On paper, Oathbreaker sounded like a very good sword, one used by a hero or villain in children's story books.
Noah had no remorse in telling those storybook writers that Oathbreaker was actually one of the stupidest weapons anyone could've created in history.
The sword's special ability was that once someone held it in their hand, the person was permanently tied to the sword for the rest of their life and couldn't use any other weapon from that specific hand.
Perhaps it was wrong to call it a special ability as it was more of a curse.
The only way to remove this curse was to break the sword's blade, something which could be done by anyone, except the owner, making the curse extremely childish.
'Hey, can I like do a re-spin by adding something?' Noah inquired, flashing back to the memories of some mobile games he had seen.
Maybe he could do something similar here too?
[ The compensation has been paid. Such mistakes will not be made in the future. ] The voice spoke, making Noah sigh.
The sword appeared in front of him the next second yet Noah didn't even spare it a glance.
'Maybe it would be useful in the future.' He stared at it for a split second before raising his hand right over the blade.
Black mana shot out from his hand and wrapped around the hilt of the sword, making it pure black. Noah grabbed the hilt of the sword carelessly and lifted the ten-inch sword off the bed.
As long as his fingers weren't in direct contact with the sword, the curse wouldn't trigger and he could use the sword normally.
Though it didn't have any specific properties, the blade of the sword was quite strong. It had the power to cut through concrete and beast hide easily yet it failed in front of swords with special abilities.
'The only question is where can I put this thing?' Noah wondered while flexing the blade around a bit.
Though he had a valid reason for the blade's appearance, it wasn't that optimal to have a sword hanging around your waist the entire day.
Noah's mother had a space ring, also called a storage ring, for that very reason.

Noah blinked in surprise at the sudden quest he had triggered just by thinking of storing the sword. Was it his Infirma balancing things out for handing him a crappy weapon?
'I still have to wait till tomorrow.' Noah sighed as he tossed the sword onto a nearby couch before looking at the mana cores lying around him.
He currently had three A-grade fire cores, two A-grade wind cores, and a single A-grade Earth core alongside two B-grade Earth cores.
Noah knew that his stats wouldn't be upgraded even if he swallowed all of the cores yet the alternative was what he wanted to see.
"Maybe I can upgrade my affinity to a level never seen by anyone before." He chuckled amusingly before picking up the fire cores and swallowing the mana inside them.
The A-grade fire core in his hand vanished after the dispersal of mana from it as Noah felt the mana circulate inside his body.
He waited for a window to open in front of him to provide him with options to choose from.
Any normal mage would've gotten three basic options. One to upgrade stats, one to upgrade legacy, and the last one to simply consume the mana and store it as a reserve to be used in the future.
Noah, however, was getting doubtful. 'Is a screen even gonna open up?'
He waited for a few more minutes before the screen finally appeared.
[ 1) Get a skill of the person you consumed the mana of.
2) Store the mana for future use.
3) Convert into mana core again. ]
Noah once again wondered whether it was his Infirma secretly working in the back or whether the world was deliberately throwing good things at him just to screw him later on.
Noah pressed the third option after thinking for a few seconds. He felt the foreign mana retract from his body as the mana core once again formed in his hands.
He stared at it for a few seconds before doing the same thing with a few other mana cores. He got the same result every single time.
'I guess unless I get the core of someone with some extremely special skill, there is no point in using them for myself.' Noah thought before putting the mana cores back in their place.
He then laid on the bed to rest himself for the night. The discovery of what he could do with mana cores would've been considered invaluable yet it was useless for someone like him.
'I might be able to fetch a good sum of money by selling these tomorrow.' Noah thought one last time before closing his eyes.
Sleep didn't come easily to him and the next thing he knew was his mother waking him up.
"I'm awake," Noah muttered, his eyes still closed.
"I know." Erika chuckled. "So are you really taking Izzy out?"
Still half asleep, Noah mumbled, "Take what out?"
"A date? Maybe I should talk to you after you've showered." Erika muttered as Noah finally opened his eyes.
He slowly sat up to see his mother standing near the bathroom, a pair of clothes clutched in her hands.
"I will be out in ten to fifteen minutes. Until then, plan your date for today." She suggested before entering the bathroom and shutting the door behind her.
Noah stifled a yawn and rubbed his eyes a bit before standing up. He stretched his body a bit before rummaging inside his back for clothes he would wear for the occasion.
He took a look at them once before remembering Erika's words about planning ahead for the day.
'Who plans for a date?' Noah wondered while laying his clothes on the bed. 'What's the fun in pre-planned stuff?'
Even in his previous life, Noah had never once thought of what he would do on a date. Similarly, he wasn't going to plan anything for his current date too.
After all, he just wanted the entire thing to be a wild experience.
"You can go in now." Erika's voice entered his ears as she stepped out of the bathroom. Her hair had been perfectly dried and she was wearing her work clothes.
A slightly loose black shirt with a sweater on top of it alongside a woolen black skirt with black tights going beyond Noah's average eyesight.
To be able to see how long they were, he would have to activate something similar to X-ray vision, which he wasn't going to do.
He just picked up his clothes and walked up to the bathroom before shutting himself inside and getting ready for the day.
