Chereads / Rise Of The Spirit Magician / Chapter 11 - Averi Rousell

Chapter 11 - Averi Rousell

'He looks as though he is holding the most important event in the world.' Noah observed, knowing well that it was one of the most important events for the principal, despite him doing the same thing every year.

Lights flashed all around the auditorium as ten magic circles suddenly opened in between the seats and the stage.

The circles were all differently colored though the symbols in them looked the same. Noah too would've thought the same if not for having learned how to create the same symbol himself.

It was a teleportation magic circle mostly used to teleport over long distances in groups of ten to twenty.

'The same as last time.' Noah silently looked at the circles which flashed thrice before vanishing.

In their place stood ten different groups of people, half of them dressed in uniform and half-dressed in mismatched clothing.

All of these groups belonged to the academies around the kingdom. They usually sent out some people to gather recruits but this time, the principals themselves had appeared in a school.

'I guess Izzy was too good of a person for them to let go.' Noah sighed mentally, knowing that the principals were specifically there to get Izzy.

Such academies usually visited around 50 schools a year but that was for the representatives.

The principals only went to such a school personally if someone with an SS grade affinity or above appeared there.

"Now let's start with the introductions! Starting from the left, we have…" Noah's current principal then went on to introduce all the famous personalities.

Noah had already tuned out from listening to that, his gaze moving over one of the most famous academies of the kingdom.

The principal of the academy was a guy with neatly combed black hair, a mustache, and calm golden brown eyes.

He and the rest of the people standing around him were wearing an elegant red uniform with a dark blue overcoat.

The colors were already a sign for anyone who followed online culture closely but none of the teenagers gathered there seemed to remember that.

Well, except for one of them.

"Zikarth, the academy of victory…" He muttered aloud, his eyes glowing dangerously for a split second.

"That's the top academy of the kingdom. Is that where you want to go?" Izzy inquired while whispering beside him.

"No, I will never go to such a place," Noah replied firmly, surprising Izzy.

Many would die to get a chance to enter the most prestigious academy in the kingdom yet they didn't know about the dark side of the academy.

Noah had entered the same academy in his previous life mainly due to his legacy.

It had seemed normal for two months and he had spent quality time with Izzy there, who too had chosen to go to that academy.

However, the entire thing had been one big facade that had finally ended with Noah killing the principal in cold blood and taking shelter in the wild.

'On the other hand…' Noah's gaze then traveled towards the academy standing on the second spot from the right.

They were one of the academies that had all members dressed in casual and dissimilar clothing. The principal was a woman in her late twenties.

Her name, remembered correctly by Noah, was Averi Rousell, the principal of Soulika academy.

She was one of those who had helped Noah a lot and had paid later on. Though they hadn't been romantically involved, Noah had lost his virginity to her.

Though Averi appeared to be a calm and mature person, she was actually a lot nervous and open to experiments on the inside.

If there was any academy he would go to, it would be hers.

"I am sure all of you must be bored by now so let's start the legacy ceremony now." Noah's principal finished at last.

He turned his back on the audience for a few seconds as he chanted some sort of spell under his breath.

Eight symbols suddenly appeared in front of the principal, all of them being five feet away from him.

The symbols flashed together once before being replaced by a white, floating crystal ball.

The ball was the same size as a common basketball and was floating fixedly in one spot. An ominous aura surrounded the ball, unsettling a lot of children who were seeing it for the first time.

Noah had seen the crystal ball his last time too and knew that it was what assigned legacies to everyone.

The only thing he hated about the crystal ball was the fact that it displayed the legacies to everyone and even shouted its rank in a booming voice.

"We will be starting in alphabetical order. Amul, please step forward." The principal called out as a nervous teenager stepped forward.

He followed the principal's instructions and placed his right hand firmly on the ball. His body shifted around nervously as the crystal ball glowed right beneath him.

"Water element, B grade affinity!" A mechanical voice boomed across the entire auditorium followed by another statement. "Mythical legacy has been given. Name: The Milkman who gets home with the milk."

The boy blinked in surprise after hearing the name of his legacy. Never in his wildest dreams had he thought of getting a mythical legacy, especially one like the one he got.

"Next, Aza!" The principal shouted as Amul moved back with a dazed look on his face.

Aza turned out to have extremely bad luck as he got handed a common legacy. He looked as though he would cry but had to sadly move back to his place for the others to come ahead.

After two more names, it was finally the turn of someone Noah had been waiting to see.

"Bart!" The principal shouted as one of Noah's bullies moved forward with confidence.

One could've thought that this man knew his legacy beforehand and was just there for the formality. That one person was dumb and wrong.

"Earth element, A-grade affinity!" The mechanical voice boomed. It was about to continue forward when a buzzing sound suddenly overtook the entire place.

Noah observed this with a silent face despite smiling on the inside.

The buzzing receded after a minute as the voice boomed once again.

"Found unworthy. Termination Start!"
