"Teleportation, as well as mana extraction, is something I got alongside the legacy I had," Noah replied once again, his lips curling up to form a smile.
[ The skill 'Lie Detection' has confirmed the statement to be true. ]
"How did you get to know about the parents moving with the kids to the academy thing then?" Erika asked while raising an eyebrow even though she had an idea what he would reply with.
Noah had a habit of being on his phone for quite long hours to do some research on things, thus becoming the most obvious answer.
"I did some research," Noah replied with the expected as the skill once again confirmed his statement to be true.
The worries and nervous feelings Erika had been feeling were reduced to quite some extent.
Though she was still a bit hesitant to expect the sudden change in her son's personality, Erika knew that she would get used to it later on.
She had gone through something similar, after all.
'That was a narrow save…' Noah on the other hand felt relieved that Erika was done with her questions.
He felt a bit guilty about not telling her the truth yet Noah wasn't ready to tell Erika about his reincarnation.
That was why he had to compromise his answers by only telling the parts which were true.
'I guess it's considered research that I asked Averi more about her academy.' Noah noted.
The mother-pair made took thirty minutes to reach their house, the sun had set down to an extreme extent, only a few of its rays making it to the ground.
However while making their way towards the door, Noah noticed a group of… shady humans standing at their door.
They were dressed in normal winter clothes yet the look in their eyes and the way they were looking around gave them a weird edge.
"I wonder who sent them here," Erika mused, knowing that the men were sent there for a reason. "Noah, if you know any fighting skills already, it's the right time for you to use them."
"All right, mom," Noah replied while cracking his fingers a bit in preparation.
Erika didn't know that Noah didn't require any sort of skill to use magic. This was the difference between normal magic and spirit magic.
A fire mage with SSS affinity could at most conjure up three fire tornadoes, each a few meters tall, without the help of using a skill.
A fire mage with the same affinity, one with spirit magic, could basically do anything that a normal one would require skills to do.
In simpler terms, Noah didn't need any sorts of skills to do anything.
"Gentlemen, may I ask what you are doing here?" Erika inquired in a charming voice as she walked towards the group of men sprawling around the door of her house.
She maintained a calm look on her face yet Noah knew that Erika could whip into action faster than one could recite the 'a' in alphabet.
"We are here to inquire a bit about Noah Kairo. Do you know him by any chance?" one of the men asked in a raspy tone, his eyes darting straight towards Noah.
"Hmm, you can say that I know him quite well," Erika mused. "I am his mother after all."
The man opened his mouth to speak something, perhaps to give an order, but Erika had already made her move.
A needle made from ice was hovering directly in front of the man's throat, the tip of the needle scratching the surface of his throat.
"Noah, this might be the right time to use one of your skills," Erika added, making Noah smile.
"I already did what I wanted to do." He replied while pointing at the other men standing around the door.
None of them were moving yet their eyes were still shifting from Noah to Erika.
"Damn." Erika suddenly started chuckling as she realized what Noah had done. "That's a good move."
"I know." Noah smiled, his fingers slightly twitching from time to time.
Black-colored tendrils could see be seen around the bodies of the men, traveling from the tips of their fingers and toes to their shoulders and upper knees respectively.
Two black lines were also visible around the edges of their lips, preventing them from speaking anything.
"You did that the moment we saw them?" Erika inquired flicking her index forward.
A miniature version of a lightning bolt shot out from her finger. It directly hit the forehead of the man Erika had talked to earlier, knocking the man out in a split second.
Noah replicated her actions yet instead of using lightning, the tendril present around the other men suddenly solidified around their necks.
None of them could even groan in pain as Noah tightened the tendril just enough to knock them out.
"That's why I like dark element," he commented. "It can be used quite easily as though it's made for being turned into other objects."
Though Noah could have used any other element to create the tendrils yet they wouldn't have had the same attack as the dark element tendrils.
"I guess you used the sucking property of the dark element to render them useless." Erika guessed as the two of them hurriedly picked the bodies and took them inside.
Their luck was quite good in that case as no one saw them pick up the unconscious bodies or that would've rose many questions.
Noah and Erika dragged the bodies to the living room before putting them down and exchanging a glance.
"Do we kill them?" Noah inquired.
"No," Erika shook her head. "We will extract their cores and sell them in the black market. Getting some money out of such people will be beneficial especially if the organs could be salvaged for use by someone else."
Noah chuckled while replying, "I didn't think I would see such a side of you."
"People always have something that they hide from others." Erika reminded before looking at Noah with interest.
"Also, did you use spirit magic back then?"
