Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Flight

The training of Hayato commenced, with Hayato exceeding all of Yangchen's expectations and becoming a phenomenal Air Bending Master.

~Three Years Later~

Inside of the training grounds, an eleven-year old Hayato and Aang were akin to walking disasters, with the two trading attacks of overwhelming power towards each other, with them each cracking the ground with immense force behind each blast of wind.

Beneath Hayato's black hair and underneath his clothing were blue tattoo marks, with them being a principal sign of his status as an Airbending Master.

Hayato charged at Aang again, with him vibrating the wind around his hand to make it sharp to an extreme point.

Aang threw multiple blasts of wind toward Hayato, yet he easily cut through them all like butter; with Aang realized he would need to step up his defense if he wanted to guard against Hayato's signature move.

Aang quickly bended a massive wall to appear, with Hayato stepping on it and climbing up it, with him then jumping in the air before stomping a massive blast of Wind towards Aang.

Aang created a massive dome made from air to guard himself, but, it was at that moment that both felt themselves lose control of the air around them.

"I believe that is enough of a spar today. Any further and you two may destroy the entire training grounds." Yangchen said as she landed between two while looking at them with a smile.

"I still don't understand how you do that. I mean, both Aang and I are Airbending Masters, and you can just take control of our attacks like it's nothing." Hayato grumbled at his teacher.

"Once you further study the other elements, the aspects of them will become easier to control. For example, If Aang were a Master in all of his elements in the same way that he is in Airbending, he would easily be in the top three of most powerful Avatars." Yangchen spoke with a smile.

"HEY!!" Aang yelled from behind the wall.

"Now, are you ready for your final Airbending lesson, Hayato?" Yangchen asked.

Hayato simply nodded, as he had been preparing himself for this step since he became a Master nearly a year prior, with it being one of the few Sub-bending that came with being an Airbender: Flight.

Very few Avatars had been able to achieve it due to the view that you had to release your Earthly tethers, but Hayato had an idea on how to achieve it without being forced to the same constraints that people like Zaheer had been.

He and Yangchen arrived at a secluded area, with Hayato closing his eyes as he began to feel for the world around him, with him using that air that surrounded them as a type of sense to detect his surroundings.

"Focus on nothing but yourself. Only you can achieve what you wish to accomplish. And I believe that you can succeed where even I failed, Hayato." Yangchen spoke as she smiled fondly at him.

He calmed his spirit to the point that it became still, with him feeling a conceptual aspect of the world as he focused on what he could only think were his emotions.

However, the emotions that Hayato focused on were the emotions and connections that he had in his past life, not the ones that he had built and maintained in his one.

'I will not let a life that has ended bind me any further. I release any and all feelings that I may have on that world, because I will surpass it in this one, no matter what I have to do to achieve it.' Hayato thought to himself.

He looked back on every achievement he made in his past life.

Every trial he overcame. Every obstacle he passed. Every challenge that attempted to stop him was only for him to showcase an extreme level of talent and break all expectations.

He released them all.

All his fear, his regret, his anger, his pride, and he let all of it go at once.

Hayato's body in the outside world began to float into the air, with his tattoos slightly glowing as he floated higher and higher before he opened his eyes, with him flying through the air as if it was his second nature.

He then flew directly before his teacher, with Yangchen smiling at him before giving him a hug.

"Congratulations, Avatar Hayato. You have become the first Avatar to be blessed enough to achieve the Airbending Sub Skill of Flight. I am truly proud of you." Yangchen said with a smile.

At that moment, Aang was walking over, with Hayato flying above him with a cheeky grin.

"Hey Aang, can you fly?" Hayato gloated from the air.

Aang merely frowned from the ground before he made himself go into the air using Firebending from his soles.

"Yep." Aang said, Hayato rolled his eyes as he landed on the ground while Aang laughed.

"I believe that a celebratory dinner would be nice. It would be very beneficial to everyone to wind down after the day we've had." Yangchen said as she walked up.

"How do spirits even get hungry?" Hayato asked for the hundredth time, as he was still unable to understand why they were even able to be hungry.

Yangchen merely hit him in the head with a stone as they headed inside, with the three seeming more like a small family than an ancient woman, a reincarnated boy, and a boy that was frozen in time for a century.
