Hannah’s POV
We have to fight our way into the library, but Luke makes it look so easy. He’s far stronger than I first thought, and he kills only when he has to, but unfortunately, the few wolves we have come across haven’t been from our pack, at least not yet.
Once the coast is clear, we race upstairs and burst through the door. A small wolf starts for us, but I know who he is and raise my hands to stop his attack. Thankfully, he notices me and returns to his human form.
“Hannah, you must come,” the old wolf says, leading the way.
“Where is my father?” I ask, not seeing him among the other wolves. She doesn’t answer but instead steps aside.
The bodies surrounding my father move back, and the blood oozing from the bite in his shoulder and neck is impossible to miss. I don’t recognize the sound that rips from my throat, but it breaks even my own heart.
