Grant’s POV
My life is draining on the floor, and yet my pride keeps me alive long enough for Damon to enter the room.
He looks the same, ageless as is the norm for vampires. His cocky smile stirs what’s left of my blood in my veins, but it helps me to stay focused and away from the end that I know is coming.
I have a lot of regrets in my life, but at least I got to let Hannah know the truth about who she is. I had wanted to sit down with her after she had settled down from her wedding, not wanting to give her too much change at once. She’s tough when she wants to be, but she holds a lot in, and too much will eventually break free.
I can only hope Luke has discovered this about her and won’t let her keep to herself. She may not have seen it before, but I know I’ve made the right choice as a leader and as her husband. Luke is unlike the rest of us, and soon she’ll understand why.
They both will.
Stepping further into the room, Damon looks completely at ease.
