Chapter 19 - Chapter 17(Further exploration and planning)

Rex

I woke up to sunlight blinding me, guess that means nothing tried to attack us through the night. Felix reported nothing in our current surroundings. With that info we packed up our camp, felix removed his landmine runes and we began to travel further into the plains. There were trees spread around the further we walked, the grass seems to stay at a constant knee height range. Boar groups are constantly moving around. We've seen the occasional feud like fights between groups. The leader of these groups seems to be split between the blue and red boars, kinda wondering if there's a purple boar hiding around. My own jokes aside, these plains aren't that scary, at least from what we've encountered before. Boars could still very well be a disastrous problem if we get overwhelmed by them. Luckily they don't seem to really pursue fights with us, if we get too close though, that quickly changes. Wolves tend to ignore us for the most part, they prefer hunting the boars. Though I got a bit of a theory of sorts, nothing really confirms it, but I believe these creatures have their own variation of levels, some red boars are obviously larger than their own, along with being faster they seem to be just a higher level. Nothing really confirms this like I said, they all seem to give the same amount of experience even if you kill a larger one. Though killing the larger ones has an obvious better gain, bigger means more food.

We've come across a new creature, a large snake. Luckily it doesn't seem to be anything crazy, just a larger snake, the one we saw captured a red boar and has swallowed it whole. It's about fifteen feet long, and about two feet wide in diameter. Definitely something scary but again not as bad as the spider from earlier… I probably shouldn't compare creatures to that monster. Anyway in the area we've found the snake there are large holes spread about in the surrounding area, which after not much thought we've realized those are the snake burrows. Kinda makes me wonder what other creatures are down there or well how many snakes are down there.

Since catching sight of the snake we've been moving through the grass with heavy caution just in case one is stalking us. So far we haven't seen another snake so we aren't really sure about our safety, so we've been moving quicker to get out of their territory. Which was the right choice since right as we got out of that area, it's about the size of a football field. Some of the grass about thirty feet behind us moved back towards the holes…that's concerning. Hills are quite common through the plains, some being about a hundred feet high. Easy locations to defend if the need arises. As we move through the plains I check the minimap to see how far we've gone from our base, about thirty miles out, a decent distance since we've been traveling for about ten hours on foot.

These plains are really calm, we've found multiple flowers that can be used for alchemy. I haven't seen Felix this excited since getting here, it seems he's a little bit of a mad scientist.

I've also been gathering wood that's been spread around, I've been getting a new description on some of the wood, giving info about how durable of a crafting material it is. Felix was a little annoyed with how my system gave me more info than his, it seems all it lets him know is whether the flower is compatible with alchemy or not. Gonna be honest, knowing my system and if his is anything like mine, then it's likely the system is messing with him."possibly, who knows" right on schedule with their two cents from my system.

Night is approaching here soon and we're currently moving towards the top of a hill to set up camp again. This hill is probably a hundred and twenty feet high, a good distance up from the rest of the hills surrounding us. As we get on top of the hill we are greeted with a view of a goblin camp, easily able to see over their walls. Probably thirty goblins in there, there's huts, so who knows how many are really in there. Felix and I agree to not set up a fire for tonight and rather than doing a full on sleep we'll take a power nap then plan an attack on the camp before day breaks.
