Damon’s POV
This b*stard thought he was on to something. He thought I was a fool to fall for his story. Of course, at this point, I might say anything to avoid answering that question as I’ve yet to learn the answer myself. I wouldn’t call it love, but I can’t deny that there is something different about Hannah, as my reaction to her has never happened before.
I also couldn’t let her die because of a lie. When Grant told me what he had done, I nearly broke our deal, but sadly, my revenge on Grant outweighs whatever I feel for his daughter.
“You’re right. I’m not interested in your story,” I say, looking at him closely, making sure I don’t miss his reaction. “Because most of it was a lie,” I finished. Even in death, his lips twitch. I inhale sharply and add space between us, his death and wolf scent turning my stomach, and blood is usually my thing.
