Hannah’s POV
They say you never stop learning as you go through life, and today, I learned it is possible to walk while mentally sleeping.
My body hates me, my head is screaming to stop thinking, and my stomach is yelling for food that I have no idea where I’m going to get it from. My mouth is dry, and I can taste the blood of that snake, and when I think that a part of me might one day want this taste, my stomach curls.
After our battle, all of us beaten and bruised, we searched desperately for shelter. I know firsthand just how crazy the weather can be in this forest. It may be part of our land, but clearly, there are more things going on behind the scenes in this place.
Things like why our parents decided to be kind, my mother, and Luke’s necklace seem less confusing the longer we’re in here. At times, I swear I pass the same tree, making me think we’re going in circles.
