Chapter 24 - I always wanted to be chased

"If we weren't in the middle of a black market, I would've tried to strangle you until you told me the answers to all the questions I needed to know," Izzy muttered as the two of them made their way towards another ally.

"You can say that I like to collect every piece of information on those who are about to be my enemies," Noah replied while taking the token from the shop out of his pocket.

"Once we get out, the spies are going to open fire. It's upon you to take them out as I would be dizzy due to baring the load of the teleportation." He added while flipping the token in there.

"Wait what?!" Izzy exclaimed as the portal once again appeared below them and sucked them.

They didn't slide this time and instead directly appeared at the alley from earlier.

Noah's felt wobbly on his feet as he started swinging slightly and had to use the wall for support.

Izzy immediately went alert as she waited for an ambush, one that had almost been set up for them.

Attacks launched toward them from all sides, all of them aiming at mildly injuring the duo or knocking them out.

Izzy counted dozens of fire and Earth attacks in a matter of seconds as she spread her hands wide.

Her hair stood up slightly as the temperature around her dropped.

"Glacier Walls." She muttered under her breath as walls made from thick, real thick, ice appeared around the duo, blocking the alley from both sides.

'Let's see if her walls hold up.' Noah thought silently, ready to attack in case Izzy's walls couldn't handle the pressure.

He was just acting to see what Izzy could do in such situations.

After all, his goal was to make sure that she could fight on her own and could be terrifying in such situations.

Noah didn't want Izzy, or anyone close to him, to become too dependent on him. He had already seen how badly that had ended up in his last life so he didn't need anything like that again.

"Glacier bullet," Izzy muttered under her breath again as her erected walls faced the fury o the attacks fully.

She then launched her own attack in the directions the attacks had come from.

Ice bullets twice the size of a normal pistol bullet shot out from the palms of her hands and went all around the alley.

Noah was pleased by this as he could hear the sound of a few spies rummaging around to avoid getting hit by the bullets.

"Izzy, behind and below you!" he shouted as Izzy whirled around to see two figures jumping out of the Earth.

She immediately raised their hands in their direction and released a barrage of icicles at them.

The power of her attacks at such a close range was something that the two figures couldn't defend against.

The attacks passed right through their chest as the two bodies slumped down. Izzy blinked in confusion, her attention shifting for some time.

'It was her first time killing humans.' Noah observed as he stopped acting and moved to stand right beside Izzy.

He wrapped his left hand around her waist and tightly clutched her to his body.

Another wave of attacks hit them yet all of them vanished into thin air the moment they reached Noah.

'I wonder if that exclusive skill I pulled out of the gacha even prove useful for me.' He wondered

Noah rotated his hand a bit as the attacks from earlier suddenly reappeared and moved towards those who had used them.

This happened only because Noah had used a jinx using dark element. It was extremely hard to use yet Noah was proud of himself for coming up with it.

Also, infinite mana allowed him to literally spam the hell out of such things, if they didn't break his body first that is.

"Noah, can we like run back to the house?" Izzy requested, surprising Noah.

"Sure." He replied a second later before removing his hand from her waist and holding her hand with it.

Izzy's hand clasped around his a second later as the two of them dashed out of the alley.

"I always wanted to be chased. It makes the usual dull life feel much better." She muttered while running as the two of them dashed through multiple streets.

The spies on their heels of course knew where they lived and tried to chase after them yet Noah wasn't going to make it that easy for them.

He spread his mana all around him in a one-kilometer radius, keeping track of all those actings suspicious or chasing after them.

He would occasionally flick his wrist as one of them would crash to the ground, usually in a deserted place.

'I wonder how simple it would be to just flame them in the middle of the streets and not even leave their ashes behind.' He mused as the two of them took another turn and appeared directly in front of Izzy's house.

The place was of course deserted. No one wanted to stay close to a place with a prodigy for long as it would only bring unwanted trouble.

Such feelings would only increase if the people knew that Noah was also living in the same place.

"This should be the perfect place to end everything." He muttered before stopping near the gate of the house.

Both he and Izzy were fully covered in sweat and their clothes clung tightly to their bodies.

"Here I thought that I was the only one who loved to do crazy things," Noah muttered as Izzy panted slightly.

"How are… ha… you not… ha… panting?" She inquired as Noah shrugged.

"I just got a good level of stamina.

Noah then stood in his spot for a few seconds until a majority of the spies had sensed inside his mana circle.

Noah felt his body feeling slightly tired from the spells he had used in the span of time. Despite what he had told Izzy, he needed to build up his stamina a bit.

"Infinite Incanctum." He muttered once, feeling another wave of tiredness hitting his body. 'I really need to stop using these skills.'

[ New skill has been detected! ]

[ Do you want to upgrade or downgrade the skill? ]

'Oh?' Noah's eyebrows shot up at this as he felt every single person inside his mana circle vanish.

Noah was about to wonder what other forms of his skill could've when the after-effects of using the skill suddenly hit him.

'Oh well, at least I can still stand still…' Noah bemused.

He felt as though someone was ripping his skull apart piece by piece, something he had experienced mind you and was putting it back again.

"Noah, your nose is bleeding." Izzy pointed out as blood dripped down Noah's nose.

"Maybe I shouldn't think too many lewd things. My nose starts bleeding when I do that." He murmured loud enough so that she could hear his reply.

However, Noah had expected a rebuttal or at least a sight comeback.

Izzy's reply was neither of them.

"Hmm? Who's the girl you have in mind?" She inquired with a grin.

Noah raised an eyebrow. "Any guesses?"

Izzy fluttered her eyelashes charmingly while folding her arms below her bosom. "Maybe it's me~"
