The school was divided into multiple sections but the three most important things were: the auditorium, the training hall, and the library.
Most would think that the classes were the most important thing in the school but that was from the truth. Noah's high school was actually a pre-training facility in disguise.
The training hall had many types of equipment for those who had unlocked their powers and had little to offer to those who hadn't.
The library was more open in that manner as it included books on almost everything, the majority of which had been read by Noah in his free time to get a better understanding of society.
However, the main attraction of the day was going to be the auditorium whose main purpose was to hold events or special assemblies.
"How much do you both know about today's ceremony?" Erika casually inquired as the three of them made their way to the basement where the auditorium was located.
"We will be told about some things we can do in the future, introduced to some people and we would be handed with a legacy, at least for those who unlocked their powers." Izzy recited the exact words told by her and Noah's class teacher.
Noah nodded in agreement, his mind busy thinking of something else.
'I wonder what kind of legacy I will draw…' Noah remembered that the last time, he had gotten a legacy called 'Wander's Curse'.
Legacies, also called Body constitutions, were something handed to everyone directly by the divinity of the world.
They were supposed to help a person in their progress and give them special things like skills, abilities, etc.
Legacies were divided into ranks based on how commonly they were given. The rankings in order of their frequent appearance were: common, rare, epic, mythical, and unique.
Unique legacies were something that was specifically made for a certain person and had never been given out before.
Noah's last legacy had been mythical and the name of it had described his previous life well enough. He did have the curse of being a wanderer, moving from one place to another with a new pain inside his heart every time.
'I should get a unique legacy this time.' Noah assumed while getting back to the conversation, which, not to his surprise, had just reached its end.
"I hope both of you get good legacies." Erika wished while gently squeezing their shoulders.
Noah and Izzy just offered her some smiles, neither of them knowing what the future might hold.
The trio reached the flight of stairs going down in the auditorium and traveled down together. After reaching the bottom step, they saw a sign asking the parents to move towards the seats and the children to gather backstage.
Noah and Izzy took a last glance at Erika before walking towards the area behind the stage.
Erika saw them walk away for a few seconds before going in the opposite direction and taking a seat in the front row to watch everything closely.
'Hmm, most of the front row seats are empty.' She observed while seeing that the seats behind the first row were packed tightly.
Erika shrugged it off and waited for the event to start.
On the other side, Noah and Izzy had reached the entrance to the back of the arena
"Noah, what do you think would happen if we get a bad legacy?" Izzy suddenly questioned, dropping her voice to a level only audible to Noah.
"Our teacher would say that we won't grow as fast as compared to those with good legacies but in the end, if we have good affinities, everything will be fine," Noah replied confidently as Izzy sighed in relief.
"Thank you for saying that." She replied cheerfully.
"Well, that's what friends are for." Noah smiled a bit, knowing well that his words had lifted some worries off Izzy's shoulders.
"Anyways, what affinities did you get?" She inquired curiously.
"You will see soon." Noah winked before his eyes scanned the backstage area.
They landed on the trio he had been looking for before settling on the stage itself.
Red curtains were drawn to prevent anyone from seeing anything. The principal as well as four class teachers stood on the stage.
Noah and Izzy managed to overhear their conversation while making their way to stand with other students.
"Have all the students arrived?" The principal asked urgently as the class teachers swept their gaze over the gathered crowd of children.
"Three non-awakened students are not here but otherwise, everyone is here." The teacher replied as the principal rolled his eyes.
Non-awakened was the official term for those who didn't awaken any sort of power despite turning eighteen.
"I don't care about those. The principals of the famous academies are coming here today and I want to show the best image of our school. Go and get everything arranged. We will begin in five." The principal ordered as the teachers dispersed.
The principal himself walked away to find the special guests for the events, thus leaving the children unsupervised.
"Hey Noah, what power did you unlock?" Sukhma's irritating voice suddenly entered Noah's head as he saw the bully leader walking toward him.
The bully leader was wearing a luxurious red velvet suit with a purple tie and a thin gold chain. Noah debated whether he should tell Sukhma that he looked like a cosplay stripper.
"Don't tell me you got stuck with an E grade affinity," Sukhma commented again as his two minions snickered.
At first, Noah decided to ignore Sukhma but decided against it as he knew that Izzy would take the initiative of replying in his place. Noah's best friend was already frowning at the trio's words.
"Sukhma, you had good taste in choosing that maid on the pole," Noah stated while winking at the bully leader. "Maybe you should join her in a strip club."
Sukhma blinked in confusion as he didn't understand what Noah was saying at first. However, it soon hit him as he remembered that he couldn't find his phone in the morning.
"You…" He began to say but was suddenly cut off by the shout of one of the class teachers.
"Everyone gather on the stage! If any of you speak a word, I will make you give double exams!"
Hearing the teacher's threat, the entire place quietened down before lining up and going on the stage at the same time. They knew that he was saying the truth, after all.
Sukhma didn't get a chance to say anything else as the curtains were suddenly pulled up and lights flashed on the stage.
'I wonder if all of those principals from last year will appear here again.' Noah wondered silently as his gaze met Erika's nervous one.
His mother seemed to be more nervous than he was which was something Noah had expected. Erika had always been like that and his middle school graduation had gone similarly.
Noah also observed that he was the only one standing out amongst the group of children as all of them were dressed in suits and dresses.
However, he didn't give a fuck about that.
ZZZ!
Suddenly, a buzzing sound echoed around the entire auditorium as the principal walked towards the center of the stage with a mike attached to the collar of his suit.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's about time we start this ceremony," The principal spoke clearly, a trace of nervousness still present in his voice. "But first, let me introduce the chief guests of today's events!"
