Just alter your appearance a bit, to the one you had before the attack."
Lucifer nodded and did exactly that. His appearance was back to the way it was previously. "How do I explain my constant appearance change to everyone who has seen me then?"
"Just say it's a side effect of your using your ability too much that suddenly appeared during the disasters you created when you escaped from your prison," Augustus suggested.
"That isn't very believable," Lucifer said, folding his arms.
'How can they believe that so easily?'
Lucifer and Augustus were in the palace gardens with Philip, Isabella, and Alice. Augustus had explained his 'condition' to them when they asked and they believed him immediately. Shouldn't they be asking questions? Especially, the Emperor, who has been to his castle and seen his picture. 'No wait the picture was me with my mask on.'
"Why didn't you tell me this when I came over to visit?" Alice whined a bit.
Augustus didn't spare her much of a glance. "You didn't ask."
Isabella smiles gently at Phoenix. "We apologize for making you Augustus' fiance without your content. We didn't know about you and your family's situation before we decided to make you his fiance."
Phoenix shook his head and smiled in a friendly manner. "It's fine," he said, his voice was soft.
Augustus glanced at him slightly. Right, Lucifer is in Phoenix's body and has to pretend to be Phoenix when he needs to.
"His Highness and I get along quite well," Phoenix said.
"Really?" Everyone said in surprise, including Alice.
"Wait, why am I surprised," she said. "I knew this."
Isabella turned to her daughter and grabbed her hands. "You are telling me, they do get along?"
Alice rolls her eyes at her mother's overreaction while Augustus silently hides his face, probably from embarrassment.
"Thank goodness," Philip said holding his chest in relief. "Augustus isn't the nicest person to get along with at times," he said.
'How is he not nice?' Lucifer thought. He thought of Augustus' personality. He is quite cold, so it might be hard for people to get along with him, however, he thinks he's quite nice and trustworthy.
"I think he's quite nice," he said, innocently.
Everyone gasped dramatically, this made Lucifer feel a bit helpless and out of place. "Did I say something wrong?"
"Stop being overdramatic," Augustus said in annoyance.
Philip cleared his throat and everyone composed themselves. "Sorry about our behavior."
Tea came in and Lucifer could smell a floral smell wafting in the air. "That smells so good," he said.
Behind the tea were several pastries and cakes came in. This made Lucifer's brain go blank. He cannot physically feel hungry, but he is most definitely weak against good food.
Isabella saw his excitement for the food. "Which one would you like?" she asked.
Lucifer picked the brightest-looking cake. It had candied strawberries and lemons on the top and it just smelled sweet in general.
He shouldn't be eating this, he would probably go unconscious from eating this much sugar. It isn't that eating this entire piece of cake wouldn't be that bad.
