What followed the mechanical voice was a gruesome scene.
A popping noise echoed throughout the auditorium. Screams rose from the bottom of many throats as Bart's head was cut off clean.
Before either the body or the head could hit the ground, they vanished from sight. No blood was spilled yet Bart's was simply gone from existence.
"That was rather unfortunate but we have to move." The principal coughed slightly after having given the students enough time to digest Bart's death.
None of the gathered teenagers knew what had happened, except for the one and only Noah.
< Revenge on one bully completed. >
Noah smiled inwardly after getting the confirmation notification. He had been doubtful that he would get the notification considering how he had only played a minor role in Bart's death.
Noah had made a small change to Bart's Soul book, something only possible after years of learning about the Soul book.
Though one might be wondering, wasn't it stated that a person's Soul book could not be summoned, toucher, or used by another person?
That statement was hundred percent true and Noah hadn't done either of those things. He had simply changed a letter inside the book from R to P, the letter being race.
Noah had ended up using a bit of his time mana as well as spirit magician powers to rewrite that word but the result was what he had gotten.
'Sadly this can only be done to Soul books before the person has gotten a legacy.' Noah sighed, watching the ceremony continue.
Bart's death had been shocking only for a few minutes, that too only because the principal had given some time to the students.
Every graduation ceremony had at least five deaths of students who weren't accepted by the world due to certain reasons such as improper actions or for simply not controlling their powers well.
The moment they would make contact with the crystal ball, the world would terminate them, though no one really knew what the limit for reaching that threshold was.
Of course, one could save their life by not touching the crystal ball but that would be idiotic considering he or she would be left with no legacy.
'People have spent so much time on this.' Noah thought with a slightly amused expression, wondering about the scholars trying to find more about the 'world'.
None of them had made any real discovery in the field except for a few people Noah could count on the fingers of his right hand.
"Isabella Werior!" The principal said, or rather, shouted in a slightly excited tone.
Whispers soon started going around the auditorium as all eyes were fixed on Izzy. She seemed extremely nervous by the sudden attention and was stuck to her spot, her feet refusing to move forward.
"Go ahead. You are the star of the show." Noah suddenly whispered in her ear, the moment not going unnoticed.
A few of the principals shifted their gaze towards him for a few seconds before looking back at Izzy.
She gently squeeze Noah's left hand once, silently thanking him, before stepping towards the crystal ball.
Izzy raised her right hand and pressed it on the crystal ball, all of her nervousness gone. She stood straight and tall like a queen on her way to receive a treasure.
"Water affinity, S grade! Wind affinity, S grade! Ice affinity, SS grade!" boomed the voice. "Unique legacy given. Name, Keeper of Dawn."
'Oh?' Noah's raised his eyebrows in surprise, not expecting to hear such a name.
He clearly remembered that she had gotten a different legacy last time, a unique one called Sovereign of ice.
Keeper of Dawn was something completely unrelated to her personality as well as elements.
"Good job, Isabella! I accepted this from…" The principal suddenly quietened up after remembering the fact that he was in front of hundreds of people. "Next child, please."
"That was… anti-climatic," Izzy muttered the moment she came to stand beside Noah.
"Were you expecting fireworks?" he inquired curiously as Izzy didn't reply for quite some time.
"At least it's over with," she spoke finally. "Let me check the details of my legacy and my… Infirma."
"As you say." Noah nodded in agreement as he let her do what she wanted. He, too, wondered what his Infirma would be.
Infirma was again something that everyone received, a weakness of sorts to balance the usage of their legacy.
It could be something as harmless as being able to drink only one glass of water every hour to something horrific like being blind twelve hours a day or getting one's lifespan cut to seven years.
Obviously, those without a legacy didn't have to worry about those, making their lives a bit more comfortable than those with Infirmas.
Noah observed Izzy's reaction to checking her Infirma but his best friend had her expressions under control.
Noah gave up soon enough and instead turned his gaze towards Sukhma. The bully leader was the complete opposite of Izzy and had his expressions on full display.
Beads of sweat lined his forehead despite the air conditioning in the auditorium. He was probably reconsidering all of his life choices and wondering whether the abuse of power he had done was correct or not.
Noah had no idea whether Sukhma and his buddies would've been terminated without his interference. In the end, removing trash was all that mattered to him.
"Noah Kairo!" The principal finally reached Noah's name but contrary to what had happened with Isabella, no one seemed to be paying attention to him.
Noah would've liked to keep things that way but soon, his affinities would be revealed to everyone.
Previously, his power had been shown as only fire element, that too with only a C grade affinity. It was because fire was the only element his body could comprehend at that time.
The current Noah however would sport all of the elements he had affinities with, which would shock the entire auditorium.
'Oh well, not like I am losing anything here.' Noah thought as he stepped forward.
"Good luck." Izzy's voice entered his ears from behind, bringing a smile to his face.
"I don't need luck." He replied aloud while adding a line in his forehead. 'I just need all of you safe.'
With that, Noah walked up to the crystal ball and placed his hand on it.
"Fire Affinity, S grade!" The voice boomed, pulling some attention towards Noah.
However, it was only the start…
