Li Fu flinched when he felt something land hard on his back.
They all turn to the familiar not-so-little girl fuming a few feet from where they stood.
"Did you just throw that at me?" Li Fu refered to a jotter pad which was lying before him, wrinkled up.
"Are you blind? Or can't you see I'm the only one standing here?"
The boy, half beaten to stupor sadly shook his head at this girl who was already courting death.
Li Fu saw red when she uttered those words. He was greatly surprised because he couldn't imagine in his wildest dreams that someone who was used to bowing her head to the floor was staring him straight in the eyes like she wanted to unleash burning infernos at him.
He just smirked and calmly crushed the note pad under the the dirty sole of his shoe before glancing up at her.
"I'm going to pretend like I didn't hear a word you just said. Come. Pick up your note pad, and while you're at it, you can eat every single page of it. What do you say?"
"Let the boy go."
"He owes me a week's worth of doing my homework!" Hai Bo arrogantly told her and kicked the boy again who howled in pain.
"Let him go and I'll do your assignments for you." Jiang Meiying said, a brilliant idea suddenly popping into her head at the thought of making some money off these dunderheads.
The two boys exchanged glances and laughed like two maniacs.
"Aren't you supposed to be one year ahead of us. Why did you repeat class?" Li Fu asked the obvious question with a smug smirk.
"Do you accept my offer or not? The school board won't be happy to learn that you bully your fellow students and force them into doing your own homeworks for you."
The boys exchanged glances.
"You can't say a word about this to anybody or we'll kill you. It's simple as that." Li Fu shrugged, sure that the girl would be intimidated enough.
Jiang Meiying chuckled coldly before bundling her hands into a fists.
"So you won't let him go?"
"It's none of your business... Now... " Li Fu reminded her about the jotter pad on the ground. "Don't waste my time or I'll make sure your entire head enters the toilet this time."
Wearing a look of calmness which portrayed nonchalance, she confidently took strides forward.
She met with Li Fu's mocking eyes before bending down to pick the charred looking pad.
From the corner of her eyes, she sees the sole of a shoe coming at her, and she dodged it swiftly, spinning and standing up to shove the entire jotter pad in Li Fu's mouth.
Hai Bo who made a move to kick her, slipped from the sudden movement and fell onto the ground.
Li Fu was already on the ground, spurting and choking on the jotter pad which was stuffed in his mouth. The edge of his eyss were rimmed red and tears threatened to pour out.
Jiang Meiying turned to the small boy who was at kneeling point, ready to burst out crying.
"Go." She coldly told him, and he scampered away, appreciatively muttering a small 'thank you' with teary eyes.
She turned in time to see Li Fu flying at her with his fists raised and his eyes flashing red with anger.
She moved to the left a bit and missed him by a hair's breath, only for the huge boy to fall on his face again, yowling in pain.
"Ahhh!!!" Li Fu hissed at Hai Bo. "Hold her from behind and don't let go of her! We need to teach her a lesson! Who is she to beat us this way?"
They didn't want to admit the fear and shock in their hearts at the sudden power and courage Jiang Meiying obtained to toss them around like rag dolls.
Hai Bo flew on his feet and like a missile charged towards Jiang Meiying who reflexively shot out her powerful leg again, kicking him on the stomach and sending him backwards with blood gushing out of his mouth.
When she turned to Li Fu, his eyes widened, and he crawled back in fear and submission.
"I'm... I'm... sorry!!!" He was surprised at his own words. If anyone had told him he'd be in this situation, apologizing to Jiang Meiying, he'd give the person a few punches and take his lunch money, but it was happening. This was really happening! He had to save his face or who knows what she'll do to him? He was the heir of the family business after all!!! He spat out dirt from the jotter pad she had stuffed in his mouth earlier before stammering again. "Please forgive me!!! I won't bother you again." In fear, he fell to his knees, almost clasping her ankles in desperation.
Jiang Meiying chuckled coldly and stepped back to glance at the two.
"From now on, you two will stop bullying and learn to do hard AND simple things on your own, do you understand?!"
The two boys exchanged glances and replied reluctantly,
"Y..Yes Jiang Meiying."
"I didn't hear you. Do you want a few kicks between your legs too?"
The scrunched up their faces and held their preciousness as they yelled,
"Yes Miss Jiang!!!"
Feeling contended, she nodded.
She thought of something else just as they began getting up.
"The college entrance examination is around the corner. Are you prepared to fail or get into a good college?"
The boys only bowed their heads, feeling honestly shameful for the first time in their lives.
"Well... If you're interested, I'm willing to conduct extra lessons for you two and any of your friends who'd be interested."
The two boys exchanged glances before Li Fu asked coolly,
"YOU... teach US?"
Her mood darkened, and the boys almost cried in panic. Would she hit them again??!
"Is there a problem?"
"No Miss Jiang!!!"
"Are you up for it or not? The first lesson is free. Then you can decide if you want to continue or not."
Hai Bo agreed. It wasn't a bad idea.
"Where can we meet?" Li Fu asked hopefully.
"During break. In the cafeteria. Prepare a series of topics you find difficult in all your science subjects and we'll start there." With that, she began leaving, picking her bag on the way.
"Miss Jiang!!!"
She turned.
"What is it?"
"How much do you charge?"
"You'll know after our first lesson. Don't be late or else... "
She didn't finish her threat but the boys gulped.
