Rosemarie was quite uncomfortable around Phoenix. Ever since that mall incident, she's been afraid of this person.
When the Empire's soldiers came to question them, the stories each of them had told were different. They all knew someone had saved them, but when it came time to identify who had done it, the answers varied. It was as if their memories were erased and replaced by a new one. She, as well, didn't remember, but then she remembered that when they were attacked by the terrorists, she had connected her holopad to every piece of technology using her ability.
She had seen what had happened, Phoenix getting a large hole in his chest. He was supposed to have died from that, but he didn't seem to be bothered about this before healing himself and mercilessly killing whoever did it.
It scared her that this person was her brother's friend and a noble person. He might be a good person, but at the same time, he might not be. It is very confusing.
Seeing that she might not be able to avoid him, she has decided to observe him and learn if he's good or not. She can not afford for her brother to be endangered by this person.
Lucifer was a bit bored during the first class. It was about the structure of a basic plasma gun, something he already knows about since he can create it. However, he has to concentrate if he wants to learn how to create a weapon.
The class finally began getting interesting to him when they began talking about how the plasma gun worked.
Unfortunately, the period was over and the next teacher came in.
This teacher was a strict and wrinkle-looking man with brown hair streaks grey hair and black eyes.
"Good morning students," the man said. "My name is Mr. Sterling, and I'll be your teacher on Basic Information on the History of Weapons. The First Weapon we would be talking about would be nuclear weapons."
'Nuclear weapons?' Lucifer thought in confusion searching his memories for information about this. He sees the information he was looking for but it is barely mentioned in his memory. Just in a subject called 'Physics.'
"Make sure you take notes on this for you will be tested on this topic two weeks from now," Mr. Sterling said.
Most of the students groaned out of despair and Lucifer absorbed this negativity with pleasure.
'A test? It doesn't sound that bad,' he thought. 'It's normal for a master to test their students, after all.'
"Yes, now nuclear weapons were created on the mother planet, nearly two thousand years ago, during the early twentieth century, it was created by Robert Oppenheimer."
Lucifer listened attentively. "Nuclear weapons are one of the most dangerous weapons the human race has ever created. Over fifteen thousand were created and they were all owned by nine countries."
As Mr. Sterling continued to teach, Lucifer was surprised by the amount of destruction a nuclear weapon could do.
The nuclear bombs were used twice. One was during what was called the Second World War, two of these destructive weapons were dropped on the human cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, claiming the lives of between one hundred and two hundred and twenty-six thousand people.
The second time it was used was during the Nuclear War, the bombs were aimed at many of the major cities around the world, and this wiped out around a third of the human population which was about to reach ten billion.
This was one of the reasons why the humans had to leave the planet, to allow the planet to heal from the amount of damage they had done to it.
Before the class ended, they were given the assignment to animate the history of nuclear weapons, the parts, and how the destructive weapon worked. It was to be submitted in a week before the next class through his mail.
Lucifer was very confused. He only taught them the history, he never taught them anything about the parts or how they worked.
In his memories, a lot of teachers also do this. 'Is this some kind of test for them to determine that we are worthy of the knowledge they want to teach us?' he thought before becoming determined.
'I am going to prove myself worthy of this information!' Lucifer thought punching the air with determination.
'What's with him,' Rosemarie thought when Lucifer began punching the air.
The next teacher came in and the next period had already started.
By the time it was time for lunch, Lucifer was mentally exhausted. According to the school's schedule, it all ends at five. There are four hours left.
Today is the first day of school and he already has three assignments and two upcoming tests in two weeks.
He only has about forty-five minutes for a break, so he has to make the best of it.
Rosemarie led him to the cafeteria, which was huge. There were several food stalls, serving various cuisines of food.
Rosemarie tugged on his shirt. "The others are over here," she said leading him over to an attractive-looking food stall.
There, Hiro, Roger, and Philip were already seated and they looked very exhausted. "I miss the holidays," Roger said in a sad voice.
'Their auras look drained,' Lucifer thought. "Was class not good?" he asked.
"Not at all!" Hiro, Roger, and Philip said at the same time.
Lucifer was startled by their outburst and laughed a bit. "It's only the first day and they've already started giving us assignments," Hiro said his voice shaking severely.
"Philip and I were asked were given assignments to write an essay on the worst pandemics in human history, to be submitted before the next class, which is in two days, and we were also asked to create a holographic 3-D piece of every part of the human body," Roger complained.
"I was asked to create a 3-D military space station. Both the inside and out," Hiro said.
"We have to create an animated video on everything about nuclear weapons, calculus, and to create a 3-D printed bomb of choice," Rosemarie said in a dull voice. "We also have two tests coming up in two weeks," she said.
Then everyone sighed. "And this is only half of the first day," Philip said.
Lucifer smiled feeling their negativity affecting him. "Let's just savor our short break before it ends," he said.
Roger sighed, slumping on his seat while pouting. "Okay," he said.
