Inside of a pitch black void, a man with gray and black hair could be seen sitting on a chair, and across from him was a ball of white light.
"So I finally died huh?" the man asked himself calmly, without any fear of his own death.
[You are a lot calmer than I expected. Even without suppressing your emotions, I can tell that you would remain calm.] the ball of light said, seemingly curious as to why he was so calm.
"I accepted my own mortality long ago, it was simply my time to go. Though I am curious as to why I'm here." the man said.
[You are here due to your accomplishments in life such as your extensive research on genetic engineering and developing it to the extent that all cellular diseases could be cured, you have accumulated enough karma for 3 wishes. You may request any wish that comes to mind.] the ball light spoke.
"I see." the man said as he fell into contemplation. While most would wish for the first desire that came to mind, he felt there was no need for him to continue living. Honestly, he was tired. From his attempts to do his research causing him to face assassination attempts and threats on his life, to having to move countries due to his government attempting to take his research and sell it to the highest bidder. The amount of evil he had seen in the world had practically made him numb to most people in the world.
However, just as he was about to use his first wish, an old memory flashed in his mind. He remembered a girl with black hair pushing him out of the way of an incoming bus, and although he was later told that it wouldn't have hit him either way, he felt grateful that she would sacrifice her life for his.
He looked up at the ball of light and asked "Can you give the girl that pushed me out of the way of that bus my 3 wishes and send me to wherever those who die go?"
The light flashes for a second before it says [She will receive 3 perks for whatever universe I decide to reincarnate her into. That is the limit available to her with her amount of karma. And yes, I can send yo-] the light cut itself off as it flashed again before repeatedly flashing.
[****] the light cursed.
Hayato looked stunned as he didn't expect the light which he had presumed was a God would curse out of the blue.
The light flashed a final time and then turned towards Hayato and spoke [I have a deal for you.]
Hayato skeptically looked at the void as he asked "What kind of deal, I thought I was going to Heaven or Hell?"
[A timeline under my supervision has fallen off the course of its history due to the actions of alien invaders. It would not be a major deal, but they have used the Dragon Veins of their world to interfere with other timelines and now it could throw that entire multiversal nexus into disarray. To prevent this, I'm going to send you to that world with a power that is made to help keep continuous balance. Although you can decline the offer if you choose, and I will simply send you to Heaven.] the light spoke.
Hayato quickly asked "Why can't you simply stop them yourself? You seem extremely powerful if you can reincarnate people and give them power, so simply wiping out a few timelines shouldn't be that hard."
[All Omniversal beings are bound by the covenant we all signed to prevent us from interfering too often in the lives of mortals. This makes us unable to destroy our own creations directly, only able to create things that will destroy them for us. It is completely your decision if you wish to take the job.] the light said.
Hayato stood in thought for a few minutes, before sighing as he mumbled "I just had to try to do the right thing."
He looked at the light and said "I agree, although I need to know what world I'll be being sent into and what I need to do to prevent that timeline from falling off of its course. "
The light nodded as it spoke [The world you are being sent into may be known to you as the Shinobi World. The world was thrown off of its original timeline by the Otsutsuki Clan which embarked into the Shinobi World after around 15 years after the Fourth Great Shinobi World War. After Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha lost their sources of power and became weaker, another duo from the Otsutsuki Clan embarked on the Shinobi World in the hope of finishing it. The only difference was that the alliance that the world built with the existence of Naruto Uzumaki practically ceased to exist after it was alleged that he was killed. They were able to destroy the resistance that the Shinobi's possessed and due to these being extremely High Ranking Members of the Main Clan, they were able to defeat the powerhouses of the Shinobi World, with only those that left the Dimension all altogether able to escape.
But, the Otsutsuki Clan chose to study the planet rather than merely conquer it due to them seeing how far the Shinobi had come in their study of Chakra, with them eventually discovering the Ley Lines of the world, otherwise known as the Dragon Veins. They then began a gradual process of sending their members to meet with their counterparts in other timelines, consolidating their power, and conquering more and more timelines until the balance of their Multiverse may collapse.
Here is the task that I am entrusting to you: Protect the Shinobi World from outside threats during your lifetime. The power I give you will be slightly adjusted to work wil the rules of that world, yet you will also have no limit as to the strength you can achieve with your power. I'll be sending you to a dangerous and turbulent era, and to allow you to grow, I placed you in a very remote part of your World. You may solve your mission however you see fit.] The light spoke.
"****" Hayato cursed this time, as he heard the mission he was assigned. He knew that although the Otsutsuki could be seen as a joke, with the exception of a few, when looking at them from a television screen, in real life they were utterly terrifying.
Having the power to manipulate Dimensions, move a faster than light speeds, and affect the entirety of the world with some type of Shinjutsu made them absolutely horrifying opponents to have.
"At least tell me what kind of power you're giving me that'll help me keep balance." Hayato said.
[You will become the guardian of your world, and the person who shall aid in balance being brought into your world.] The light answered.
Hayato immediately guessed what his power would be, yet he didn't respond immediately as he asked another question.
"Will I have the affinity to use all forms of the elements? Will I possess the Spirit of Order? How will I learn the forms to use it? Can you strengthen my talent, body, and energy pool?" Hayato asked in quick succession, with the ball of light deadpanning at the boy.
'If I've got to fight Alien God's, I want every advantage I can get. And that's not to mention the threats that exist already on the planet like Madara, Orochimaru, Kara, and the Akatsuki.' Hayato thought grimly.
[The answer is yes to all those questions, and I can guarantee you that you'll have the potential to reach the level of those I wish for you to battle. You will also have another bonus that will make you fully the representative of Balance. Very few can survive an entity like you when they grow to their greatest potential.]
A portal opened behind Hayato and began to pull him in. He was confused at what was going on, but the light spoke again.
[Your soul is being sent into the Shinobi World. I know that your mission is a dangerous one, which is why I will be giving you a title, one that has never been given to anyone else in the Naruto Multiverse.]
The portal consumed all of Hayato, with him falling into what seemed to be another blank void, however he heard the final words of the ball of light before he lost consciousness while he felt a unique change happen to what he could only assume was his Soul.
