Chapter 13 - A Unique Legacy

"Water affinity, SSS grade! Wind affinity, SS grade! Earth affinity, S grade!" the voice boomed in succession as silence settled over the entire auditorium.

All eyes were focusing on Noah who was casually standing on the stage while glancing at his nails. He didn't seem to care about their stares and was instead busy cleaning his nails.

'Oh, this is new.' Noah observed as a screen appeared in front of him.

[ Reveal which of the following elements: Lightning, Ice, Darkness, Light ]

Noah now had the option to choose which element he wanted to reveal to the public. He looked at all four of them for a split second before making his decision.

"Lightning affinity, SSS grade! Darkness affinity, SS grade!" The voice finally quietened down as Noah could hear the principal inhaling sharply.

'She looks calm,' His attention however was placed on his mother. 'Does she have similar affinities in this life? No wait, I never knew what her affinity grades were in my previous life too.'

Noah couldn't help but wonder whether his mother also hid high-level stats with her and whether she too had the spirit magician job class.

Such questions would have to wait for later on as it was time for Noah to get his legacy.

"Unique legacy given. Name, Shackled To Time." The voice spoke at last before going silent.

Noah on the other hand frowned slightly after hearing the name of his new legacy. It didn't sound so good by its name but the real usage of the legacy could only be told after reading its description.

"Noah, who are your parents?" the principal of the Zikarth academy suddenly appeared beside Noah, breaking everyone out of their daze.

The other principals realized what he was about to drop and lunged forward to prevent it from happening. Fortunately for them, someone else had already done that.

"He is my child, Zuki." Erika's voice, sounding much colder than usual, became audible as she appeared behind Nora.

She placed a hand on her son's shoulder and gave the man named Zuki a cold stare. If looks could kill, she would be the Levi in their kingdom or so Noah thought.

"Erika Kairo… Should have guessed that he was your son." Zuki's expression suddenly turned to one of displeasure.

Noah also noticed traces of fear appearing in his eyes as he stepped back from the stage and went to stay with his group.

"Noah, come with me," Erika whispered as she started taking her son back with her.

Noah quickly turned around and communicated with Izzy using glances, asking her to come with them.

Izzy quickly understood why he was doing that as she knew that the principals would also try to get her with them.

Though Noah was a much bigger prodigy than her, she still had the advantage of having an ice element.

That was also one reason Noah had hidden his ice powers. Not only did that give him a hidden trump card but also allowed Izzy to still seem like a prodigy.

"Uh let's continue ahead." Noah's current principal coughed as he looked at Noah and Izzy walking away one last time.

No one seemed to be paying attention to the ceremony anymore as all eyes were fixed on Noah and Isabella.

Even when Sukhma's second bully friend was terminated, no one seemed shaken by it. The adults had already seen deaths before and the rest of the students were in a daze after finding out about Noah's true powers.

The only ones feeling other emotions were the parents of the two deceased bullies as well as Sukhma.

The latter felt so scared that he debated whether to touch the crystal ball or not. His eyes then moved over to Noah and stayed there until his name was called.

"Sukhma Dickinson!"

Sukhma didn't move from his place at first but after the principal called his name a few more times, he suddenly took off.

He dashed down from the stage before making his way toward Noah. After appearing in front of him, Sukhma immediately bent down on his knees and touched Noah's feet.

"I am sorry for all I did! I don't want to die there so please forgive me!" He wailed loudly like a baby whose toy had been stolen.

Noah watched the pathetic creature at his feet with an emotionless face before he bent down on his knees. Whilst placing a hand on Sukhma's shoulder, he offered the bully leader a kind smile.

"I don't hold grudges. I forgive you so go get that legacy." Noah instructed kindly as though he was a saint.

Sukhma tried to judge whether Noah was lying or not yet the smile on his face was real. It looked as though unlocking his powers had made Noah forget about the future.

"I, uh, I… THANK YOU!" Sukhma shouted at the top of his lungs before dashing back towards the stage, his cheeks reddening due to the embarrassing situation he had been in.

'Noah might actually be a good guy. He appreciated my taste earlier so I guess I did him wrong on so levels. I will properly apologize to him later on and try to become his friend, not just to obtain benefits.'

Sukhma had a feeling that his personality wouldn't change so soon. Though the bully knew that he had to start somewhere and perhaps Noah could help him a bit.

With that thought in mind, Sukhma placed his hand on the crystal ball and hoped for a good legacy.

"Earth affinity, S grade. Fire affinity, S grade!" The voice as Sukhma crossed his fingers, hoping that he would get an above-average legacy.

"Misuse of power detected! Termination start!" In an instant, the look of hopefulness slipped off his face.

Sukhma's eyes immediately turned toward Noah who stared back at him with an expressionless face.

"You did to yourself." Noah mouthed before Sukhma's head was cut off clean. His body soon vanished and the ceremony continued on without any further interruptions.

Noah on the other hand realized that he didn't really need to make any changes in Sukhma's Soul book.

He had deactivated the changes he had made a second before Sukhma had placed his hand on the crystal ball, just to see what the world would do with him.

The bully leader had been terminated in the end due to his actions and the things he did to others, making Noah have zero fault in his death.

< First quest completed! >

'Oh?' Noah looked slightly surprised when he saw the quest completion notification pop up in front of him.

Yet his surprise only increased by what followed the notification.

[ Error! Reward can't be handed due to the Infirma. ]

Having read the details on the window, Noah sighed and summoned his soul book right in the middle of the auditorium.

He could've checked the details of his legacy and Infirma without needing to do so, however, Noah needed to check his stats as well.

Noah blinked in confusion as he found the rest of the page to be empty. Nothing had been written past the job class…

Noah immediately desummoned his Soul book and opened the details of his legacy, not knowing that another surprise was waiting for him there.

[ Legacy: None ]
