Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 (The great plains)

Rex

When morning came and the sun bathed the world in light was when I went out to begin my own exploration in the plains. Felix has moved his mana training spot where he'd be able to view me if he needed to rush in to help. I have also used this time to look for the flowers Felix talked about so we could stack up on some potions. I've also learned that with our minimaps we are able to make checkpoints so we won't get lost. I set up one at the top of our cave so I could find my way back to base. My trek into the plains was honestly pleasant. Back on earth I grew up near a ton of plains and walking through them is reminding me of home. I'll make a mental note to take a few strolls through these plains in the future.

As I was walking about I came to realize there are a lot more bushes and the grass is a lot taller than I first thought, so I should probably watch for snakes. Something Felix and I have realized is we have grown quite a bit taller since coming here. I've gone from five eleven to six two while Felix has gone from five eight to six feet tall, crazy enough the grass reaches past my knees. While continuing my walk groups of boars started coming out from some of the bushes.

Brown, red, and even blue boars were walking about, still in groups and it seems the leaders are either red or blue while the brown I can only assume are the followers. There's a small group of just three, one blue boar with two brown boars. They're a bit farther away from the other groups and I don't think they'll receive help. As I walk towards them I activate my mana enhancement so I would be fast enough to do a hit and run tactic, the extra strength helps with damage dealing of course.

Just as I feel used to the sudden strength and speed boost I rush the blue boar only to come to a very serious surprise. The blue one has an element around it when it feels threatened… frost…yay.

I still slash through the side of the it's body, staggering it, but I had to immediately jump away to dodge the charge of a brown boar. I can't beat them in strength quite yet but speed wise I have the advantage. I sprint towards the second brown boar, it seemed new to being attacked because it was panicking instead of moving towards its allies. I was proved right when I was able to slash its head clean off its body without much of a fight. The other two boars let out their own version of an angry shout, both charging towards me with the blue one leading the way, the brown one stayed a bit back to try and catch me when I jumped out of the way

. I surprised them when I jumped over the blue one so I could do a downward slice with my axe onto the brown one's head, splitting the brown boar's head in half. Before landing I used my axe that was stuck in the remains of the boar's head to push over and land behind the boars now dead body. Big blue instantly turned to rush me, now I admit my next actions are probably stupid, but I want to test a theory, if I can activate both rage and mana enhancement at the same time.

The answer is yes, and the results are terrifying, with both skills activated I had a strength point total of forty-five. I was now able to stop the last boar in its steps and with some difficulty twist its head in a complete three-sixty. Instantly killing it. As my skills deactivate and the adrenaline slows down, I've realized it's becoming really easy killing and fighting. It's kinda addicting in all honesty. I store the corpses into my inventory, I continue to look at the surroundings to make sure nothing else is rushing towards me. My mana is now sitting a mere twenty dangerously close to empty. *growl* … * sigh* Why am I not even surprised, as I stare at the group of six wolves slowly circling me. They stand at I'd say five feet tall, two gray, one black, and three brown. Great.
